Ugh, I wish I'd seen this thread earlier - my game crashed and when I restarted all of my DLC was unauthorized (installed but not linked to my account) - it shows that I've logged in fine, so I never thought it might be a Bioware server problem. I could have saved myself a lot of time troubleshooting..

This.  -_-

Didn't think to check the BioWare servers until I got frustrated at all of my failed troubleshooting and tried to buy the DLC again (to see what message it gave me).  It informed me the servers are down at the moment.

Sigh.

^ What Earthlust said, their servers are down. If you really want to play and have authorized your DLC before then just log out of your account at the main menu in game, you should see that all of your DLC will work as long as you are *not* logged in.

Nope, doesn't work (for me, anyway).

All my saves require DLCs, and I only ever get the pop-up message saying the saves require the DLCs to be loaded.

God I hate server issues in SINGLE PLAYER games....

Maker's breath! So there's a problem on the server side, you say? I was up for hours last night trying to solve this, and I've sat here for an additional hour browsing forums and what not... finally I see here that it's more or less confirmed that their servers are acting up. I seriously hope they'll fix this ASAP; being prevented from playing a single player game just because the publisher's servers are down, is incredibly stupid, This is why all kinds of DRM, SecuROM, and what have you only affect the legal game owners, and not the pirates.

Simple solution: Don't log in. You'll be able to play the game just fine, including all DLC you might have. If you stay logged out, you can play the game. Log in, then you'll have problems.

Oh, yes, I never play while logged in, but this is a fresh install (wanted to re-visit Fereldan after spending days playing DA2), so it needs to log on and authenticate it at least once.

I think someone needs to lose their job over this. It's a single player game, and I haven't been able to play for almost 24 hours now because of a mess-up on their side. This is the worst DRM screw-up that I've ever seen.

I've been unable to play for 3 days now. I submitted a help request, and was told:

"We are aware of this issue, and our engineer's are working on it. Please wait 'some' time and try to log in and play later".

What do they mean by "Some" time? It's been 3 days at least and it looks like everyone who has any of the DLC can't play. Even low budget mmo's don't go down for this long, and this is the only time I've ever had a single player game get ruined for me by server issues.

Same happening here, First Levi appeard in my camp.. which I thought was odd considering id already completed his quest... Logged off to have dinner, came back and all of a sudden im a dagger down and Alister, Sten and Wynne are all but naked...
Makes you wonder why you spend money on games, so many of my friends just pirate, one of them is laughing at me over the current situation while he just plays his content with no trouble at all...

Also, tried the logging off method before playing. It workns, kind of but now most pof the DLC stuff (Dragon armour, Shale, Calins sword) are all bright white, as if they are missing their texture files. Anyone else finding this?

Seems whenever companies take steps to try to combat piracy ALL it does is give the consumer more reason to commit it.

i'm having the same probs even though everything checks out on my end (Win 7); i would assume that, since it's Sunday, this won't get resolved till tomorrow. perhaps i'm mistaken but i can't imagine anyone being called in to work over this.

What do you suggest they do?  These companies aren't here for your benefit they are here to make money.  It's annoying yes but honestly they wouldn't have to do it if people wouldn't steal their stuff so often.  And before you say its not a problem or whatever read this.

http://kotaku.com/#!...100000-pirates-[update]

18,000 customers who bought a game couldn't play it because the 100,000 people who pirated it gummed up the servers.

/end rant

Also I'm having the same problem and I did all the tech support stuff so yeah please fix your stuff bioware, I'm trying to do the game again to play Dragon Age 2 with different options, and I can't play  :(

WHAT???!!!!

So all this trouble because their servers are down?

I spent hours troubleshooting my disappearing DLC and even contacted EA chat support. They never mentioned anything about downed servers - instead I got some useless advise that maybe screwed up my computer and registry.

I then tried re-installing (and re-downloading), only to find out after 18 hours that the game won't even load because of an awc.dll misconfiguration.

So now I don't even have a working game, and really don't want to download 27Gig again. EA support will be hearing from me...

A pity that such an excellent game is marred by such poor design and quality in the DLC manager.

bad, bad, BAD Bioware!!

I keep seeing this said, yet I haven't seen a single Digital Purchase or Ultimate Edition purchase owner where this is holding true for... For me, as a Digital UE owner, if I don't log in, only basic content is available...NONE of the DLC or Premium Content....

Actually, I can confirm that Animositisomina's suggestion is working for me. If I log in, all my DLC is unauthorised, if I stay logged out, it's all good and I can play. Very weird, because I've had this issue before but solved it differently - can't remember how though. (I got the Ultimate edition via Steam)

This is getting to the point of absurdity, it has been since Friday that I can not play my single player game for 4 days because of a server issue. You have lost a "paying" customer.

Oh whine whine whine. How terrible that you couldnt play a video game for four days. Perhaps you should i dunno go out and get some fresh air instead. Go for a walk someplace nice.

Servers sometimes go down people in the gaming community need to accept this. It likely has something to do with an influx of new players logging on and recent possible security issues. I'd rarther they fix security issues than have an account comprimised and not be able to log in at anyways.

People need to just get over it and not cry when their WoW server is down of maintenence or whatever else. Servers sometimes need maintenence to keep running efficiantly.

Everyone, try again. My DLC are now showing as clean. I was just on Live Chat to EA and my responder said to try again and she was right, the authorization servers are now working.

Hopefully the servers are up for everyone. Finally !

I contacted Support again this morning and finally got what I was looking for the entire time: an honest answer.
It wasn't a pretty answer, but it was at least a genuinely honest answer which was that they are working on it and they just don't know when things will be back up.
No "24-48 hours"...no "uninstall and re-install"...no "workarounds" that end up probably creating more head-aches than help...but a real honest to goodness we really don't know.
Moondoggie is right...servers go down for whatever reason...that can't be helped. What was getting me peeved was more the bad answers being given out creating a lot of expectations that weren't very realistic.
