Troll ?I guess Raedek means me. It's uncalled for.

My DLC were unauthorized but as of now are clean Maybe I got lucky and hit a window. I'll try again and see if it's reverted back again, but honestly, 15 mins ago, it was working for me having been out all weekend.

This is getting to the point of absurdity, it has been since Friday that I can not play my single player game for 4 days because of a server issue. You have lost a "paying" customer.

Oh whine whine whine. How terrible that you couldnt play a video game for four days. Perhaps you should i dunno go out and get some fresh air instead. Go for a walk someplace nice.

Servers sometimes go down people in the gaming community need to accept this. It likely has something to do with an influx of new players logging on and recent possible security issues. I'd rarther they fix security issues than have an account comprimised and not be able to log in at anyways.

People need to just get over it and not cry when their WoW server is down of maintenence or whatever else. Servers sometimes need maintenence to keep running efficiantly.

Who on earth are you to tell someone that they aren't allowed to vent their frustration because something they bought isn't playable?  Comparing this to MMO server maintenance is probably the most idiotic thing I've read in quite some time, it's a bleeding single-player RPG without any online functionality (of note anyway).  Maybe YOU should get your head out of your arse!?

Ok folks, sincere apologies. The servers aren't fixed for me after all. When I checked after the EA support girl said to try again as they had been working on the servers, my DLC were indeed good. In my excitment I stupidly forgot I had logged out yesterday and set it to not login automatically. That's why my DLC were showing clean, not because the servers are fixed.

I'll go back into lurk mode Sorry I messed up and got people's hopes up. But I wasn't trying to troll.

Hey...can't blame you for getting excited, I'm just about to start the Landsmeet on my second playthrough and have been itching to get back to it as this is my "evil" playthrough and everything is opposite to what I did with my "Hero" Warden.

Simple solution: Don't log in. You'll be able to play the game just fine, including all DLC you might have. If you stay logged out, you can play the game. Log in, then you'll have problems.

I keep seeing this said, yet I haven't seen a single Digital Purchase or Ultimate Edition purchase owner where this is holding true for... For me, as a Digital UE owner, if I don't log in, only basic content is available...NONE of the DLC or Premium Content....

This is the same for my brothers,  we all own the ultimate edition.  When in the logged out mode, none of the DLC's are working.

Thanks, Deathwurm :)

I've been wanting to get back into my city elf playthrough (see avatar). I'd left her in the Brecilian Forest when Awakenings came out, then got caught by all the crashes and memory leaks and kind of lost interest and haven't bothered with DA since. It's only because of DA2 that I decided to look at my old games this weekend. Guess I'll have to have more patience.

And here was I ready to buy the other DLCs I missed after Awakenings too (DC, GoA, LS, WH). So frustrating.

If you want to play logged in you can try this. I found it somewhere on the forums and seems to be working
1. Goto My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings
2. Open addins.xml and edit all lines that read RequiresAuthorization="1" and change the 1 to 0
( BackUp the original file before doing this)
3. Restart the game all should be working. Well at least it was for me.

PS. I have heard of people having issues with this but I have not. So please backup everyhthing including your saves.

I bought the UE, so I was lucky enough to get all the available DLC's included...I haven't played DA2 yet so I don't know to what extent some of the other DLC's change up DA2's story...but the only DLC I would have paid for looking back would be Leiliana's Song. I really thought that one was good with some pretty cool visual moment's when you meet each Character in it for the 1st time.
Darkspawn Chronicles was an interesting take on things because you get to look at the Final Battle in Denerim from the other side of things, Amgarrak was interesting but I don't think I would pay extra to play it, and Witch Hunt was a let down because of it's ending.
I'm on a really tight budget (aren't we all nowadays) so I did look really hard at them all while playing to judge whether or not I would have paid for them.
But those are just my opinions, everyone has different tastes & just remember if you do decide on Leiliana's Song and hate it...I was just giving MY opinion. Image IPB

I have created a group called "Clients with Unresolved DLC Issues - Dragon Age: Origins". The idea is to see if we have critical mass for escalating a response from EA and/or Bioware. If you have unresolved DLC issues with Dragon Age: Origins and want to be counted, consider joining this group. Just search for it in the groups tab.

I am new to forum groups so the helpful voice of experience is a welcome sound. Thanks and looking forward to positive change.

If you get the unauthorized DLC issue, there are essentially 2 causes:
1) the DLC code was not redeemed on the account you play with
    - check that your DLC shows up at this page (http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php)
    - if not, redeem the code that came in the box/from digital download provider here
    - ensure you are logging into the game with the same email address/pwd used on this site
    - depending on server load, it may take up to 1min to verify the content
    - once verified (no longer unauthorized), you can play offline from that point onward

2) the DA updater service has a problem

#2 is actually the most common issue, and there are many different reasons it could get into a state that it thinks your DLC is not authorized.  The most common of those is that it simply failed to start - this can happen even in cases where it had previously worked.

For all cases, there is a great troubleshooting guide and workarounds in this thread:
http://social.biowar...58/index/759141

So, earlier on I downloaded the Digital Only Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition through EA's Store and Download Manager.

Once downloded I followed your steps from the How Two Thread which matched the instructions I was given by EA after successfully purchasing the game through the store.

I redeemed the code as instructed, but received the following Message:

"Code successfully redeemed! Note: You may need to refresh your wallet balance in-game before content will appear in-game

You have acquired the following items:

Unrecognised Item

Click here to view all your registered game content"

That didn't seem too positive. So I click to view the content, and I'm a little uncertain as to what I'm seeing.

Feastday Pranks, Blood Dragon Armor, The Stone Prisoner, and Feastday Gifts are all listed with a "---" after them.

Witchcraft (for Origins), Golem's Might (for Origins), Witchcraft (for Awakening), Golem's Might (for Awakening), Blightblood (for Awakening), Battledress of the Provocateur (for Awakening), Battledress of the Provocateur (for Origins), and Blightblood (for Origins) all have a "More Info - PC" tag after them.

And

The Darkspawn Chronicles, The Golems of Amgarrak, Witch Hunt and Lelianas song all have "More Info PC, Download (Standalone) - PC, More Info - Mac" tags after them.

It certainly looks like something is wrong.

In game all DLCs are listed in the Installed collumn, as you'd expect from the Digital Only copy, but marked as "Unauthorised".

I've tried rebooting the game and my PC multiple times, but it hasn't changed.

I'm thinking that the Code was probably duff. Or received incorrectly somewhere. But nevertheless I have paid for this edition and my content is not there.

I was definitely logged in with an account when I redeemed the code, but obviously I now cannot redeem it again. Nor can I reinstall.

Can anybody help?

This isn't much help, but I don't think your code is off. I'm starting to wonder if this is something on their end. I've had Origins for about a year and bought all the DLCs as they came out. Today I had to uninstall Origins and reinstall it. That included all my DLCs - which I've already played many, many times.

I only own one Bioware account with the same address as it's always been, but I'm getting "unauthorized" on the DLCs.

To see if they're actually authorized go to your Profile page. Right under your avatar you'll have some drop down menus which say things like What's New, My Profile, and My Content.

Go to Profile and "My Registered Game Content" to see if your codes worked.

I wish I had an answer because I'm a long time owner with the same problem. By scrolling up in the thread it's possible both our problems may fix themselves if there's a server down or something else is going on with their side of things.

It sounds like you've successfully redeemed your code.  However, you're having troubles getting your game to sync with the authorization server.  Check out this thread and see if it helps:

Finally finished school so I have a chance to play games again. I get DA:O-UE installed via EADM, but unless I'm logged into the servers I cannot access any DLC (unauthorized). When I do log in there's a bunch of DLC that simply sits in the download tab with no indication that it's actually downloading at all.

I have successfully redeemed the codes for the DLC and I have the DLC disk in the retail version of UE as well.

I have tried just about every workaround I can locate online to fix this. It would be really nice if I could play DA without having to be tethered to my router. It's a single-player game, after all. I paid for the DLC why can I not access it without resorting to illegitimate means?

Edit: after having spent 30hrs downloading DAO-UE through the EADM, and the still present DLC issues, now I can't even play the game without inserting the retail disk I used to register the game in the first place.  What gives?

Did you completely uninstall your older copies of the game, then reboot?

This is how I get it to work every time it plays up, which can be quite alot as I mod the $h1t out of my install. So many bug fixes and texture remodels, including the HiRes patch which is gorgeous ;)

I go into Component Services into the search bar, look for the DAUpdaterSvc and stop, set to Automatic, start, then start up DAO again. Fixes the problem for me.

Running Win7 Enterprise x64, Retail version ( I had store credit ^.^ )

That worked for me. Thanks a million, it was driving me up the walls. :)

Mad-Darkness, if you're using IE for your browser, it won't download the 105 patch. ( At least it didn't for me) You have to use firefox or a different browser. The 105 patch will fix the unauthorized problem.

My DAUpdater.svc was not starting because I had uninstalled/reinstalled. The game left a junk folder with a different name than the new reinstall and the service was still pointing to that file path.

-Start menu type "run" enter then run "services.msc"
-Find the DAUpdater and right click and go to properties
-Confirm that the file path of the DAUpdator service is EXACTLY
the same as the installed location.

If not follow this link to change the file path of the service.
