I´ve seen pretty much threads already in which someone complains that mages are completely overpowered, should be nerfed to death and that every other class sucks compared to them. As this is completely the opposite of what I experienced, I decided to make this thread to whine about other classes / skills.
  • I think dualwielding is totally OP. The attackspeed is just ridiculously high, while damage is only slightly less than 2handed weapons or sword+shield. Practically, you need nothing but Momentum and either dual striking (for warrior) or a place behind your enemy (for rogues) and you can kill everything easily.
  • Stealth. Totally OP. You can stay invisible while planting traps, throwing bombs etc. You can kill everything except a few bosses without ever be noticed.
  • Arrow of slaying.    "My AoS hits for 300+ damage on Lv7!!!!" Common claim. WTF?!?!?! NERF!!!!!

So, thats what came to my mind right now. If you feel something is OP that is not a Mage or AW, please post here, so we can sit together, whine a little and cry for Nerfs. Maybe someone will be annoyed by it.

Dale Earnhardt said it best when talking about the cars being too fast. Instead of slowing the cars down with restrictor plates he said, 'make bigger walls.'

So I say no to nerfs but yes to  beefier badies.

Dual wield is OP, there are times when I won't use abilities just regular attacks so the computer feel like it has a chance.

Dual Wielding is Burst. 2H is pierce, Sword+Shield shouldnt even be considered a DPS spec. Arrow of Slaying is a 90+ Stam costing Ability with a 40-60sec cooldown(Cant remember correctly) Seriously, it's that OP. Although Stealth is a little OP, but wont get you leveled that far.

Dual Wielding is not burst, it's sustained DPS. 2h is burst. Sword and Shield does plenty of damage, nearing 2h DPS (not burst). Arrow of Slaying is only useful against trash, otherwise for bosses you use less Stamina costing abilities. Stealth is powerful, but if you don't like it, don't use it.

Either you're insanely good at Sword and Shield or you don't know how to play 2H very well. I have tried both builds and 2H definitly does much more damage. Sword and Shield are for tanks.

Sad thing is, in my experience he doesnt stand a chance.
I stopped my dualwielder and started a second mage because Dualwielder was like
  • click doublestrike
  • click momentum
  • click on enemy
  • win
  • repeat steps 3+4 on other enemies, if there is more than one
  • next fight consists of steps 3-5, unless you turned off a mode, in which case you actually have to click once more
[irony]
but I got to admit that I´m a little surprised. So far there is no real flame or whine here, though I even called it a whine-thread. So please, cry more, guys!

I have 3 Lv 25 Chars, and a lv 20+ Warrior. My 25 Mage is a Entropic/Primal mage - Blood/Arcane Warrior. She hit for around 1700 one time. My lv 25 Rogue did a 1400+ Arrow of Slaying and a 900+ Punisher. My 25 Warrior did a 1400+ Mighty Blow and 1400+ Punisher 1600+ Arrow of Slaying, 700- Assault. If Shield+Swords isn't a DPS spec, then what am I doing wrong?

And yea, dual wielding is sustained. But also burst. Burst is fast, no missers, and ALOT of damage. 2H is Pierce. It has BRA possibilities and pierces through the armor. Thats why its pierce damage.

1700? Wow. I had a level 20 mage, but he never hit above 400. Did you use the skill exploit or just pour everything into magic?

Pour everything into magic of course. I use items which give Mana Regeneration. In combat and out even faster. So I dont have to worry about that, I use one skill. A whole area in Blizzard is dead. Then after 4-5 seconds I can use it again. :) Really all you need is Mana Clash/Blizzard or Inferno or Earthquake.

Now you see, the problem there is this: If you dont have the right setup in your stats. You will miss every hit with Double Strike and Momentum together. :innocent:

Pouring everything into magic is definitely not enough to give you over 1000 damage. There has to be something else you are doing. Are you adding up the entire damage of the spell or something? Because even then... (100+Spell Power) x .1 and hitting roughly 15 times. If you have 200 spell power after items (which is patently impossible without cheating) and the +30% cold from damage (the supposed cap) thats 40 per hit, or about 600 for the entire spell, which would have to be added manually (the game doesn't give you a total for DoT spells). I don't understand how over 1000 in a single hit would be possible.

I suppose you could with mana clash, but only if they had a huge amount of mana. At previously mentioned impossible 200 spell power they would need to have lost 400 mana to break 1000 damage. Is this how you did it? And if so, what was your spell power at the time? I wouldn't be super surprised if some enemies had ridiculous amounts of mana on nightmare or something.

It's not just high spellpower. Stacking +spirit damage gear and vulnerability hex and affliction hex on one target will greatly magnify the amount of damage mana clash will do. Here is a screenshot of my highest hit so far. I one-shot Gaxkang.

Ah, that makes sense. You could get to about double damage with all those things together. Out of curiosity, what was your spellpower at the time? If it was 100 that would be...+130% damage assuming +30% spirit damage (again, the supposed max, but I haven't been able to test). Then so that would be 1.5x2.3xOpponents mana. Which means gaxkang would have had almost 800 mana at the time you slapped him with mana clash. It did seem like he had basically unlimited mana when I was fighting him.

Yes, I had 106 spellpower at the time.
