I guess this topic belongs here not where I originally had (At least this is part of the forum the moderator put in his reply saying it needs to go)  it so anyway here it is.

Before replying lay off the cleric crap, there are no clerics in DAO there are mages and thus ALL MAGES have some form of healing on them.

So Putting A side starting as a mage. (Although I don't forsee you being able to have any healing spells at your disposal going that route either) But whether you can or not is not the point and it is 100% not rellevant where I am in the game either.
What is relevant, is that since there are no clerics in DAO there should be a mage available with healing spells when you have someone going with you. So you should get a choice if you want a healing mage, or a mage that does damage.
It is seriously ridiculous how I cannot just use a mage to spam healing on my party while they attack a boss or monsters in general. Where is the free choice on how I want to defeat enemies?

So. . . I take it you haven't got very far in the game yet?

Go to the mage tower and be very, very nice to little old ladies.

There's one mage that comes with healing spells already. Coincidentally, her name rhymes with

"win". She is where... mages are. I'm sure you can probably follow the clues now.

What you say is 100% not relevant and pointless and not to mention has no bearing on this.

I should automatically be given a choice about which mage type I wish to take a long, healing or damage.

Perhapse you missed that part

Seriously, you can get one pretty much immediately.

**spoilers**

After Ostagar when you get to Lothering, just go to the mages tower first :P

The game is seriously easy through Lothering, so you don't get a healer until you need one.

Besides, you can always force Morrigan to learn a healing spell if you feel you need a healer in Lothering. She already knows how to make health poultices.

Do you people know how to read and or comprehend what you read:

Here is what I am saying in plain English

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BE GIVEN A CHOICE ABOUT WHAT MAGE TYPE YOU WANT
TO TAKE WITH YOU UPON STARTING THE GAME.

You need to spend some time playing the game and not complaining in the forums. The fastest way you can get a mage that heals is to put one point in Heal when Morrigan gets a level. For a dedicated healer you need to do the Mage tower to recruit Wynne. And this is the spoilers section so I don't care if you have not completed the game yet.

To spell it out for you. **SPOILERS**

A mage with creation magic and spirit healer specialization is the equivalent to a cleric, and if you choose to recruit Wynne you'll have the option of a healer in your party. If you roll a mage then adding some creation magic is another option, or even manually leveling Morrigan that way.

In short there are quite a few methods to get the outcome that you seem to desire; you could always spam healing items if you have them at your disposal, but to be fair before the more recent updates, healing drops weren't as plentiful, and it created a bit of a difficulty curve on the first play through. Regardless, there's an ample amount of free choice in how you defeat your enemies, despite your lack of knowledge to its implementation.

Um, wow, rude much?  Since we can't tell if you want spoilers, the previous posters gave hints.  But, hey, if you want us to play the game for you.....

Mages Tower, don't annull it.  Be nice the the little old lady.

Previous to that, you're screwed.  Bring health poultices.

All of you replying are complete morons, not one of you have any common sense, because none of you know how to comprehend what you read, because you don't know how to read what is actually being said.

1. No one asked for help
2. no one cares about when all of you are saying to get mages
3. It is not relevant that you get a mage after Lothering or whenever or that none of you THINK one is needed.
4. Playing the game at all has nothing to do with what is being said

it's clear none of you went to school, because nothing any of you said has anything to do with what I'm talking about.

A first man calls you a horse: punch him in the nose.

A second man calls you a horse: Kick him in the shin.

A third man calls you a horse: It's time to start looking for a saddle.

When people in here can actually reply with something that actually has to do with the topic, then maybe you wouldn't be getting called dumb.

The interesting question is why the OP thinks he/she/it needs a pocket doctor. It's possible to go through the entire game without a single healing spell available. Many people have done so. Yet the OP seems to need a healer in the origin story itself. And gets hostile about the concept.

I'm sensing a 'QQ" moment coming on.....

On that note; perhaps it's time you went back under the bridge.

Heh you're right.  As soon as I clicked submit earlier, I thought "damn, that's a troll I've responded to".  Oops.  Must be tired.

Wow what an irrelevant comment that has nothing to do with the topic.

The absence of ability leads to excuse perhaps.

For that matter, just once, I'd like to have my character start a fantasy game with an evilbad slaying boomstick and plenty of ammo.

I actually gave you the answer you need, unless your ENTIRE point is "this game didn't give me Cure 4 and Raise Dead at Level 1". Of course, you've demonstrated you are too retarded to follow even the simplest cues so I'm sure my advice is lost on you. In closing, **** you.

By the maker, have you been drinking the king's brew of darkspawn bottoms? Play nice kid, don't call us morons if you want help or suggestions with playing the game.

As for your whining, get WYNNE, she's a healer and NO you can't choose another character, perhaps you can rebuilt Morrigan as a healer.

Nor
did you, presumably, as you've been told in idiot-proof terms the direct
answer to the question you've asked in the first post. Several times. At one point someone told you the answer to the question you posed and for some bizarre reason, you claimed he was being 100% irrelevant.

Except the part where you issue a proclaimation that we should always be given a choice as to what kind of Mage to use. I'm not even sure what you actually mean by this, as to make *any* type of Mage a healer, all that is required is 1 talent point.

And you get said Mage in the opening segment of the game.

Put bluntly, if you want help, think about what question you're actually asking and spend a few years growing up. I'm sure you'll see better results.
