Obviously you don't know what you're talking about dude, so stop offending people that are trying to help you. You can either play a mage yourself, or you can recruit one of the mage companions. There are two mage companions in the game, Morrigan and Wynne. Wynne comes already with some healing spells in her book. Morrigan is more offensive, but you can give her healing spells when she level up.

Just for the my records of having to deal with various people that make no sense in the internet, how old are you?

Its very simple. You don't have any intrinsic right to dictate who is available to you in a story someone else wrote and designed. If you want a game where you can chose all the characters, then play a game where you can chose the entire party like the old Icewind Dale games. Games where you play one characer and everyone else *isn't* you, don't guarantee you anything.

Morrigan doesn't cast healing spells. That's not the sort of magic she's studied. If you don't like her, don't use her. Or..just get her up one level and have her learn Heal. Either way, you have exactly one zone (lothering) before you can get your second mage, who does start with healing.

This game is designed entirely opposite to your philosophy. You can't chose specializations until you've unlocked them. You can't get certain people in your group until you reach that point in the story. If you can't accept that, play a different game.

Or... since its a single player game, get the 'respect NPCs' mod and install that. Then you can change morrigan into whatever you want, build wise.

Ok, allow me to give this a shot.

So Putting A side starting as a mage. (Although I don't forsee you being able to have any healing spells at your disposal going that route either)

Well, if you start as a mage you can spec to have the spell "Heal" immediately and then go the "Spirit Healer" specialization which give you further heal spells, such as "Revival" and "Group Heal." I'd say making a mage is a good way to get a healing mage.

What is relevant, is that since there are no clerics in DAO there should be a mage available with healing spells when you have someone going with you.

There is a mage with healing spells and even the Spirit Healer specialization to begin with - Wynne. You can get her very early too, straight out of Lothering, in fact.

So you should get a choice if you want a healing mage, or a mage that does damage.
It is seriously ridiculous how I cannot just use a mage to spam healing on my party while they attack a boss or monsters in general. Where is the free choice on how I want to defeat enemies?

You can in fact, turn Morrigan into a Spirit Healer as well, although you will have to wait until she is level 14. Having her sit back and use heal is a matter of setting the tactics. Morrigan could be your designated healer if you choose.

EDIT: So yeah, to answer your thread title thats how you get a healing mage added to your party.

The don't title it as a question asking for it. You asked when you get a healing mage. You were answered as to when, and where. Now you're going off on a nerd rage because people are responding to your tone in a similar fashion.

Seriously man, wake up.

Before replying lay off the cleric crap, there are no clerics in DAO there are mages and thus ALL MAGES have some form of healing on them.

What are you trying to say? Is English your first language? So because they are a mage they 'have to have a healing spell'?

So Putting A side starting as a mage. (Although I don't forsee you being able to have any healing spells at your disposal going that route either) But whether you can or not is not the point and it is 100% not rellevant where I am in the game either.

Yes you can make a mage that specializes in a supportive roll then when you hit 7 you can specialize in spirit healing but if that's not relevant still, I don't understand what you're asking.

What is relevant, is that since there are no clerics in DAO there should be a mage available with healing spells when you have someone going with you.

Since when does 'every' game have to have clerics? In DAO we have spirit healers ok? Sorry everything doesn't fit into your little box you call a brain but this is life. We have determined so far. You can make yourself a mage with the heal spell OR as someone has already mentioned you can level Morrigan up one! and give her the heal spell so what is the issue?

So you should get a choice if you want a healing mage, or a mage that does damage.

You do... Morrigan can be classed as a damager and Wyne can be classed as a Healer. This game, like alot of RPGs, let you mix and match what you want out of a mage. What makes a mage a certain 'class' is the spells you give it, and the way you set it's AI to react to certain conditions. But it's alittle more complex than that but I didn't want to stress you out ok?

It is seriously ridiculous how I cannot just use a mage to spam healing on my party while they attack a boss or monsters in general. Where is the free choice on how I want to defeat enemies?

You can, just because you're an illiterate ****, who can't read manuals, or understand English, and hasn't realized the fact you're an absolute ****ing Moron you don't see the choices, and frankly, it's people like you who post ****e all over the net is why I support abortion.

The impossible prison is the one you create for yourself with your own mind.

MODS: Seriously. have any of you Mod a board before? because I've been a mod on two boards in my time and this is a ****ing joke. The OP was obviously created this thread to cause a fuss and stir ****. Should have been locked when it was created and the OP issued a warning for making useless posts. Just look at his first post for god sake!

 OP /Reported

Ironic insults are ironic.

As to actually address the questions you asked OP:

"For the love of hay, when the hell do you get a mage that has healing added to your party"

The answer is: Wynne, when you do the circle quests.

"So you should get a choice if you want a healing mage, or a mage that does damage."

You already have that choice between Wynne and Morrigan

"It is seriously ridiculous how I cannot just use a mage to spam healing on my party while they attack a boss or monsters in general."

You can, do you need help on how to use the game interface?

"Where is the free choice on how I want to defeat enemies?"

Its already as free as it could be.

I am afraid that perhaps, based on your replies to people's answering of the questions which you asked in your post, that you are contradicting yourself. What exactly are you trying to say? I am afraid your english isn't very clear...

I admit, I have my doubts concerning the nature of his posts. I can't really get any real sense out of them and I get the feeling he's doing it on purpose, so trolling is what I lean towards. But, I guess there's always the possibility of either some mental disfunction or bad understanding of the English language?

Exactly my boggle. It sounds like he's whinging about a concept in game by asking rhetorical questions. If that is the case I'm not really sure why didn't just blog it.

All of you replying are complete morons, not one of you have any common sense, because none of you know how to comprehend what you read, because you don't know how to read what is actually being said.

1. No one asked for help
2. no one cares about when all of you are saying to get mages
3. It is not relevant that you get a mage after Lothering or whenever or that none of you THINK one is needed.
4. Playing the game at all has nothing to do with what is being said

it's clear none of you went to school, because nothing any of you said has anything to do with what I'm talking about.

okay I get what you're talking about. Here's the help you been asking for: It's inside the chicken tree to the left. Just go down and eat seven blueberries and then come north and read to the chimp and viola...you can choose what kind of mage to choose.

If you wanted help all you needed to do was ask!

It's because people in here automatically assume they know something. which is why the topic is the way it is now.

I have clearly stated this topic is nothing more about how there should be a mage with healing from the very beginning of the game.

So you tell me how that, gets turned into people flying in offering help and assuming things that have nothing to do with the topic, then getting pissed at me for pointing that out. People do that to me then tell me I have no business being rude?

Explain to me how exacly that works?

That's not right. You're supposed to go to Dive Rock, take off all your gear, delete your saves and jump off the cliff.

No, there is nothing clear about your post. You made the impression that you were asking for answers or help, so obivously people did what they could to satisfy you. You then proceeded to calling them dumb and stupid without reason.
If that's not legitimate reason to call you rude, I don't know what is.

If this is not the answer you wanted, then it is because I could not make out the meaning of your post because you were not being clear enough.

That's because there is no question being asked. Evryone just assumed that because no one has any comprehension

Which brings me to this question:
Perhapse all of you down syndrome illiterate morons, that apparently have absolutely no comprehension, can explain why everyone is cramming help and spoilers into this topic, then having the balls to call me rude, but yet everyone else trashed this topic and filled it with BS that has nothing to do with what the topic is about?

See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Calling others illiterate morons with no comprehension is not a very polite way of responding to people or explaining that they are mistaken.
