rip the Token system in Forza 4.
i know its a little late but EA actually could have gotten ALOT more money from those willing to spend by allowing players to buy "Tokens" that can be used ingame.
they could have charged 4 tokens for ultra-rares, allowing players to buy up to 50 for 50 bucks or something.
with otherwise single player like store with the options to spend the "Tokens" or "Credits" they could have much more likley gotten alot more buisness.
so the funny thing to me is.. while the RNG is intended to create repeats via a gambling system, they could have done much better with a direct buy system.
really there is no benifit to trying to RMT PSPs for Ultra-Rares because its all chance based, but as Forza 4 shows, if you let them buy what they want, players WILL do so.
by making the RMT aspect a instant satisfaction choice, its appeal is much greater. in a direct buy store you can put the pure credit prices really high, requiring hours and hours of play just for one unlock/upgrade. this makes the RMT aspect seem like a BETTER CHOICE. really its like sales 101...
as it is the RMT version is exactly the same as the Effort Version. theres no point in using the RMT for certain things, at best you might use 1 or 2 bought PSPs as a quick unlocking of new Rare weapons or Characters when Bioware comes out with new content. but since most players who only are working on Ultra-Rares will save up millions for the new content EA loses that buisness, and only New Players benifit from "buying" packs.
so at this point i find the RNG funny, not because of its chance based mechanics, but because for luring players into a RMT system its argueably a weaker option.
How they could have done the store with a Direct buy system but still gotten a RMT aspect.
