And your point is? If I want to level my character (and in order for it being usefull) I'll start playing SP again. I play for fun, and don't see a reason to go to bronze/silver just to level my character to the same(ish) build it used to be. I'll respec if I find it necessary.

Edit: and in my part I don't get CC anymore so.... no point to promote for me and many others.

And this is where you and everyone else who didnt promote fail at seeing the bigger picture.
You don't play for fun don't lie, if you did promoting wouldn't be an issue, I like where you bolded "you are only playing for credits" part also.

I've been on gold since the demo, and I'm level 4.7K right now and haven't yet set foot in anything but gold/platinum. (Not counting 3,4 BSing private runs with friends) I have a friend who broke 10K earlier this week and he doesn't play anything but gold. You know how? Because if you use the XP the game gave you, (the 500K XP CCs that were "useless") you could easily stack credits and buy your way back to level 20 on every character. If You don't play with a level 20 character, you see you get around 400K every gold match you play simply from XP.

A character can level from 1~9~12~14~16 in just 5 gold games. Thats with selected enemies and map. You get even more when you lay U/U/G.

I only read the first couple pages, so someone may have suggested this already. Your idea is good and probably what BW would be willing to implement. It would also be nice if they called it an "upgrade token" and once you receive it you can place it into any UR you already have. I mean, with your suggestion it would take 50 platinum games, with extraction, to get just one (which is good imo). This way you still depend on the RNG to get weapons, but you have a chance to upgrade some of the ones you like the most.

Really good idea though.

Problem with this idea is that to extract 100 Gold matches means an extra 200 minutes of play, which translates to about 10 gold farming gold matches, or 750000. Many of the people that purposely fail extraction might rather have 12 Spectre packs than an Ultrarare.

I think a better way to get EVERYONE trying for full extraction would be reducing the number of credits received in each match by 40% or so. Then, for each extracted member the team gets an extra 25%, up to double (the reduced) credits earned.

If gold currently earns 75000, in my new model would mean:

No Extraction : 45000
Sole survivor : 56250
2 survivors : 67500
3 survivors : 78750
full extraction: 90000


Note that if there's a griefer in the match who tries to screw it up for the rest of the team, everyone still gets a bit more than we get now.

This model would please all the current complainers, as it gives a 15000 credit bonus if everyone extracts and really would give everyone a reason to aim for full extraction.

Additionally, it wouldn't change the current difficulty level risk/reward balance at all (which seems to be a pretty good balance so far).

 

Agree with this too, and with "all" the ideas about the extractions.

The game encourages Bioware points against game credits, and that's unfair.

But after 40 ish PSPs (since Earth, haven't had time to play) I've gotten some 5 CC, 1 Rare. So no, I can't just stack up millions of credits just so I could get CC. and I do play for fun, but maybe our view of fun is different. I just fail to see the point of starting all over again getting my characters from 1 to 20 (as I don't have big enough friends list to play with). For the occasional giggles I might promote soldiers or sentinels since I don't use them at all. And you seem to be very keen on N7 level, but I have no intrest on that. My current 300 will do just fine

We should get said tokens from promoting too, maybe 1 token/promotion?

While this is a good idea (as a perpetual operation reward), I think it's a very far fetched idea to incentivize extractions on wave 11 (in the current iteration of the MP game).

Expanding on the idea of encouraging extractions on wave 11 (full or partial);

1. Single Use Items kept if extracted. (Mission Complete)
Exceptions to those rules would be limits on what single use equipment & ammo is kept based on difficulty. Bronze for example would only keep lvl 1 single use items (to prevent use of lvl 4 items). This needs to be the number one priority. People don't use (single use) equipment. Since the RNG nature of acquiring them in all likely hood won't be fixed, make them at least re-usable if you (& or team) play smart.

2. Cold Hard Credits on Gold/Plat (Big XP payout on Bronze/Silver).
The reward system (of escalating XP) on higher difficulties needs to be reversed. Bronze should receive Gold/Platinum XP rewards (with little credit pay outs) and Gold/Platinum should have significant credit rewards (with little to no XP reward). Basically, Bronze & Silver should reward leveling & experimentation (much more than it does now), while Gold/Plat is for the focused groups & getting paid.

3. Full Group Extraction Rewards.
Ideas like what the OP mentioned, but they have to be quickly obtainable & not RNG based. The numbers suggested by the OP for ultra rares is nonsensical. No one has that bad of luck (30-70 PSP with no UR). Sure some people go to the arcade, drop $50 on the pinball machine to get 25,000 tickets to buy a plastic spider ring, but that is the exception, not the rule nor the attraction of going to an arcade.

I even go as far to say that accolades would be the ideal solution. Prime example, N7 rank. Most players are lvl 20 (with respective classes) on Gold/Plat, so they may not be promoting classes that often. Have 10 extractions on gold reward 1x N7 level, 20 on silver, 30 on bronze (1 on Platinum ?).

To remove the loss of income for EA make the token exchange for a random the N7 reward weapon. Since these are not available through sales there would be no loss of income.

I like the idea but I'm not sure about the numbers. I'm kind stuck between thoughts right now on the number of matches needed for an UR. I think 200 matches for bronze is quite a lot especaily for beginners. I agree that you have to work for your rewards but bronze doesn't even give out 20,000 credits and could be handed out as a bonus or something. I think it encourages newer players to adventure out a little more to work up to silver, gold, platinum a little faster without being completley useless. It's kinda confusing.
