My main playthrough is pretty boring and normal.

-No I can't kill Wrex it hurts me too much.
-No they all survived the SM.
-Samara.
-No Kaidan is alive.
-Yes Mordin died curing genophage.
-Honestly have no opinion on Thane.
-Got peace between quarians and geth.

On other random playthroughs I usually get specific people killed on the SM like Garrus. Sometimes Miranda, Jacob, and Legion just to see what happens. But side missions get pretty boring without ME2 chars. I've killed and betrayed Wrex before...Never again. I never kill both of the VS I like both of them too much ;p. On my pure renegade playthroughs I always kill the geth and side with the quarians. Saved Mordin once. As well as Morinth but that was just a waste.

Ok...

Wrex on Virmire = Lives. I didn't even know he could die untill I went to the internet.

Virmire Sacrafice = Ashley. As much as I honestly liked Ashey and her opinions have much more weight after ME3, Kaidan was my bro and it seems like he and Shepard have known eachother longer.

ME2 Suicide Mission = Funny thing is, First time though, No one died! WOOT! I made sure everyone was Loyal and I had a real risk of Kasumi in the vents or Miranda leading a team, but it all worked out. :D

Samara's Loyalty Mission = Samara every time. I can see the reasoning behind choosing Morinth but not for me.

ME3's Tuchunka Arc = Mordin died a hero with me blubbering like a baby to finish the song for him

Thane = Died in a poorly coriagraphed sequence and then my best bro is never mentioned again. Bravo Bioware! BRAVO! *not amused in the slightest*

I created Peace between the Quarians and the Geth. :D Yay! I would definatly support Legion not having to sacrafice himself though as I hear some fans are unhappy about that.

Oh, and, naturally, Kaidan survived the Citadel Coup.

No one else died.

- Ashley shot him (I did a bit of meta-gaming because I wanted Wraev in ME3)
- Legion, Garrus died (I didn't recruit Thane and Tali)
- Samara
- no
- Mordin survived
- no opinion
- quarians (because of Admiral Xen!)

Wrex/Virmire- Nope, got his famillys armor

Suicide mission- No one died at all because the mission was so dam easy.

Samara or Morinth- Samara.

Ashley/Kaidan Citadel coup- They trusted me and sided with me.

Mordin/ME3- Mordin sacrificed himself to cure the krogans.

Thane- Died as a hero in the hospital.

Quarian/Geth- peace.

Really boring I know.

@coldwetn0se I know, I totally agree with you. If you want to do something right you have to do it right from the start. I'm pretty sure that most of the people who don't want to save Thane would have saved him if there had been the option from the start. The good thing is that even so, there is still a lot of people who want to see that option and BioWare should be aware of that for future DLC.

@zapphoman24 Your point is very understandable and if I was a BioWare writer I would add an option to save Thane in a way that the people who don't want to save him wouldn't have to be renegade or feel guilty for his death. If they want they can make a good story out of it... only if they want...

@giftfish you nailed exactly the point I wanted to prove with these polls and it was also a big surprise to see how most of the people like saving everybody. The main goal of this thread and the polls was to prove that although BW gave us many options to interact with the characters some of them are very unpopular (such as killing Samara or Wrex) and still they made them (and thank you for that, it's a RPG), but when it comes to Thane and 60% of the players want an option to save him they don't see it...

You know... killing Wrex is a very complex option. It's not just killing him on ME1, it's also changing a bit the story of Grunt in Tuchanka in ME2 (with a new krogan model and a new voice actor) and changing the story again in ME3. And all that for only 10% of the players? Hell, yeah! that's why this game is so great! but why not with Thane when the numbers are bigger and the story is much simpler and insignificant?

Wrex : Wrex lived
Suicide Mission : No casualties (I went in blind but won phew!)
Samara/Morinth : Chose Samara
Coup : Spared Kaidan
Mordin's fate : Mordin sacrificed himself (ALL MY FEELS!)
Thane : Yes! Hell yes!
Geth/Quarian conflict : Peace

@zapphoman24 Your point is very understandable and if I was a BioWare writer I would add an option to save Thane in a way that the people who don't want to save him wouldn't have to be renegade or feel guilty for his death. If they want they can make a good story out of it... only if they want...

This.

I mean I'm a staunch option/treatment/cure supporter, but it should definitely not be a black/white choice. It should hold a certain amount of moral gravitas but not on a good/evil scale, rather, "this story is what I want to see".
And neither choice should be seen as a "punishment" for not picking the other.

- In all my playthroughs except one I never kill Wrex, did it once out of curiosity but the game is so lacklustre without him.

- First attempt at it kinda messed up, Mordin and Miranda died but all the other times I get everyone through although in all my renegade playthroughs Jacob is always on the chopping block.

- I always choose Samara, I saved Morinth once but erm she creeps the hell out of me, damn succubus.

- Nope.

- Always let Mordin disperse the cure even in my renegade playthroughs, I just can't hurt him.

- Thane erm not that pushed to be honest. I'm fine with things the way they are.

- Always able to broker peace between them.

Thank you all for your contribution to the thread and the polls. The results are really great and I would very much appreciate it if you could post a link to this thread in other groups or discussions that you think that may be interested. I'd like to know everybody's opinion/experience with the ME squaddies and the more people that votes on the polls the better :)

Wrex: Always lives
SM: Everyone survives
Samara over Morinth in every PT
Saved Kaidan, shot Ashley on the one Ash PT I have
Heroic death for Mordin
There should have been an option to save him, if only to save him from KL and dying immediately in the game
Peace!

Edit: No poll on whether or not we let Miranda die? I let her die in my renegade PT because I honestly don't care for her that much. It was also in my renegade's nature to not trust her with the Alliance data.

I've had nearly all the characters dead at one point or another, and for the most part I even feel the ME3 experience was improved for it. A bit more of a galaxy at world, and a bit less of 'Shepard's team is the Win button.'

Only characters I haven't gone through and with deaths are Mordin, Jacob, and Miranda.

Wrex - He's loyal, saved him.

Suicide Mission - LM's are quite easy. Damn easy the first time, damn easy to metagame.

Samara vs. Morinth - Samara

VS Citadel Coup - I have his/her trust. Saved him/her.

Mordin - Gave his like for the krogans. Quite a hero.

Thane - Died saving the salarian councilor. It's a shame he passed away.

Quarian vs. Geth - Made peace, but if forced to, would choose geth.

@CDRSkyShepard I honestly forgot about the option to kill Miranda in ME3. I wanted to have a general view and only did polls for the ones that came to my mind at the moment. I'm pretty sure it's not the only one I forgot...

Wrex - Alive.
2 casualties, Jacob and Tali.
Samara.
Kaidan lives.
Mordin sacrifices himself.
Who's he?
Peace is impossible to be made since I want Kaidan to save Shep from that falling elevator. Quarians live.

As for all these decisions, I've tried all of them just to see how things turn out after. My 'preferred' ones are generally the ones that are 'best' or the most idealistic overall, however (saving squadmates, making peace, etc).

I loved him in ME2 and his character is an utter mess in ME3 as well as his romance. Many of his fans honestly agree and I was ticked at this...

Yeah, well... I agree that "facepalm" is the best definition of Thane's story in ME3...

Hi guys! we're stuck in about 150 votes for each poll. It would be great to get a few more :D

Remember, polls on the first post, vote on them all. They're very simple and short. Thanks! ^^

Voted. And in my canon:

- Wrex was killed by Ashley
- Everyone lived through the Suicide Mission
- Saved Morinth
- Kaidan trusted me first thing, and lived
- Mordin lived
- Yes, for those who romanced him
- Made peace between the Geth/Quarians
