Like you haven't seen that title before?  :?  OK, so yesterday I downloaded DA:O from the EA store.  Very excited to
play.  Game installed well (or so it looks) and I installed patch
1.02.  BUT...  mouse is invisible... it is very touchy and I cannot see
where it is on the screen until it highlights a button.  Mainly
though... no character movement in the game.  Keyboard works for camera
movement and zooming in abnd out, but I cannot get my character to
move.  I'm dying here.  Can someone help?  Thanks.

Is your video card drivers updated using the drivers from your manufacturer's website? What about DirectX? And .net framework? Also, what Windows are you using?

Thank you for the reply.  I appreciate the time you put into helping.

I
just installed Win 7 about 2 days before DA:O  I thought that should
give me all the latest drivers, however, it sounds like you are saying
I need to go to the specific site of my sound card.  I am still trying
to get used to Win 7 so it takes me a bit to look stuff up.  I do think
my direct X is also brand new.  About my .net framework, I have no idea.  Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

If you ahve any ideas I will keep at it.  Will install new sound card drivers first.  And again thank you.

there should also be mouse options ( in the control panel) for the mouse to run either in hardware or software mode. try switching whatever it is curretly set to, which is most likely hardware mode, so switch it to software only mode and give that a go.

Hi Sobriety,

Thank you for replying. The group has been great. Turns out that pointer trails were switched on in windows and when I shut that off, everything worked. Again, thank you and have fun.
