I know difficulty scales but I'm just wondering if Orzammar is doable right after Lorthering. My main concern is having my characters leveled enough to make the Broodmother fight doable. Also wondering if anyone has any mage spells that are essential for sending Broodmother back to the abyss.

You can in fact, complete Orzammar. It will be difficult but yea, you can do it and it has been done by many. Broodmother is easy if you have an extra bow for you DPS to use, just have then stand in the stone platforms where the tentacles can't hit them much.

Good luck.

On the Missing manual (http://dragonage.gul...allenge_scaling) site Orzammar is rated at lvl 10+ content and combined with my experience it should be doable despite I have not done it yet as the Circle is inevitable to me.

Broodmother is ranked as "tank" with low intelligence and magic which indicates she should be vulnerable to basically any (mental?) magic damage. I am not aware of any particular spells, but if everything fails bow does not and iirc she does ranged nature damage which is the only concern really.

At low level I would "fear" the spiders more than Broodmother, the rewards are sweet though.

Yeah I'd rather take that ranged nature damage than having her nasty tentacles all over me. But yea, it is doable.

Trajan,

As Sferzar says, the Brood Mother is a pretty easy fight--IMO one of the easiest bosses--IF you do it right.

I had Oghren, Leliana and Morrigan in my party for this battle. You want to position yourself on the stone platforms near the entrance and exit from the chamber, the tentacles can't hit you there (I didn't discover this until VERY late in the fight, when everyone but my P/C was dead. If I'd known from the beginning I probably could have killed her without a casualty). I then had Morrigan lay down Blizzard and Tempest on the Brood Mother, while Leliana and the P/C hammered her with arrows. Use special arrows (ice, fire, etc) if you have them.

When the Brood Mother spawneds her minions I had Oghren and my P/C (mine is a warrior) defend Morrigan and Leliana, while they continued hitting the Brood Mother. Keep hitting her with Morrigan's AoE attack spells (blizzard, tempest, inferno, etc), and fire off your ranged attack spells while waiting for the AoEs to cool down. If you need to, mindblast or CoC any of the minions that get too close, but I kept her and Leliana focusing on the boss while my P/C and Oghren ran interference.

I finally lost all of my party but the P/C when the Brood Mother spawned a pair of Shrieks in, but because I didn't know about the stone platforms my party was too spread out to support each other effectively (Shrieks are tough opponents to deal with 1v1).

A lot of it is going to depend on your party's makeup, but the two warriors + rogue + mage combination works VERY well if you give one or both of your warriors bows in addition to your rogue. The added bonus of your AoE spells is that you may be able to take out the minions while blasting the Brood Mother at the same time.

Awesome I didn't know that safe spot, I had a problem also with my party being to spread out and unable to support each other, so I got wiped very quickly.
Im gonna give this another go on my current play through, when I get to Orzimmar.

I also find that if I bring Wynn and she has the glyphs line...if you have her lay a glyph of warding (which improves her regen)...she will stay on it. So have her place one on the rock spot and she'll stay on the rock, on the glyph, for the most part. She will usually move to wherever there is a glyph of warding.

Also if your rogue has some firebombs or whatnot, you can toss a few of them at broodmother as well.
