No actually i think he fits right in perfectly. With the level of absurdity and stupidity going on in the game, why he is a perfect match for it.

Sure, if Mass Effect wanted to be very suckish then it sure deserves Kai Leng.

Everyone who entered ME3 plot became an idiot. Illusive man- check. Earth military admirals - check. Shepard - check ( This isnt about tactics) just a few examples.

Are you implying that Shepard didn't have his/her fair share of moments of extreme idiocy back in ME1? Because I recall Shepard comparing the FCW to the genophage and asking if asari could reproduce with their own species.

The genophage comment was more ignorance of what the Genophage actually was. But yeah the asari comment is ****ing moronic.

GAH forgot that, havent played ME1 in years. Ok another example, calling the normandy down to evacuate ur squad in the middle of battle, but only evacuating ur squad and not the other soldiers that are dieing , Oh btw harbinger is toasting everyone with his laserz.

And let's not forget his ever well thought out last words to the council duirng saren's trial, "You've made your decision, I won't waste my breath!"  Truly an excellent and well thought closing argument.

"You are not even alive, not really. you are just a machine, and machines can be broken." Such inspired and truly visonary lines to say to the ancient sentient war ship, shepard is so intellegant in mass effect 1.

Aren't all of those choices that the Player can make?

Shepard going stupid when Kai Leng shows up is entirely plot-enforced.  Especially the whole "Shoot at him through the glass instead of putting the CSEC squad skycar into a roll spin".

The thing that bugs me the most is his impenetrable hand shield.  So... A single little shield emitter in the palm that has to share space with the palm gun thingy is somehow vastly stronger than an entire array of KB emitters over an entire hardsuit?

Me in gameplay against a Phantom: *WHAM SLAM BAM* (Wham = Vanguard Charge, Slam = Vanguard Nova, Bam = Graal augmented by Shotgun Synergy), and a splattered phantom that stood no chance. Cutscene against Kai Leng: Peashooter gun, and that's it.

He bugs me in the same way the two ghost guys in Matrix Reloaded did: They're just "cool power guys" who are there solely to be mustache-twirlingly evil.

Than maybe an Alfred-quote?

"So, why write ME3 like that?"

"Well, because they thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like a coherent story. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the franchise burn."

Yes, what we didn't need are Hollywood standoffs where you are more powerless to do something like Virmire, and Troy Baker's FF poor voicework.

They should patch it so that Kai Leng is the Catalyst, thus making him the real evil of the Mass Effect series.
