I definitely think Kai Leng and Shepard were set up to be reflections of each other.

killing him was fun, but the problem was he was so poorly written compared to what he was in Retribution and that plot armor was annoying

I was hoping for some LI angry sex. But I was denied. You can ask Joker out in ME3 but not Kai Leng, disgraceful.
