I personally found Kai Leng to be embarrassingly stereotypical, & honestly outlandish to be associated entirely in the ME universe.

And he craves the Illusive mans affection.

its not that some people hate him as a character, he was good in the novels, its really how that did him in the game

And I totally agree.  I'm glad they killed off the baddie in 1 and made room for new enemies, but I wish they had made it someone that was less obnoxious and more legitimate and believable than the "evil" certain someones the KKK were "heroically" fighting off in The Birth of a Nation.*

Are you implying that Shepard didn't have his/her fair share of moments of extreme idiocy back in ME1? Because I recall Shepard comparing the FCW to the genophage and asking if asari could reproduce with their own species.

The difference between these lines is that in ME1 you could usually (if not always) decide to say stupid ****, where in ME3, oppositely, you can't (would you rather say something stupid, on your own will, and be embarassed and take whatever consequences as a result of saying it, or have someone else completely trash your reputation/fail to represent your opinion/get you into deep **** by talking for you, and saying something stupid?).   The only problem (and this applies to all of Bioware's recent games) is that the paraphrasing isn't always effective at telling you what you're going to say, thus you may expect a different result and be dissappointed or frustrated by what you actually get - it's happened to me more than once.  It's one of the reasons I liked Dragon Age: Origins better on the matter of dialogue trees (and, note, I think I like Mass Effect more on a personal level).

Though I think most lines were, indeed, more intelligent.  Or, at least, better written.  But I'm getting way off topic.







*(To clarify the metaphor, if it sounds like it's something else: I'm saying Kai Leng is as ridiculous a villain as the "gonna rape all your wives" "evil" black man stereotype of a pro-KKK silent film made in 1915.  Albeit much less offensive.)

The only thing I liked about Kai Leng was that he made Thane go out with a bang, and allowed me to avenge him later.

Don't hate Troy Baker, he is excellent. It's just that Bioware gave him extremely crappy lines.
