By comfortable, I mean you're the last person standing after the team wipes for some reason. It's you, the boss, maybe 2 healthy bosses, and some peon units.

And you're not a weapon specialist class like infiltrator, or soldier.

Kindly avoid including IV level consumeables.

I'm generally trying to get a feel for where the line is between flattening your ammo on their armor in near futility, and actually hurting the boss so you can take them down.

Kindly exclude high level mods, and consumeables. Also kindly exclude the missile launcher.

Also, if your first answer is the pirahna, kindly supply a second answer.

P.S.
In hindsight, I probably should have asked "What's the lightest weapon that's not Ultra Rare that you'd take into a platinum match if you're not a solider, or an infiltrator?"

Basically I'm trying to find a balance between light weight, and killing a banshee, Atlas, or geth prime without dying of boredom first. Especially without resorting to X level weapons with bleeding edge mods, and consumeables.

The least rare, the better.

Talon X and Phaeston X, as a close second choice.

The Hurricane is very light and has great DPS. Now with the HVB, you're that much more effective against armor.

Even lighter than that is the Carnifex, which is the standard for a lot of caster classes.

Both of those guns do enough damage to whittle down bosses.

the key to taking out bosses in Gold is not just having a good gun, but a good array of powers and tactics.

Destroyers aren't in the equasion as are all soldiers, and infiltrators, save maybe the shadow as they tend to care about cooldowns over weapon weight.

I'm trying to get an idea of weapons to use in gold that can hurt bosses that don't kill cooldown. Ideally weapons that casters can use comfortably to fight banshees, atlas units, and geth primes with. To a lesser extent, brutes.

On top of that, I'm trying to find weapons that the average person will ahve access to as opposed to high end X level weapons stacked with IV level consumeables, and V level mods.

I often carry a scorpion with ulm and ext barrel, as it ignores armour. Also less spamming so less time exposed, and if you shoot them in the feet it kills phantoms pretty well.

I assume we are talking about Banshees, Atlas, and Primes only. And light meaning 175%+ or better. If that's the case, I think Hurricane, Carnifex or Paladin (ULM). Anything else would be classified as too heavy and anything else probably won't DPS as well.
