You'd be correct in the assumption.

Brutes, IMO, are kinda squishy as far as armored units go.

Destroyers aren't in the equasion as are all soldiers, and infiltrators, save maybe the shadow as they tend to care about cooldowns over weapon weight.

I'm trying to get an idea of weapons to use in gold that can hurt bosses that don't kill cooldown. Ideally weapons that casters can use comfortably to fight banshees, atlas units, and geth primes with. To a lesser extent, brutes.

On top of that, I'm trying to find weapons that the average person will ahve access to as opposed to high end X level weapons stacked with IV level consumeables, and V level mods.

The acolyte is fairly light and has great damage on shields, a lot of the time if i'm playing a non tech character and can't power down barriers/shields the acolyte fills that gap. Then I can spam warp/reave/pull/nova/smash etc.  And the acolyte isnt terrible vs armor either. I also find myself hitting bank-shots a lot too if i'm in close quarters.

Lightest as in weight? or lightest as in crappy? And what kind of boss are we talking about? Because a Banshee is a PITA to kill if it's just you and a low power weapon, because you need to run away when she starts teleporting, and during that time she will happily recharge her frikkin' barrier.

My Kroguard is often left standing with his Hurricane against boss types. Atlas, Prime, Brute and Phantom don't bother me so much, but the banshee is a nightmare for him to kill. (Because I HAVE to run away, as he can't dodge.)

I typically break out the ML at that point...

Talon X. I even use it with my Kroguard most of the time. You don’t need the Ultra Light Material to get 200%.

Well if I'm not a weapons user, then any weapon.

As a caster, I'd feel comfortable soloing a boss without a gun at all.

Both, actually. The lightest, crappiest weapon you'd feel comfortable shooting a boss with.

As stated before, Atlus Units, banshees, geth primes.

Missile launcher, for whatever reason, is not an option. You have to use your powers, and weapon(s).

Preferrably you're a class that can't nuke a boss with them. Asari Justicar (Pull doesn't work on armored units), or a vanguard.

Sort of a worst case scenario.

Just yesterday I was messing around with my bro and finished a wave on Gold, solo.
Had a few minions, and a Banshee—I was Asari Adept (lvl 1) Took them down with a Predator X—high caps, piercing mod. It can be done, but not fun.

I’d say an N7 Eagle and/or Katana. I trick out my Eagle with a piercing mod and high caps, and the Katana with a Smart Choke and High Calibre Barrel.

"Eventually" is the problem. Boring your fallen comrades to death while you're kiting a banshee for 10 minutes is what I'm trying to avoid while caring about how fast my powers recharge.
