Simple way to fix Sniping with Shotguns

A shotgun is suppose be a mostly close range weapon (Crusader, GPS excluded), yet some classes, such as Geth, Destroyer and Turian can make them into sniper rifles that ignore shieldgate. You can snipe with those classes across maps with no problem. 

So just disable the accuracy bonuses those classes gets for shotguns ONLY. I mean I get that Smart Choke tightens the pellet spread. It's a physical mod that goes into the weapon. But making a shotgun accurate using space magic built into your trigger finger is stupid. 

Problem solved. Now we can have our Piranhas, Raiders, Claymores and new weapons too.

Wait. That's your job. Still not sure how they'd do it, but hey- it'd work.

You do know that many people equip piranha on everything that has at least one functioning arm, to great effect (including this guy here)? Such a change won't matter there, the regular smart choke is enough to rip bosses apart in mid range.

Still, I find this a nice idea. If they did this and buffed sniper rifles in general, it could result in them... being used at all.

I don't see Shadows with Piranhas dominate my Shadow with a Paladin. I do see GI's and Destroyers dominate with them.

I would probably consider looking at the Smart Choke, to be honest.

I wouldn't consider ever not using it on a pellet based shotgun. It's just too effective for them.

I disagree, I think shotguns are fine the way they are and to use them like a "sniper" as you say they need to be in a class that is built to make it like that, and to put on the correct amps and mods.

So its not an open problem like how the krysae was.

I think this is a better idea then your first round against the GI/destroyer the other day. It does need attention, one way or another - keep the ideas coming :)

I have never seen anyone snipe with a shotgun in this game .... Ever

In my opinion screw that noise you posted but give the shotgun a damage bonus for being hipfired instead of aimed down site fired. You know the reverse of the snipers that do less damage when fired from hip instead of scope.

According to the nerf ducks that worship the ground of the 0.01% of the community that can solo platinum with a level 1 drell with no skill points spent and a preditor X ... Yes we apparently do still need to be nerfed while the enemies get buffed.

This is a horrible idea that would gimp the one true advantage the Turian Soldier has. I don't get this argument that accuracy bonus is the problem, but somehow the +300% damage capable with the GI is fine...
