If they were genuine, why not just re-release ME1 for PS3? ME2 and ME3 already run on PS3 so why not do that? It seems obvious that this offer appeals more to PS3 Players.

There is no extra content

The ME3 DLCs (and possible all of the ME2 DLCs) will not be included EC will be obviously

Nothing is changing/being added/removed

The only benefit I can see is that you can play ME1 on PS3 and have one case for all of your discs.

I bought the LOTR Extended Editions (after I purchased the regular DVDs) because their value was the extra content they added. These games don't add extra content - what is the point?

This shift in strategy wouldn't be because they want to set a trap or anything... right? The Crucible is well on its way to completion by now but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the Reapers' new tactics...

Its confirmed you will be able to buy ME1 as a stand alone gam on PSN. The trilogy is great for those who don't own any Mass Effect game.

Yes, as a digital download.

I may trade in my three standard versions and get this, as I never had a chance to get Collector's Editions

I'm not trying to be a downer, but anyone here that is thinking updated graphics/engine in the trilogy pack needs to give up on those hopes immediately. It would take an entirely separate development team, lots of money, and time to do so for ME1/ME2.

And if BioWare had gone out of their way to do something like that, they would have made it crystal clear in this announcement. The trilogy pack is exactly what the press release says it is: a box set of each game.

The only thing to hope for is the inclusion of DLC. At the very least, ME3 should have the extended cut ending by default.

I think it's because everyone forgot ME1's graphics are still very good

I really hope that they do not do this, but this is EA we are talking about... The worst company in America. They are not above that.

A prequel would be so stupid. A non human protagonist that has zero chance at successfully defeating the Reapers would be so pointless and uninspiring. I don't care if EA pushed them to release a trilogy pack with no graphics update. I own all three games and all dlc so it wouldn't be for me, but it might hold interest to some. Obviously ps3 users are getting a win here regardless.

And this cycle pre ME1 would be so dumb too. 

The worst part is, you just know they would push Synthesis in that game.

@Bill Casey- By "pushing synthesis" I mean using the synthesis we see at the end of ME3 in any way that results in the entire galaxy merging DNA between organics and Synthetics to end the war, so the reapers wouldn't have to harvest them. Synthesis is a reaper way, I have no problem with the Reapers themselves advocating Synthesis, because it just adds to the fact that it is a terrible thing. I'm sorry, I can get carried away with bashing Synthesis because I do not like it.
