It's also not essential to the validity of the IT. ME3 doesn't need a new ending for the IT to be true.

I thought the very purpose of the indoctrination theory and this topic was to get a new ending.  The rest of you can believe what you want, but I'm not going to justify the garbage ending that we were originally given (or the EC, for that matter).

Estebanus is right. The IT thread is not a campaign to get a new ending, although, I think we all want one more than anyone else. Posted Image

And... on top. Posted Image

the point of indoctrination theory is figuring out what is REALLY happening in ME games.

Actually, his wording implies that they're unsure of what life exists on other planets AT THIS POINT IN TIME But yes, you're right. I should have said he acts like Turian, Asari,Krogan aren't still out there.

Get it now?

Actually no. It does not sound anything like that at all. Must be your personal interpretation.
the kid asks - what will i find there? - Anything you could imagine!
And that means the asari, the krogan, the turian, + anything else. Certainly after all this time listening to those stories full of asari krogan turian, etc - the kid has a concept of them and thus can imagine them perfectly fine - so this includes in anything you can imagine.

I agree with Spotless. "Anything you can imagine" sounds like "lol I have like no idea lol" to me...

Is there something we missed people?

Casey Hudson wanted everyone to speculate about what the ending means. If IT is wrong, what the hell is it? What did we miss? What's going on? I'm so confused right now. If he intended speculation, certain elements of the game to be taken non-literally, referred to the end as "the perfect illusion" and intended Shepard to be indoctrinated until at least November, how could IT be wrong?

But if it is wrong, what the hell? I don't get it? I hope he eventually explains what the hell happened sometime. Posted Image

"There are billions of stars out there" surely implies much more than just Asari, Turians and Krogans, especially if a good amount of time has passed. "Anything you can imagine" does not mean "I don't know", instead I see it like "maybe some of the stuff I told you about, maybe something else".

I thought the idea was to have him indoctrinated until he wakes up!

Haha!!  Shows how much of a fan I am.

Even linking all the stuff will take a while.

I wrote some of it on the WNT thread, on the last couple of pages there, and also put some links there to another forum where I tried to explain my thoughts to another guy.

EDIT: oh damn I just responded to the guy again and forgot about this message.  Whoops.  I've been writing this for hours...

I posted some stuff in the WNT thread here.  Also includes a link for a thread I made.

The other forum stuff starts here (near the bottom, but goes on for pages after that).

Good luck getting through all that!

I'll stick a summary of what I sent to spotlessvoid somewhere too

I have no idea. I am certain IT is 85% right. There is a ridiculous amount of foreshadowing its got to on the right track. I agree with you that there still is something missing. Maybe it will be revealed in upcoming DLC? But IT not being on the right track? That does not compute.

Maybe the only thing "Lots of speculation from everyone!" means is.... lots of speculation from everyone.

About what? Who knows, who cares... As a general rule, it's good to have a lot of people talking about your game.

We've had the ending of popular TV series make the cover of TIME magazines because they warranted lots of speculation from everyone. Obviously, that's the kind of thing Mac/Casey wanted from ME3. A conclusion that has everyone talking.

Finito.

Does anyone know what happened to Episode 2 of Choose Wisely series? It's already the last friday of this month, so it should come out already.

Reposting this incase anyone missed it from last night, just a theory for now, guesswork.

gunslinger_ruiz wrote...

The Leviathan, the Thorian, and the Rachni developed means of indoctrination through evolution instead of technology. The Rachni less developed, they can talk through certain (dead/dying) species but not control them. they can "sing" to each other across systems. None of them developed with the technology of the Reapers (The Citadel, the Mass Relays).

There's a pattern here, a link, I'm not sure I'm seeing it as it should be, could use some help.

Shepard is said to be an anomaly, could it be he/she's the first organic of our time to develop a means of indoctrination? Or a variant of it, very subtle, and that's how he/she seems to inspire people so easily, convince them to do things they normally wouldn't like give up their life of crime, or lie to a commanding officer/merc leader (with a high paragon/renegade/repuation score of course), That spark that makes people want to follow you to hell itself.

Is this how Shepard has been resisting indoctrination thus far? An anomaly... Hmm.

I came to the conclusion in real life that leadership is a subtle form of indoctrination, so it makes sense. Posted Image

I''m meaning an indoctrination ability in a sci-fi sense, like telepathy or mind reading. Biological indoctrination as opposed to using machines though.

Leadership in real life can be viewed as a subtle form of literal indoctrination I suppose.

From google:

Indoctrinate: Teach (a person or group) to accept a set of beliefs uncritically: "broadcasting was a vehicle for indoctrinating the masses".

That is pretty interesting idea, cool! I like it, there has always been something... Interesting about Shepard.

2.0 if that's the case, by all means go ask Casey if that's his plan. Also welocme to the IT thread. The videos are on the first page about Indoctrination, how it works, what's happening at the end of ME3. Also if you need more info on IT ask Banshee, he keeps records of the things we find, and we discusses.

There needs to be something more than "speculation" to counter the most agressive opposition. Whatever happens on the Geth dreadnought or on Ilos, it has to concur to some "secret" purpose, not just show that "Bioware is winking at IT" or "There must be something going on". Those two last "memes" only open the door to the opposition like "bad writing", "reused assets", "bad game mechanics" and "simple bug or glitch". There needs to be compelling links between "pieces of evidence", Bioware would doubtly sprinkle all kinds of unrelated stuff just for the fun of having its game torn apart and scrutinized to the last bad texture.

Since EC gave more infos that seemingly relate to after Shepard "wakes up", there needs to be an explanation for this jump in time, which is unnecessary in "Control" or "Synthesis". Someone proposed that Shepard had some "telepathic link" while the Reapers were toying inside his memories, giving him a glimpse of "probable future events" from the Reaper's perspective. Does this holds up on its own? What's the "hole" in this proposal?

Could it also be that Shepard has developed/is developing the perfect will, the human spirit, to resist successfully indoctrination, thus making all species with indoctrination-like powers obsolete? Those with true leadership skills are the ones with this kind of will. Shepard can't be the only one. He's been hanging around with the best, Garrus, Vega, Wrex, etc. but that's just me.
