Getting back to my question...the default choices for ME 2 definetly gave a more renegade vibe for Shep (and I'm talking about w/o the ability to choose in the interactive comic)...what was the vibe for ME 3 (haven't played as a default character yet)?

DefaultShep is a complete idiot who does everything wrong. He is the worst player ever. Of all time.

My point was to pass judgement on that character - but to use it as a tool to help us analyze the endings...trying to get inside the developer's head if you will to get a better idea of what they intended for the game.  Which is highly relevant to the end choice, IT and what may occur in ME 4.

Makes sense, but I'm pretty sure they just made everything bad so you have to import.

That and those playing without an import are more than likely to be unaware of the consequences of the defaults...

If you look at the pic from the end of ME2 there are only four or so unique designs, so the others are most likely the troop transports and processor ships mention in various places. One variant is seen on the Cerberus Lab N7 mission; Glacier in MP.

Ok!  So there are only four unike designs! That sounds like there is a story to tell there to  me! How about you? Imagine! All the hordes of the reapers are actually some mindless gorund troops (while being each smart as sovereign) - yet we have these four unique ones! Bosses to hunt and kill? :D

Lol, no I mean all 295 Reapers use the same four models more or less evenly.

You know, since Shep doesn't complete any of the ME2 loyalty missions in the default set of choices, the only real indicator of whether ME2 Shep was Paragon or Renegade is the Collector base, which was destroyed.  But there's still the matter of how all the ME1 choices were either Renegade or not made.  I'd say that default Shep, choices wise, anyway, is at least a Renegon.

Thanks.  Knowing this...what would you think is the impact of the tone that Bioware is trying to set with the character on the end of the game - keeping in mind that IT is possible?

It would seem like default Shepard is a victory at any costs kind of guy.  And perhaps more importantly, they give you the Collector base choice that benefits people who choose Destroy.  If some of you aren't aware of what I mean by this, I mean that it makes it easier to get the version of Destroy where the Earth isn't destroyed.  Not the version of Destroy with the breath scene, mind you, but still.

Correct me if I am wrong...but then what you are getting from the tone set by the developer is to choose destroy.  If the tone being set was truly intended as a hint to what the player should choose...how does that impact IT?

Well, given the fact that it's the only ending where Shepard even has a CHANCE of surviving, and that it's already the ending that we've concluded is the ending that let's Shep resist indoctrination, I'm guessing that it reinforces what we've already concluded.  Do you concur with this conclusion?

From the mouth of Gamble himself...although I am not sure if that is the exact quote...it was from the Mass Effect Panel at SDCC I believe, should be on youtube...let me see if I can find it...

It could work if we had seen any of those models by now - reapers are after all havv come in full force. But no - all we have seen are the destroyers, and the cuttlefish-reapers. And they all look the same.

Because the others aren't for combat/time constraints.

In short yes.  I think that it is amazing that people seem to be lost in regards to the choice at the end, despite all the forshadowing and hints (subtle and otherwise) at what we should choose...

Oh, please don't use time constrains. )) The had time do design them and put them there in the first place.

As for they aren't for combat so what? We aren't exactly fighting a lot of reapers. And we see a lot more of them than we actually fight.

So my question stands what is up with those other disignes of the reapers? How come we have not yet meet any of those? why don't the look like the default template? even the destroyers sort of look like the default template but smaller.

Now remember. Mac Walters (who wrote Arrival and wrote the ending of ME3) sucks at writing and foreshadowing... ;) ...I mean really. Stuff like this should give people hope about the ending and BioWare.

in Arrival, Bioware had the right idea in making Harbinger similar to Sovereign. So what happened Bioware?

And the stealth part of the mission was fun
