"But only now do I truly feel alive. That is your influence."- EDI, FOB, before you pick a choice (Not an exact quote but roughly the same). Sounds like EDI didnt need synthesis.D.Sharrah wrote...

Well in synthesis you would share thoughts with the Reapers...
The thing that bothered me about Edi's speech was the tone - it was all, "Shepard made it so I am a real girl"...but if you took the time to talk to her throughout the game - this was pretty much already happening (at least if you went paragon)...

The major player with something to gain are the Reapers, they know what the krogan are capable of, that is why they wanted an army of them in ME1.D.Sharrah wrote...
Was trying to read through some of the pages to catch...but saw something that interested me and felt the need to post. So if by not reading all the pages to catch up, I missed someone saying this I apologize. But earlier it seems the discussion of the Surkesh Mole came up again...with of course accusations being thrown around all over the place. I have said before, that I think that the mole mentioned on Surkesh is not that important - simply because it is not brought up again. The mole's impact is only on that part of the story.
But as I said, seeing the discussion again got the wheels turning. If we are to truly discover the identity of the mole, we need to like at what is happening at that specific moment in the story. While taking into account all of the machinations of the universe. Simply put...what is the arc, who are all the players, and what are their motivations.
When you do this I think it is fair to say that the immediate arc being dealt with is the Genophage Cure - and while this has ramifications on the rest of the universe as a whole, these are better dealt with when looking at the major players' motivations. To me, the major players' for this moment in this arc are - Wrex (or Wreav, although I don't know why anyone would have this guy), Victus and the Dalatross. Wrex wants the cure to bring his people back to relevance (Wreav the same, but his relevance is making war against the rest of the galaxy). Victus wants to do what is necessary to get aid for his people. And the Dalatross does not want to repeat "the mistake" with the Krogan again.
If we look at things from this angle...we could see that the major player that has something to be gained from the Surkesh mission failing is...the Dalatross. And the reason that the mole is never mentioned again, is by the end of this arc there is a resolution to this question. Linron fits...I have other reasons to believe this, but just let this ruminate a bit.
If the Dalatrass wanted the females dead she could've done that at any moment, the females were in salarian custody and in bad shape so an "accidental" death wouldn't be suspicious.

But the females were dying...slowly...for all we know Eve would have died as well if Shep and crew hadn't gotten her out of there...
And it its not even the last time that the Dalatross tries to undermine the cure...asking you to ignore the sabotage and "deal" with Mordin...

That is exactly what I am saying, if she wanted the females dead why call Cerberus? I think the Dalatrass is not stupid enough to trust an anti-alien splinter group to access a secret facility to sabotage a cure while the galaxy is at war. The transmission comes within the base minutes before Shepard arrives? I think she might have other ways of alerting Cerberus trough confidential channels.D.Sharrah wrote...

To me it sounds as if an indoctrinated agent learnt about it and sent a message out.
Also Mordin has something to say about it "Females kept secret. Possibly a mole in STG. Could be indoctrinated."

Shepard arose from nowhere as a rogue variable in the Reaper's carefully laid plan to control galactic evolution. *That* is one of the reasons the Reapers find Shepard so intriguing. He has defied all of the pressures and lures they place on organic life to the degree that, as Leviathan said, his "victories are more than chance." Shepard is living proof that the Reapers are fallible.
The Synthesis choice breaks Shepard down into his core components. In other words, Synthesis helps the leading Reaper Intelligence learn more about galactic evolution and impose more control over its course. This interpretation of Synthesis makes the end visions true for both literalists and ITers, in a way.
Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts. Oh, and I found a neat link between the Collectors and Cerberus: The Cerberus HQ is a space station around an enormous, dying star. The Collector base is a space station in orbit around a black hole, a.k.a an enormous, dead star
