Still catching up on the thread, suddenly had this realization.

The catalyst, AKA, the Guardian.

Q: What could he be guarding?
A: The reapers

In Control, Shepard supposedly becomes the new 'Guardian' right?

The answer is in the Control ending.

Just replace every instance of 'the many' with 'the Reapers', and you'll see what I mean.

Eternal. Infinite. Immortal. The man I was used these words, but only now do I truly understand them. And only now do I understand the true extent of the sacrifice. Through his death I was created. Through my birth, his thoughts are freed. They guide me now, give me reason, direction. Just as he gave direction the the ones who followed him, the ones who helped him achieve his purpose. Now my purpose. To give the Reapers hope for a future. To ensure that all have a voice in their future. The man I was knew that he could only achieve this by becoming something greater. There is power in control. There is wisdom in harnessing the strengths of your enemy. I will rebuild what the Reapers have lost. I will create a future with limitless possibilities. I will protect and sustain. I will act as Guardian for the Reapers. And throughout it all, I will never forget. I will remember the ones who sacrificed themselves so that the Reapers could survive. And I will watch over the ones who live on. Those who carry the memory of the man I once was. The man who gave up his life to become the one who could save the Reapers.

If each Reaper is a nation, the Reapers would indeed be the many...

Now isn't THAT an interesting thought...  I KNEW there was a reason that the Control monologue scared the crap out of me (I have seriously nicknamed the Control ending the Scare the Crap Out of Me Ending. :D).

Edit: Also, TOP! :o

The Reapers are at least twenty thousand cycles...

We're one cycle, so according to my calculations... carry the three...
Yeah, twenty thousand is more than one...

And no, I'm not trying to be insulting, I just figured it would be appropriate. :D:P

So according to this, it pretty much says that the Reapers made you shoot Anderson. I know some probably it figured out, but I'd just like to confirm it with the game's files (for those who may be new):

Posted Image

-TIM casts ReaperIndoc spell
-Shepard concentrates to shoot. (obviously doesn't want to fire the gun)
-Reapers give him a little push (shove)....Assuming direct control!
-Whispering starts.
-Reapers fire the shot.
-Anderson is shot.

Just replace every instance of 'the many' with 'the Reapers', and you'll see what I mean.

EDI: I am Legion, for we are many. (during Legion's conversation on the Normandy)

Sovereign. We are legion. The time of our return is coming. Our numbers will darken the sky of every world. You cannot escape your doom.

could just be bug fixes, but if that were the case, would it really be their "largest patch"? "been in dev for months"? "future things"?

I don't understand this.
Surely if they're patching things they'd want to release patches in chunks as problems are solved, rather than leaving problems unsolved for months waiting to release a big patch.
Could be positive for us, although it could just be nonsensical

The Illusive Man made you shoot Anderson...
Because the Illusive Man was controlling you, but the Reapers were controlling him so he couldn't control the Reapers, but you can control the Reapers because the Reapers said you could...

TIM who was being controlled by the Reapers was controlling you, and then the Reapers say that you can control them because they aren't controlling you...

Seems legit.

Every Xbox patch costs them 40,000 dollars. I can see why they wait to solve it in just one.

Hmm I noticed something...
the Geth Dreadnaught is weird (ok that I noticed before) but after the mission you get Anderson on the line and it's the first time he tells you about London, also you can meet with Steve where if you hit the Paragon interrupt and ask for the ship it's the SSV London.
Seriously?
(Though I currently have no idea if the Steve and Anderson thing is based on missions you did, in this playthrough I only did Priority missions and the Rachni mission as Requirement for Tuchanka so far)

Also could it be that one or some of the Admirals are indoctrinated?
I mean starting a war with the Geth right when the Reapers arrive and even using their live ships? Maybe the developed flashbang for the Geth was also actually the Reapers playing both sides? I mean it's awfully convenient for them.

Yes Microsoft (and Sony btw) demand a huge amount of money for patches because they first have to get through a MS quality assurance (in addition to inhouse QA) It doesn't really stop games from being released with more bugs then clouds in the sky, but it's generating money for MS, and companies go with it because console piracy is still less than on pc.

OT: What's the consensus on the Raider? I refuse to spend any bit of my stockpiled small fortune until a proper DLC drops, but was curious.

It's very fun, but I only have it at level I right now. I won't have a proper opinion until it's higher.

Also, we know that the new DLC will have some new Gear at the very least, so keep saving Posted Image

A reload canceler's wet dream apparently.  Spreads worse than the piranha (yeah, I didn't know that was possible either) but has some incredible CQC DPS.  I'd say it'll be about 2 days tops before we get some video of someone molesting an Atlas in melee range and people acting like it can do that to a cartwheeling phantom across the map.

Another thought: why have the Geth experimented and improved on the research of Project Overlord? It's named even if you didn't do the DLC. Why do research on this interface of organics and machines... owait.

(the blue glowing eyes and the flash like the banshee screems are nice too)

Also maybe it's familiar for her brain because she is indeed a vi which thinks it's Shepard but is not etc :D

$40k is basically pocket change to bioware. If this thing's been in development for months it's cost them a lot
more than $40k to develop. Months of dev time, even if it's only a relatively small part of the staff, and you're talking in the millions. $40k is irrelevant

Think of it as a Claymore with two very fast firing shots, but, say, 60% of the damage. Better against groups of infantry.

In case this is helpful, the spread is shaped like a horizontal 0. So aim accordingly. The Piranha is shaped like an o, and I think the Claymore is shaped like an X. Posted Image

I've  been thinking a lot about the (probable) sequel lately, and I had a thought. If they chose not-destroy as canon, that totally invalidates players choice to have Shepard live through destroy. Likewise, if they choose destroy as canon, then Shepard would live, and it would be very akward indeed to have Shepard as an NPC.

Edit: To give this post some meaning I'd like to address the IT FAQ again. Is Banshee having some kind of documentation regarding the collected evidence? If so, I'd like to take a glimpse onto it.

Not sure if you're here, but if you heard that from MassterBlaster then that's not 100% correct. I don't have a document of evidence as such, simply 26690 words (and counting) of arguments or points I thought were good. That's not counting my Great Wall of Text™. I should repost some of its contents from time to time, now that you mention it.
