Actually. If you think about it - bioware have kinda confirmed IT already. In their pre-release statements! Just imagine that they make these statements AFTER the release of the game in response to the global outcry of "WHY????"

"This is a puzzle, a mystery to solve - and the mystery is how to beat reapers. There won't be a simple solution, no magical switch off button, and this that fisrt seem like won't may turn out to be dead ends. your desicions will matter - they will have major impacton the story, ieven in the final battle alone. The endings will not be just simle A, B or C, type of choice. We love the mass effect universe and we will give it the attention and work it deserves - woudn't have it any other way."

Interesting quote - Demersel, do you have the link to that interview? I'd like to look at it in light of IT.

The theory is that all of mass effect 3 takes place in a hallucination Shepard is suffering on Arrival.

@Demersel
But these statements weren't made after the game came out. They were made before the game came out to attract buyers and encourage pre orders. There has also been no comment on these statements that were made so I'm pretty sure you can rule those out as just lies.

Since we discussed this via PM, I have one thing that kind of supports this claim.
The Alpha Relay in the ending scene (where the explosion has its origin). In IT the common theory is that it is one of Shepard's memories and thus is the origin of the explosion. :blink:
.
.
.
Nah, that still makes no sense, since if Shepard was dreaming in Arrival he already had the dream that the Alpha Relay was  destroyed. Case closed.

BUT I kind of had a new idea how the explosion having its origin at the Alpha Relay can be explained in IT!
It is a common theory that the slow indoctrination process started way earlier than in ME3, the obvious starting point of the process being Arrival.
Thus the indoctrination process had its origin in the system, where the Alpha Relay is located. This system is where the seed of indoctrination was planted into Shepard's mind and started to grow.
The final outcome of the indoctrination attempt is the final choice we make.
So, if we chose Synthesis/Control (=indoctrination), we see how the little seed of indoctrination grows strong and spreads throughout the whole galaxy, representing Shepard's personality/mind as a whole.
Choosing Destroy would mean that we cleanse our personality/mind starting at the roots of indoctrination that is located at the Alpha Relay.

Certainly Shepard makes a weaker choice in Refuse.  So I guess then, she doesn't wake up at all?  Or she wakes up, but lacks the conviction to lead the Alliance to victory?

Do we get a breath scene after refuse? We don't.

Refuse is giving up on what you came there to do - which is destroying the reapers.

In refuse, you'd rather not destroy the Reapers at all, because it would mean you would kill EDI & the Geth.

However, by doing so, you cause the entire galaxy to get reaped.

Not exactly the moral high ground, just complete stupidity. (IMO)

Because bad writing/oversights/deadlines/Walters is the anti-christ obviously.

Nice one!

On the Refuse topic

@DD
I will say it again. Refuse felt better than Destroy at my first playthrough (before I saw what happened). I knew something was off, I knew the kid was aligned to the reapers, I did not want to give into the kid's logic or any of its suggestions and wanted it to shove it - somewhere.
What I got out of refusing was a nice speech.
I was pumped to end the cycle now on my terms. I was expecting to find another way, maybe even involving some boss fight, who knows. At least that's what I expected.
What I really got was Liara's VI and that stargazer scene...:mellow:

Hey, remember the picture which (i believe) gunslinger ruiz once brought up, the one comparing the breath scene environment to the rubble near the beam. There was always a debate going on, whether there is a mako in the breath scene or not. And i think the biggest reason why some people dismissed it, was that rectangular thing in between the mako's wheels...the one noone could identify. Well i found out what it is..or i like to believe so.

Does everyone know what i'm talking about? Because since i'm on my phone, i'd have to find a way to post the picture and i need to know if it's worth the effort.

Hmmm well..i round a rectangular shape in between the wheels of an ingame mako...but it does look different tha this one..so false alarm i guess...i'll try to upload the pic anyway..so you can take a look at it.

To omega screenshot: did anyone notice the cerberus logo on the hologram? Bottom right corner..und the red line. Besides the ship is clearly a drednought imo.

Shepard should have an expression of disbelief and shock on his face. This ship means that he lost 12 squadmates in vain. He died purposelessly too.

EDIT: Good point, Skillz1986. It looks like a dreadnought on closer inspection.

Yeah but I wasn't asking 'is Refuse good?'.  I was just asking how it fitted into IT as a bad ending.  I didn't make my point well enough in this first post.

Doesn't matter anyway as the others answered everything I asked.
