Leviathan says they made an Intelligence, an AI (doesn't need a body...).
They say it created the first Reaper, Harbinger.

1. They never call it the Catalyst in any way.

2. They say its mandate is to protect organics, not 'facilitate a connection between organics and synthetics'

3. An AI is just code. It's not a heck of a stretch, with IT that is, to say that Intelligence created the first Reaper body and PUT ITSELF into it. It then becomes Harbinger, after 'synthesizing' with the Leviathan collective intelligence.


It's not very complicated, but it requires not trusting the Catalyst, which many people seem to have difficulty with pulling off.

I only mean the explanation for refuse via shooting the kid - everything else in that post is just exposition. ))

I wonder if hazards will be like what me and Arian(I think) predicted a while back. Where you are told to get to an objective, then are surprised by some kind of huge enemy. I think I predicted Reaper destroyers and Thresher Maws.

Basically.

Intelligence was more likely close to what the Catalyst presents itself as, but its only a facade.

The tone of the entire ME2+ME3 story keeps saying "HARBINGER IS THE ENEMY", even with Harbinger's limited (physical) presence in ME3 core game.

Which doesn't make a lick of sense, as it wouldn't have allowed hacking of the Keepers and more.

"It's my home" is a lousy excuse. If you're housed in the friggin Citadel, you better have a plan to use the station itself.


Dozens of ways to poke holes in the Catalyst's story, but we seem to be under collective denial about its trustworthyness.

Yes, thank you. That is what i meant - harbinger isn't involved directly - he just knocks shepard out, leaving him vulnerable to take over by already indoctrinated parts of his mind.

i think considering Harbinger's blast is the trigger and his close proximity and having a motive means it's most likely he is involved in the indoctrination

I think he's directly involved, and that he has a super-powered version of the Leviathan enthrallment.

But remember, Shepard could resist to at least some degree, three Leviathans working their enthrallment on him.

He's VERY special.
