Does the number of successful missions during an OP influence what goodies I get in the Commendation and Victory Packs?

No

*sigh* I leave it to BioWare to fix in the next patch. For now I'm a sad panda.

It never has in the past either. Did you assume 1.0.4 changed that?

Wow, what a very un-IT related TOP... Still TOP! *does Evan Almighty dance*

All this speculation about the pixelated Omega piccy...

Anyway, I wanted to start some thoughts going here post-ending:
Yes, I realize we've been told there will be no more post-ending DLC, but I would like common sense to dictate some speculations on the future for Shepard if we were to get some (or for ME3 Part 2 as some have speculated).

Therefore, the preamble:
- IT is presumed canon, at least from the point post-Harbinger's laser shot.
- High EMS Destroy ending is presumed canon.

So, Shepard wakes up, having successfully thrown off Harbinger's indoctrination attempt, but Hammer is mostly wiped out and Sword is not doing too well either. The Crucible is potentially a trap, but the beam to the Citadel is still open. Shepard is in no condition to get to it anyway, having some rebar (if we believe Gamble at the Comic Con panel; personally it looks more like reaper cable to me) sticking out of their leg. Companions are 'safely' on the Normandy, so no help there. Since the EC Destroy ending never happened, at least the fleet and Normandy are still in Sol space, so Shepard can be rescued to fight another day.

To quote some movie: What do you do? What do you do?

Speculations everyone...

I put my thoughts about this somewhere about my thoughts for how ME 3 part 2 would go.  The short version is the game starting right where Shepard breathing and the voices about falling back and Shepard on a stretcher being carried out with a general retreat from Earth again.  I also said something about the real Citadel not being at Earth and them needing to go through the Ilos back door to get on the Cidadel.

I wonder where I posted that?

I just read through some pages on the literalist threaes to see what all the fuss is about. I always read people complaining about the sheer ignorance and stupidity of the literalist community and wanted to check it out for myself.

And let me tell you, i was "schooled" so hard that i left the thread with a ph.d and may forever be known as dr.****** from now on.

Arguments like "but the vi on thessia clearly states you're not indoctrinated", "the catalyst says there'll be peace", finally mad me realize just how blind i was all the time.

Seriously..i can't believe the people in there. Someone comes up with a reasonable argument and all they have for an answer is a mere "meh" because you failed to entertain the single most important person on the internet. Or a triumphant "ha!" at the beginning of their mental diarrhea to show, that you did not manage to convince this brave soldier of the literalist thread..and he is not amused.
Seriously, more a**hole text than a proctology handbook.

Here's my attempt to help them discover what I discovered after watching the Acavyos video and subsequent material afterwards.  It was on a recommendation from something I posted here waaaay back on page 1224.  Plus I seem to be generating some interest in the ending and the possible rethinking of what choice they made after the intial dismissal from some folks:

For those who still have doubts or strong convictions over the ending

I also encouraged people who see that thread to post here instead of there to keep the whole IT thing organized.  So that way the mods won't have to go and say that and completely lock out the thread so comments can still go there about what I posted and more IT stuff can go here.

@cmdr

Yeah i mentioned a few days back that it's always great to have fresh "faces" in here. Always gets speculation going. I like a lot of your thoughts and your enthusiasm. Just a tip frim someone who's been around since the original thread, don't get too engaged in arguments with trolls...over time, it'll kill your goodwill. edit:spelling

No, but for the last 2 OPs I've been doing more successful missions than usually so I thought that it was worth more than what a regular pack contains. Posted Image

I've just finished playing MP with him hosting. Those connection problems are a real mess. We managed to lag our way to Wave 9 and then all of us lost connection. No credits, no XP. Posted Image

It can't be on 10/16/2012. The 30th is my bet, strongly supported by the 9-Week Gap Rule.

Promising future or defending the galaxy from evil bugs? Which one do you think I would pick?!

I know what you mean. I have to prepare a presentation and refine a paper next week and as an addition manage to fix a few instruments that blew up last week.

Because of the 9-Week Gap Rule. Each SP DLC is seperated by a 9-week period.

The EC -> 9 weeks -> Leviathan DLC -> 9 weeks -> Omega DLC -> 9 weeks -> around New Year's Eve -> 9 weeks -> March 5th, 2013 (the last day of a full year since ME3 release)

Borderlands 2 is seriously keeping me from me3 mp and this forum in general. Also I noticed when retaliation was announced that the challenges you get ranks from are VAGUELY similar to getting badass rank in bl2? Which is cool because uh, i can't.. i can't stop doing those..

They did say no Post-End DLC.  Nothing about no sequel.

And lo, lots of rumours about ME4 being in the works...

Exactly why I want some thoughts given to how that could happen in game.

Well, you'd have to think about the beginnings of the other games of the trilogy.
ME 1: You start as lvl 1 N7 soldier with only Jenkins and Kaidan.
ME 2: You start as lvl 1 Shepard with only Jacob (lolz) and Wilson (Jenkins 2.0).
ME 3: You start as lvl XY Shepard, but with no armor and only a pistol with Anderson.
A huge chunk of ME 1 is recruiting your squad and doing the main missions.
ME 2 mainly consists of recruitment and loyalty missions.
ME 3 you collect your squadmates and help old squadmates out, solving different story arcs on the way.

Thus, I'd conclude that you start somewhere on Earth, with some kind of Jenkins 3.0 (maybe Coats for that matter). You would have to somehow cripple the reapers, so that a victory is possible (Crucible destroying their shields as spotless(?) pointed out). That would be the first act and would take place on Earth, while the space battle is going on. After that... I don't know. The war wouldn't have to be over and Earth would be the starting point of a galaxy wide campaign to free system by system, world by world from the reapers. Make sure that your squadmates are not all on the Normandy, but scattered around the galaxy, and you'd have effectively a game.

Shepard: What's the Citadel's pulse regarding the war?

Bailey: I think all the reports are starting to sink in. You can only live in denial so long.

Shepard: You either wake up or die. Either way...

Bailey: Yeah. One good thing about people having their heads up their asses is the quiet. Now there's no more quiet. Everybody's openly suspicious of everybody else, and they're not timid about yelling about it.
_______________________________________________

Shepard: Is the Citadel gearing up for war?

Bailey: There's a false sense of security here. Even people from worlds that have gone down act like they're safe. I guess it's not just human nature. We all lie to ourselves to deal with horror.
_______________________________________________

Bailey: Yeah, I'm just like everyone else, losing myself in things I can control. And at the moment, that means creating the illusion of security here.
_______________________________________________

Bailey: Good work today, Shepard. You did what had to be done. Remember that.
_______________________________________________

Shepard: We both have jobs to do, Bailey. I suggest we do them.

Bailey: Yep. Good talking with you.

Wow, just so much of that stuff in the game, the amount of foreshadowing is incredible.

"You either wake up or die."

WOW  :o
