Anyway, I wanted to start some thoughts going here post-ending:
Yes, I realize we've been told there will be no more post-ending DLC, but I would like common sense to dictate some speculations on the future for Shepard if we were to get some (or for ME3 Part 2 as some have speculated).
They did say no Post-End DLC. Nothing about no sequel.
And lo, lots of rumours about ME4 being in the works...
Exactly why I want some thoughts given to how that could happen in game.
Well, you'd have to think about the beginnings of the other games of the trilogy.
ME 1: You start as lvl 1 N7 soldier with only Jenkins and Kaidan.
ME 2: You start as lvl 1 Shepard with only Jacob (lolz) and Wilson (Jenkins 2.0).
ME 3: You start as lvl XY Shepard, but with no armor and only a pistol with Anderson.
A huge chunk of ME 1 is recruiting your squad and doing the main missions.
ME 2 mainly consists of recruitment and loyalty missions.
ME 3 you collect your squadmates and help old squadmates out, solving different story arcs on the way.
Thus, I'd conclude that you start somewhere on Earth, with some kind of Jenkins 3.0 (maybe Coats for that matter). You would have to somehow cripple the reapers, so that a victory is possible (Crucible destroying their shields as spotless(?) pointed out). That would be the first act and would take place on Earth, while the space battle is going on. After that... I don't know. The war wouldn't have to be over and Earth would be the starting point of a galaxy wide campaign to free system by system, world by world from the reapers. Make sure that your squadmates are not all on the Normandy, but scattered around the galaxy, and you'd have effectively a game.
