hahaha- i love bill's post!
the catalyst's schpiel on synthesis was one of the most shady sells i've ever seen:
starchild: my personal preference, however, is for you to combine/synthesize/merge organic and synthetic life.
shepard: wait, how would that work?
starchild: just put your energy into the crucible.
shepard: what? how do i do that?
starchild: your energy. crucible. put it in there and a new DNA will pop out. it's the final stage of evolution: perfection.
shepard: if it's so good, why haven't you done it before?
starchild: oh don't get me wrong, we've tried. it's failed every time.
shepard: uhh, ok...so if it's failed every time why do you think it's going to work now?
starchild: the other people who tried weren't...ready. but you are totally ready. promise.
shepard: you sure? i don't know...
starchild: why the hesitation? you guys are overreliant on synthetics. can you imagine your life without them?
shepard: and there will be peace?
starchild: oh yeah, definitely. lots of peace.
shepard: wait, how do i know that this will work again?
starchild: dude, i'm done spelling this out for you. you wouldn't understand anyway. make your decision, i got other sh*t to do.

Never mind I found something the Seival created. it's pretty good art work, but i don't know.

Just finished new fan-art, and called it "Controlled Synthesis". Not quite happy with the picture in general (the concept was too complicated for me, I guess), but I hope it's clear that we see Shepard-Catalyst (symbolical image of course), initiating Synthesis.

Since it's both Control and Synthesis related, I think I should post it in both support threads :)

Also I have to say Banshee I love the art work that he did, No joke I do.

I like this one better Posted Image

So, Sevial is constantly trying to get IT moved to the fan-fiction section despite the fact that Bioware says it's not fan-fiction... and he invents a scenario where Control-Shep creates Synthesis Posted Image

Way-way-way-way-wait! Are people seriously acting this way about a decision made in a VIDEO GAME? Really? I mean they actually treated someone like a pariah in an MP game just because he believed in IT!? and all this talk about how "bad" and "immoral" people who picked destroy are, even though in actual reality NOBODY was killed?

...

Do I need to bring out my riddle again?

In a VACUUM.

Where is Shepard? In space.

The amount of foreshadowing in this quote in unbelievable, especially considering who said it...

Oooooooooooh I missed that one.  Usually I notice these things.  I wonder, does this mean EDI supports Refusal?

Not in this case, since the only people involved in that decision are herself, and the geth. Both of whom already stated they would prefer to be nonfunctional than compromise with the reapers. So in this case, no context is missed. Posted Image

It's the larger principle that matters. Being a video game is irrelevant. It's unnerving that these people would pick these decisions in real life. I don't want to be "Synthesized".

speaking of my riddle, that reminds me of the Leviathans and their notion that they are an "apex" species. If they are so superior, then why to they need to mind control other species to "tend to their needs?" If they need organics to survive, then clearly they aren't a superior lifeform.

Point made.  I still want a Renegade Interrupt during the sequence with the Star Child where you abruptly walk away from him the very moment you find out how to choose Destroy and ignore everything else he has to say.

Might have to go that route.  I never developed an intuitive grasp of multivariate integral calculus.  For the same reason, I'd make a good diplomat: I'm awfully discrete.

Well, saying that IT "isn't real because it's a dream" is like saying that "video games aren't real because..." It's all real, happening in the real world right now. Just because something's fictional doesn't mean it's less real, if that makes sense.

If video games aren't real, then neither are games like Chess, Risk, and Monopoly.

They are organics, too. I see your point though. The relationship is symbiotic.

Right, which puts them on a level playing field with the species they use.  They cannot be "superior" if they are reliant on their "inferiors" to help them survive.  In the larger scheme of things they are equal.Posted Image

Question for you knowledgeable IT guys, I watched all the IT videos and at one point where Anderson states that he was ahead of Shepard and that the walls were moving, I believe Julian (thinks that's his name) states that the walls aren't moving. As you near the final room where TIM and Anderson are w/ the control panel, the walls move in as soon as you reach the entry way. Did he ever make note of that?

Still makes no sense how Anderson got ahead of him, after he states I FOLLOWED you up meaning behind him, but IF there were another drop out point after being warped up, the walls shifting could have placed him ahead of Shepard (I guess)

I was thinking along these lines when I first talked to Leviathan. After dealing with Reapers' attitudes for so long, it was clear he was pretty much the same, believing himself to be better than all others. That's also the reason for their downfall, they considered themselves apart from the universe, like gods. The idea that anything in the universe could affect them was beyond their comprehention.

The AI, however, saw them for what they were, just like everything else. That's why Leviathan says the AI did in fact do what it was made to do, they just never thought it could happen to them.

That would be awesome. Or trolling him by walking up the middle, then abruptly turning right.

But you reminded me of something: You said "the very moment you find out how to choose Destroy".

Think about it. We don't ever learn how to do that! We just see a vision! It only makes sense in a dream. Unless the kid is totally playing with your mind, or both. Another thing: I have absolutely no idea how Shepard figures out how to do synthesis. There isn't even a vision!

Shepard: [Runs at beam]
Kid: Shepard, wait! That's not actually how to do it!
Shepard: [Jumps off edge] Oh, crap!

I see what you mean, but I think the fact that it is a video game is at least partially relevant.  The decisions we make in video games are not necessarily the decisions we make in real life.  It is like that whole Jack Thompson argument that violent video games make people violent.  yet one third of the US population isn't shooting up malls or ramming people on sidewalks with their cars. (I use the US as an example since I can only speak for my country of origin.)

It is easier to make decisions like the ones made in ME3 because there are no actual real-world consequences.  They can justify it all they want with whatever logic and philosophy they choose to utilize.  but I bet if the people who played the game had to somehow make a similar choice in real life, I bet a significantly lower amount of people would make the same choice, or at the very least it would be 100 times harder to make such a decision.

That's my thought on it at any rate.

No there is only one way to get to the Control panel, and that's where Shepard is at. Also the walls aren't changing as Anderson said, Those are like the enggeins from the Shadow brokers ship.

Downfall through arrogance is a very common theme. One the reapers are very much suited to, and anyone who likes control, for that matter. Possibly even synthesis, because you think you should be able to make decisions on behalf of everyone.
