I guess it's a good thing I've already got one of those.

Thats awesome; it's good to see people find happiness! :)

I fear I spend too much time hoping rather than just living. Kinda bad I fear.

Thanks. I met her 2 years ago at gamescom. Needless to say, she's a gamer like me.

I'll never forget when I first saw her in that Revan costume...

I want to quote (with translation) a comment on the Leviathan news, posted by a user (RedRanger) on the website of a german gaming magazine GameStar:

You defeat the Reapers, the galaxy is heavily crippled but free. Shep's dead or maybe not, then you're suddenly standing on the Normandy again and can do an extra mission to find out more about how to defeat the Reapers..."

That's what you'd call circular gameplay.

Also,
I've decided to download Katawa Shouju. Do you have any advice on which
of the character arcs I should pursue? Hanako looks pretty
interesting...

I don't mind a DLC that reveals more things pre-ending. Especially when it's adding a new "rift".

I think what BioWare meant was that the tone of the Catalyst's voice was comprised partially of Shepard's memories, not his words. By the way, why does he enter Shepard's mind at all? Fishy.

Even admitting that the voice was constructed from Shepard's memory of the boy (and heck, the Starchild itself) says a lot.  It means the Reapers (or the Reaper's controller, whatever) is able to read Shepard's mind.

And thus everything that scene has to offer is highly suspect.  No other details required - if Starchild looks and sounds like the boy Shepard met, the Reapers either:

1/ Are reading Shepard's memories and constructing the image.  Either to manipulate or comfort.

2/ Saw Shepard and the boy interacting at some point and knew that Shepard would be effected by him deeply, and also that Shepard would come face to face with them later on.

3/ Was in control of the boy via indoctrination, and kept putting him in Shepard's path to try and get under his skin.  And then hope Shepard would come face to face with them later, and was suitably effected by it.

4/ Has been in Shepard's head for the entire game, and the boy is an illusion from the start.

I can't think of a single other excuse.  And only 1 and 4 make any sense, and neither strike me as being even slightly trustworthy or benign.

I'd say really anyone but Shizune. Most people dont enjoy her route as much as the other ones, so its best to do hers somewhere in the middle, not first or last.

I'd recommend Emi, but I'm biased since she's my favorite.

Ayup.

I'd say I got pretty lucky with Emi

She's exactly the sort of girl I'd chase.

All of these options have a single thing in common: The Reapers are cunning. They anticipate and plan, prepare traps in advance hoping for their enemies (Shepard being the worst one) to fall into them.

A fifth option:
The Reapers recognize that Shepard is equal to them, genuinely have second-thoughts and decide to willingfully back off if Shepard wishes them to. All of that despite treating everyone in the last 3 games as little bugs destined to be crushed.

I'm going to throw this in, simply because it's the first thought that crossed my mind.

Leviathan allows us to visit 'new areas on the Citadel'.

First association? "This doesn't look like any part of the Citadel I've ever seen", courtesy of Admiral Anderson.

Perhaps 'going too far' references getting to places in the Citadel that you shouldn't be able to reach normally? Likely totally off the mark, but a fun thought :).

Firstly, how in the world could so many advanced civilizations inhabit a space station of an unknown origin and don't feel the need to explore all the corners so that they know where they live. An enormous oversight makes that Anderson's quote even more suspicious. And don't give me reasons like "because the Citadel is so big" cause those civilizations aren't cavemen. They travel throughout the Galaxy but can't just take a walk to the basement of their own home?

Honestly, taking ME3 at face value, Reapers think they are smarter then they are.  Their battle tactics are...  Dreadful!

But I digress.

That 'fifth option' doesn't explain why Starbinger looks and sounds like the boy Shepard met.

Guys, does anyone have the link for me of Jessica Merizan saying that the EC does not confirm or deny IT?

I forgot to add "//sarcasm" after the fifth option. Though it could be the case it's probability is below the sea level given the lore.

As for the Reapers' tactics. If IT is true you agree that the Reapers' methods of waging war are ingenious. They use both brute force and subtle prodding.

It has worked for the countless times in the past. And It does seem that they are winning the war against everyone else. Hell even Palavan with the turians massive fleets and even the Krogan soldiers combined couldnt save the planet. I suppose the reapers arnt messing with a tactic that has worked so well before.

Anyway, you have to remember that the Reapers are basically machines. They think like machines and don't resent sudden decision changes. For them what happens after Shepard makes the choice is as correct as what came before. I mean that'd be the case if ultimate realism was part of Mass Effect. But since it's still a work of fiction the Reapers shouldn't be willing to give up their harvesting so easily.

Huh, interesting. Shepard's going to spend part of Leviathan alone. Completely separated from his squad. With no one to snap him back to reality if something goes wrong. Now doesn't this sound familiar, hum?

I'm here to bust a myth quickly.
In any good, normal, human relationship there will be occasions when the two of you just don't get on.

However, if you can manage to make each other deleriously happy 90+% of the time you're on to a winner, that's certainly the way I look at it with my girlfriend.
Awesome rack too
Just saying.

The most interesting question is really whether its going to line up with Glowboy's explanation or not. Could be major for IT if they don't.

I thought it was already pretty clear from the starbinger conversation that it at some point in the past turned on its creators (it certainly hints as such even if you don't know about leviathan) and turned them into a reaper monstrosity as a "solution" to some long-forgotten conflict...

Are there any missions Shepard does alone that don't involve some kind of manipulated-reality element?

I bet Conrad Verner gets to snap him out of it in one, that would be awesome

Hey, anyone watch the footage of the Leviathan demo from the EA Summer Showcase? If any of you missed it, I'll post a link to the footage. Also, Gamble has confirmed that there are going to be changes to the dialogue with the Catalyst. That should be interesting.

Uh, well, there was Arrival, but that has Object Rho.  Oh, and there was the ending!  Wait, no, that was all an indoctrination hallucination.  And... uh, that's about it.

Also, if Conrad has to be the one to snap him out of it, I think I'd laugh my head off.  Certainly gives you a reason to keep him alive through all three games.Posted Image

To be honest, I probably have more realistic expectations than CoolioThane, I fully expect there to be arguments, but not too many, debates, but never too heated, hurt feelings, but never too long unmended, uncomfortable moments, but never too difficult to dispel, occasions where sex and experimentation both do not meet an ideal, and times that we shall simply need away from one another, though hopefully never too long.

As far as I am concerned, someone I can care about, but still argue with is my ideal.

Sounds like a plan.  If you got along with your girlfriend/spouse ALL the time, you'd know something was wrong.  Everybody needs sombody who will call them on their bad decisions.  You know, someone to say, What The H***, Hero? when you make a bad move.  Everybody needs someone like that.
