These are all the unique versions of the Earth Embassy logo I could find. I don't see no beam of light though...

This is the only C-Sec logo I could find on the whole Citadel hub (until I've had a chance to replay Priority: Citadel II again where I know there muct be more). My own interpretations on the right, so don't mind them if you don't agree...

He was talking about

but it's bs as you can see it's the standard C-SEC banner combined with the standard ad overlay. It exists since ME1 and I would call bs on this one.

So, did anyone notice on the XBL description of the Retaliation DLC pack it says "The Black Arks have arrived!"? And didn't someone here mention that the Omega DLC would have something to do with these "Black Arks?" So if that turns out to be true then does that confirm that the Collectors will in fact be in the Omega DLC?

You may be referring to the reddit post made 27 days ago that said:

"The Black Arks have arrived! In Mass Effect 3: Retaliation, Harbinger unleashes a new wave of terror on the galaxy: the Collector legions! Battle this all-new fourth enemy faction as well as reinforcements to existing factions like the Cerberus Dragoon and Geth Bomber. Face environmental hazards on the original six game maps, and achieve victory with new ammo powers, gear pieces, kits for the turians and volus, and Collector weapons!"

What does the XBL description say?

I think it says the exact same thing.  though admittedly I didn't see the whole thing.

Well then I think it confirms that someone had a source 27 days out and got the description right for Retaliation.

I couldn't find where any Omega rumors involved "Black Arks" though.

I think it gives more credit to literalist's "BW is on LSD" theory.

Meh, LSD isn't strong enough for that

Damn it Bioware. Volus? That's something that should only be put in when everything is all said and done, like as a final joke.

To be fair their reasoning for putting the Volus in is actually pretty good.

:wizard:

EDIT: Hey I made it to the top!

No, it's ****.  The MP team should have to let the SP team okay their work before they put it in.

And the Volus has low Health, primarily support abilities and no melee attack. Instead they stealth shortly on a standard melee and shield themselves on a heavy.

Still though:

We all know MP=/=lore it is just there to be there.

Though I do love the Volus death animation - if they are on an incline they literally will roll down!!

I wan't them to implement a Volus Vanguard! Just the thought of seeing a flying deathball zing across the field at enemies would be the ultimate badassness!

You can even imagine hearing the sound of a Volus breath when chargine.

At least they're UR. Spent about 2M credits and I've gotten one adept. So hopefully they'll be rare enough to not need to keep leaving lobbies to avoid them.

Also Elcor are going to be next for MP. I can feel it. Also um has anyone gone through the Retaliation files yet?

I can see it now...every lobby filled with Volus

Every MP game has nothing but Volus in it.

Volus...Volus everywhere

The bulbus horde grows...

Badger I got Destroyer, fury, the prothean partical, and a few other characters. Trust me it's not going to be rare. I never thought I would get the prothean rifle, but I did. And when I get home I will use it against the Collectors on gold, and platinum.

The worst part is that there IS a volus vanguard in this DLC.

The volus can fight husk, but that's it. I mean everything after that, and they are dead. Plus they are going to die on platinum, and gold on the first wave.

So, I kind of hate the volus.

QFT.  I honestly lost a lot of hope for IT when they did this.  It clearly shows BW has stopped giving half a **** about their own lore.  If they're pissing all over lore in MP, why not SP too?

No offense, but just because the species is not adept at combat dosent mean there could not be individuals among them capable of combat, possibly even excelling at it, especially if that Combat is focused around powers and not the gun they are carrying. There is no logical reason a Volus could not be as adept at Biotics as a Asari Commando or as skilled with tech as a Quarian Engineer, it is all a matter of training.

Encapsulate a Volus in the latest of Armor and Shields, train him to use a Gun and Tech and he can and will be an asset on the battlefield.

I know people bring up the problem with suit rupture alot, but Quarians face a similar problem where a suit rupture could give them a deadly infection and put them out of combat. Sure not as fast or lethal as with a Volus, but the Quarians have no problem leaping into the fray despite this problem.

Is there a certain amount of stupidity to be found in this, yes, but in a war such as this one you have to take what is handed to you and if a Volus has the training necesary and the skill he is still better suited on the frontline than twidling his thumbs.

There may not be a lot of Volus like that, but we arent exactly playing standard soldiers either.

Sorry, but just tired of people complaining on Volus. Is it stupid? On a certain level yes. Do Volus usualy dont do this? Yes. But that dosent mean every single one of them is a complete pansy in a firefight.

Agreed. Volus in MP in no way says "The volus as a race are fighting Reapers everywhere". No. Most of them are cowering and hoping the Turians will protect them.

I'm actually impressed by their abilities, as they seem to fit the volus quite well. For adepts, a super-cloak to slip away from fights (coward!), biotic orbs, always in 'cover' but blocked by other players because you're so short haha, and stasis,

And just because the Biotic God was weak in biotics, doesn't mean other volus are NOT. In fact, he may have very well been a biotic god, but he was drunk on drugs and red sand also made his biotics far too unstable B)

So basically Volus are not the 'charge in' type like Soldiers and Vanguard and such, but their classes make sense.

And honestly, elcor and hanar also make sense.
Make Elcor soldiers, our equivalent of Atlas/Geth Prime/Banshee etc, in that it is more of a walking tank but loses most mobility, and have his special 'melee' be a cannon mounted on his back.
Make Hanar soldiers and adepts that move even faster than drell, and can choke the enemy (hey, they can choke Zaeed after all!), but also can't take cover and dodge.

Do you guys think we might see or hear anything from Casey or Mac on N7 day? I wonder if they'll reveal how many chose which RGB option on their first play through?

I don't get it - its not like volus CAN'T fight.

It's more that most of them innately suck at it - both biologically (hello exploding waddling ball) and mentally (tendency to cower).

A handful (lore-wise?) of them being good enough to train (if this is a VR simulator) because things are so desperate in the galaxy against the Reapers, does make sense to me. They're a minority within a minority, but an oh so hilarious one... I mean ... effective one.

I mean:
-Vorcha are freakin disposable tools to other organics, but a FEW *STANDOUT* ones, are the ones you play, basically
-Quarians get torn apart before your eyes, so easily, except for Tali and kinda Kal'Reegar, and in-lore a tear through their suit (hello Atlas rockets? flamethrowers?) should expose them enough that they're lucky to even survive at all

We're playing the best of the best. Turns out a small handful of volus, in a galaxy of many billions, are some of the best. Obviously, they're nowhere near the numbers that exist of Turians, Asari, Humans, Salarians, and so on, but those races are being decimated before our eyes (well not Salarians yet but... that's another subject), and I'm sure recruitment is open for ANYONE who can prove themselves in this 'VR Sim'.

I agree with byne, and Volus are good bank accounts people, not soldiers I get it it's cool, but the Turians and Krogan had to go help them out, while the Elcor fight by themselfs. I mean the Elcor are putting up a fight, but the volus well... They have ships, but they are not ground soldiers.

Yeah, I was wrong.

But its still so hilarious.

If there was a status way above Ultra Rare, I'm sure they'd be there, but this is just MP, so...

No, I mean volus are an ultra rare.  Literally.  It's a black N7 card.  So hopefully they won't be as widespread as I feared.  Because honestly, I simply can't play with them.  If there's a volus on the team, I'm finding a new team.  They DESTROY immersion for me.

The thing is, I doubt even the best of the best of the volus could fight anywhere on the same level as even the most average of humans. Yet there they are in MP doing it. Not only that, but they can run, which due to the bulk of their suits and the atmospheres of pressure inside, shouldnt really be possible.
