" Er, no it's not. Organics are still organic, they can just better integrate with technology now.l

Lol no no no.

They are one big hive mind all interconnected with...The Reapers. Or whatever. It's intentionally presented in a way that doesn't make sense.

No hive mind was ever mentioned anywhere. Everyone still has individual and species identities, and suchlike.

My take on the debate about IT and all endings:
My personal take of the endings (now knowing what they are) is this:

Destroy > Refuse > Control > Synthesis

I will again add that Refuse at the beginning felt even better than Destroy, because I did not have to give into Starbingers logic! After seeing what happened I reloaded...
I am going to ignore EMS, but that may effect the outcome of the indoctrination attempt aswell:

Destroy (with breath scene to keep it simple):
You wake up, physically a bit shaky due to the blast, but your mind is your own and you are focused more then ever. Commence the fight in post-end DLC or ME4.

Refuse (with high enough EMS I would suppose):
LI/Squadmates/Coats/Anderson rescue you. You are also physically shaken and your mind is affected aswell. This results in punishment of some kind. Some side character (Coats?) dies or you have an EMS penalty.

Control:
LI/Squadmates/Coats/Anderson rescue you. You are injured and not yourself. If you melden with Liara and/or rescued the Rachni Queen in ME1 and 3 and/or left Shiala alive and/or have Eve's crystal and/or have the Consorts trinket you can be brought back to you senses. In an ideal situation, you'd also face the same penalties as in Refuse. As I just made up, there are several choices throughout the trilogy that may benefit your mental recucitation. You'd have some kind of count that decides whether you face the same penalty as Refuse, whether you lose a squadmate throught the game or whether you pull a Saren/TIM shooting yourself or whether you make a massacre among your friends/LI/squadmates/crewmembers.

Synthesis:
The same count system is applied as in Control, but now it is even harder to get an "ideal" rescue that may still include the death of a squadmate.

I support this. That way control and synthesis players will know they were tricked but won't be completely alienated.

Shepard was still organic. The AI even states he is the first organic to make it there so by your logic that must be true because starchild never ever ever lies

Of course Shepard was still organic. The organics in Synthesis are still organic, just integrated with technology, as Shepard was.

No synthesis is based on completley altering your genetic DNA; which in turn makes you synthetic and all is unicorns and care bears thoughout the galaxy. Posted Image

Er, no it's not. Organics are still organic, they can just better integrate with technology now.

If you want to be techincal you really aren't synthetic or organic you become something else....according to the starchild. Reapers aren't even fully synthetic themsleves they are part organic. Main point (altering DNA) explain how that leaves you organic if your able to just process information like synthetics and easily integrate with machines? (Katsumi producing a hologram of Keji?)

Look, Synthesis is bad because it makes you 'transcend mortality'.

If everyone in the galaxy is immortal, then all resources are gone within 3 generations.

So every single person in the galaxy dies.

Is that what you want?

Ignored, so reposting

Do synthesis people even eat? Probably they.munch on the candy in the back of their vans

Reposting again because people need to see this:

I found something very IT related in the new unlockable banners! The one that you get for killing lots of Reapers, called "Death Guard", has a picture of Harbinger's Arrival hologram, though oddly recoloured in red. That's not the best part though, the background of the picture is the hallway of bodies at the beginning of the dream Citadel! Posted Image

EDIT: It's also the one selected in this blog post about N7HQ. There's also the "Lone Wolf" one, of Shepard at the beam run.

No, it's still terrible. Arbitrary penalties will never work well.

It's the inevitable penalty for not paying attention to the lore and being tricked.

It's the inevitable penalty for not paying attention to the lore and being tricked.

If the lore is so impossibly restrictive inevitably, then fine. But you possess a surprising lack of faith in the narrative if this is case.

It's the inevitable penalty for not paying attention to the lore and being tricked. It logically fits with the story and mirrors what has happened to other indoctrinated people.

Actually, in contrast, I show a remarkable faith in the narrative. I see the Reapers for deceitful beings. They need us for food and procreation. Why would they want to end the food and orgy party? The lore is impossibly restrictive already. Reapers are evil, they always have been evil, whether they're useful idiots or not. They use sinister methods to change people, effectively killing who they were. Again, they are the walking graveyards of trillions of sentient beings who most assuredly would have wanted to keep their forms and not die in a cruel and horrific way. The lore is already restrictive. This is how it has always been.
