The whole thing is rather interesting for me, but the most interesting part for me is
"Endings - how do they feel?"
"brave new world + end of the first matrix".

There's a common theme here.
The first matrix (as in, the 1st matrix to exist in the story, rather than the first movie) was an idyllic, perfect world. It failed because the people rebelled against the illusion (as it lacked pain and the chaos of human emotions) and the harvest was spoiled.

In Brave New World, there is an idyllic society in which everyone is conditioned to believe they are happy, and to live productive lives not really realising that they're serving the ends of their masters. The main character rebels against this superficially "perfect" world, as it lacks pain and the chaos of human emotions.

Do you see where I'm going with this?
The endings are supposed to feel suspiciously, superficially perfect, they're supposed to feel like an illusion, and they're supposed to inspire speculation as a result.
This was always planned, right back from 2010 when that early plan was drawn up.
Tah ****ing Dah.

I know. It's goddamn amazing is what it is.

All endings can lead to victory under the idea I presented regarding the Rachni and other events in the past.

Quick sum up certain choices made throughout the series might allow Shepard a second wind in regards to Indoctrination. This second wind could be anything from breaking free long enough to finish the fight to just Shepard commiting suicide Saren style allowing for others to finish it (requirring high to extreme EMS to pull off).

An example is as mentioned the Rachni Queen who is Indoctrination resistant and can interact with the minds of other beeings. If succumbing the Rahcni Queen if alive could interact with Shepards mind and become a saving grace. Other such events and choices might also exist and clould potentially allow Synthesis/Control choosers a happy ending.

It is just an idea.

I will agree (despite how satisfying it would be) that Bioware wont just show those who picked Control/Synthesis a game over screen. Under this idea the choice is a step in the direction and if you did not prepare in the past it will lead to a loss, but with the right assets it can still be turned around. hould obviusly lead to higher casulaties as you did not pull it off flawlessly (the Rachni Queen dying to save you would be a nice `Ommph´ if you ask me).

Still though the mere idea that Bioware would not place a outright wrong choice in the game is flawed. They had no problem adding several in the suicide mission of ME2 where a wrong choice would send a squadmate to his or her unavoidable death and if you ****ed up enough Shepard did not make it out.

One would think they would try to pull of something similar but with way higher stakes in ME3.

Synthesis isn't a game over.

It's just a more 'compelling' story. :innocent:

Second, any updates from NYCC? Is there a Mass Effect presentation there or some such thing?

Reposting again because people need to see this: Posted Image

I found something very IT related in the new unlockable banners! The one that you get for killing lots of Reapers, called "Death Guard", has a picture of Harbinger's Arrival hologram, though oddly recoloured in red. That's not the best part though, the background of the picture is the hallway of bodies at the beginning of the dream Citadel! Posted Image

EDIT: It's also the one selected in this blog post about N7HQ. There's also the "Lone Wolf" one, of Shepard at the beam run.

Yes, BlUr, we heard you. I'm gonna go with a firm "Does it prove IT?" meme though. <_<

But no, it is unimaginative and they're decieving the audience.

ART IS THE LIE THAT TELLS THE TRUTH.

No friggin wonder they used the term artistic integrity now. Took me several months to understand though.

There is and there's a photo of the booth floating around with a pissed Aria T'Loak in the background.

I'm pretty sure they'll come back and do multiple rotations, or (I hope) after all have been revealed through rotation, they could make all of them permanent (though I doubt that). You get extra experience for the hazard levels, so I think that's why they're not doing them all at once.

Do you even pay attention to the game?

Child: "Organics seek perfection through technology. Synthetics seek perfection through understanding. Organics will be perfected fully by integrating fully with Synthetic technology. "

"EMBRACE PERFECTION"

Different sense. Harbinger is referring to the Reaper form, the Catalyst speaks of something quite different.

The Catalyst speaks of exactly the same thing, because he IS Harbinger. Inside your head.

See, the Leviathans created an AI. That AI betrayed them, harvested them, and turned the harvested Leviathans into the first Reaper; Harbinger.

The AI isn't sitting on the citadel for aeons, waiting for some organic to 'change the variables'. He installed himself into the first Reaper.

Why you would trust the AI that tricked the Leviathans into being harvested is beyond me.

*highfive*

Harbinger is still the big bad. The biggest big bad of the series. He IS arrogant. He IS massively genocidal. And he WAS a more ambivalant AI created by the Leviathans, but once he 'synthesized' with them, we have this monumental JERK that considers the galaxy his petri dish.

They aren't rotating maps or characters, they are adding two new ones each week. But they keep the ones they've already added. Nothing is being taken away, just slowly added.

TSA, they posted a pic of their NYCC booth with a pic of Aria taken from the comic series, so nothing really there. Also, the BW booth is literally one table, a TV and a chair. Thought it'd be bigger than that. Nothing going on until tomorrow though.
