Hello ITers, i´m new to this forum but i´ve been keeping keeping track with IT(well most of it, i think).
And something i have had in my mind for a while is:
When they release the IT dlc, How do you think bioware will explain the fact that it took them a year or more to release the real ending?

I'm still thinking it'll be Mass Effect 3.5/IT reveal.
Also, since you guys were talking about replicas and statues, does anyone else want this?

Oh, I think that some people will be mad. Bioware messed up with the original endings, and the EC was to stop the backlash. They're original plan may be different than the plan that they have now. I am unsure on how they could release a DLC specifically for IT. There are different theories on this. One is that all the DLC's together will help Shepard wake up from the Hallucination and keep up the fight. Another is that the DLC's would eventually have Shepard achieve victory through refuse. There could even be a post-ending DLC ment f if you pick destroy. Sadly, they are a company, and charging for it is not out of the question.Fur28 wrote...

Hello! I don't know why they would have done that, but in my opinion, Bioware may have tried this to "pioneer" a new type of game. They want "Speculation for Everyone". They did want players to hold on to their copies of the game forever.Fur28 wrote...

so you think the new type of gaming they were trying to "piooner" was release imcomplete game>let the speculation flow>release IT>people will love them again and forgive the first ending
and if that is the case do you think IT will be free or they will charge us $10
whathever the plan they have now, i still think it would be It or puzzle theory, because i´m sure EA will want them to keep using the reapers an shepard in future games

The biggest thing that's so special about Mass Effect is the immersion and the feeling like you are shaping that universe. In a prequel, whatever you do, the outcome is inevitable and nihilistic if it's a previous cycle. Earlier in this cycle and the outcome is inevitable and the weapons and powers are way less advanced. In this cycle during Reaper wars it would be like "Help in 5% of the Reaper War, then watch Shepard handle the other 95%"

and the good thing about using the leviathas is that bioware can´t up the scale any more than the reapers, and start another galatic war

Well, an ME4 'continuation' would make sense with 'no new, changed, adding/subtracting endings'. One more story makes sense, too. I don't know how it jives with 'end of Shepard's story' however.
If it was a part 2, it would still technically be ME3, and thus it's not a continuation.

I guess the message to the devs then, is: GET ON WITH IT

But imo, what they can do if make a story not about big decision that decide the fate of the universe, but a story about your main character and his squad, wich will be some sort of special ops, and during the game you´ll make decisions wich will either save or kill members of your squad; and also throught the game you can witness some of the key moments in watherver war you´re in.
tldr;
they should make the prequel more about characters you want to keep alive than epic scale story

So long as they take their time with it and its more then just 'IT explained' as a plot, and has co-op campaign and a properly designed journal...
I'll be happy with ME4.

i see your point, but if they make a prequel and i had to choose between small story about characters, or epic scale story in wich your choices wont matter. or create an alternare reality(sort of a spinoff, or i just dont know how to explain it)
i would choose the first, mostly because the characters were my favorite part about mass effect

@spotless I agree prequels make sense for some games like MGS but not ME it just wouldn't make sense to me.
yeah, i dont want a prequel either, but remember that gaming is an industry and it isn´t always about making a good story tha fits the franchise, sometimes it´s just about making money:devil:

It's like Reach, when we learn over time in Halo 1-3 that only one sparten lived, and that Reach was the last colony to fall. So making a story about the Reapers, or the first contact war is just wrong.
I would like to play them, but there is no point other than to play events that have passed.
