- Collectors are hard. Possessed Scions are particularly nasty.
- I actually like what they've done with the volus now I've seen them in action. Having a support character/debuffer that is frail changes the dynamic and adds something to the game. I tend to think they're stretching, rather than breaking the lore. Also there have always been a lot of tongue-in-cheek moments in ME and I think it's in that spirit.
- I'd really like to try one. I've done my time in MMOs as a squishy healer so I think I could pull it off.
- For some reason I am a terrible infiltrator. My FQI now insists she is "washing her hair" if I try to select her.

Of course. I was the whole time refferring to the conclusion of the reaper war. Before that, there's really no time for any for of promotion, nor any reason for it.spotlessvoid wrote...

Yup. Shepard is still the most qualified to finish this war
However, my opinion still is that after the reapers are finished, so is Shepard's story.

Hello ITers, i´m new to this forum but i´ve been keeping keeping track with IT(well most of it, i think).
And something i have had in my mind for a while is:
When they release the IT dlc, How do you think bioware will explain the fact that it took them a year or more to release the real ending?
I'm still thinking it'll be Mass Effect 3.5/IT reveal.
Also, since you guys were talking about replicas and statues, does anyone else want this?
DO WANT

We should have been promoted when we saved the galaxy in ME1.
We should have been promoted when we sent the Collectors to hell in ME2.
Did we no. Hell in ME3 they could have promoted Shepard to General, or Admiral that would have put moral up very high because you can get more colonist that are humans to follow an Admiral, than a Commander. Either way I don't care. I would like to end it with Shepard, but I wouldn't mind playing as the child of Shepard.
Shepard did get promoted. Shepard became a Spectre, which is above and beyond the Alliance, the Elite of the Elite.
Promoting Shepard to Admiral would just be recognizing distinguished service in the Alliance.

Although, becoming a spectre does put you out of alliance jurisdiction. You take direct orders from the council, and no one else.BatmanTurian wrote...

You ccan probably still be a spectre after receiving your rank of admiral, though.

If anything, Shepard's rank means little anymore. Its more a popular hero's title. Commander Shepard has a ring to it, of a front-line hero and not a general leading from afar. Not to mention it has the word 'command' in it, instantly demanding attention from anyone who hears it.
I'd even consider Shepard's rank to be essentially defunct considering his/her Spectre status. Much like how James Bond is a Commander in the Royal Navy - its little more then a formal title at this stage.

Then, Shepard would not appear as the main protagonist in any other Mass Effect game.

Also I am watching not the big bang theory yet because it's hasn't started yet. So I am watching Harry Potter and the DH part 2, and I was watching the scene when Harry gives up is life, and wakes up in a dream/ train sattion and talks to the old princible of Hagworths.
And the funny part was.
" Sir am I'm dreaming."
" Well of cource your dreaming."
Then Harry wakes up.
Thus brings me to the breath scene.

Yeah, titles mean little when you're a spectre. Since you're no longer under alliance command, you also can't be promoted by them, I guess.Andromidius wrote...
Shepard is actually a Lieutenant Commander. A very low rank considering he/she is commander of the most advanced ship in the Alliance Fleet, is essentially an ambassador to every race in the Galaxy and is considered the leader of the fight against the Reapers by many people (even if this isn't technically true). He/she is considered an equal (in respect/prowess, at least) to the leaders of many other species - Urdnot Wrex, Primarch Victus to name a few. He/she even gives direct orders to people who technically have a higher rank as well (Major Alenko)!
If anything, Shepard's rank means little anymore. Its more a popular hero's title. Commander Shepard has a ring to it, of a front-line hero and not a general leading from afar. Not to mention it has the word 'command' in it, instantly demanding attention from anyone who hears it.

Agreed. It would over-extend the character arc otherwise. That's not to say that Shepard couldn't remain part of the universe, and your ME1-3 choices could be imported to shape some of the background details and give flavour. But a new hero is needed for a new story arc to keep things fresh.
I guess the difficulty with that is creating, and finding the actors to give voice to, a new character and avoiding them falling flat because they can't live up to what Bioware created in Shepard. Shep is a masterclass in creating a character with some distinctive features that give everyone common ground to talk about their experience of the game, yet on whom the player can project themselves. Meer and Hale both turned in largely excellent performances (for the record I like both - not sure I could choose if I had to).

I play primarily a Female Quarian Infiltrator with an N7 Valiant and an N7 Hurricane. Eat face and end up 2nd if not 1st. The trick is quickscoping, predicting the movement of the target, and firing from cover. If things get too hot, go invisible and find a new spot.

[/quote]Oh, I thought you ment after ME3 but in a time during the Reaper war. Thank you for clearing this up. That very well could happen assuming there is a ME game with Shepard but after the Reapers. Then again, if it is a threat bigger than the Reapers, they may call upon Shepard to "clean up the mess". Since they don't know anybody more qualified.

Thanks for the tips - it's my first serious attempt at a long-range character. I've mainly played turian sentinel, batarian soldier, various adepts and drellguard up to now so I'm more used to being in the enemy's face than lurking at a distance. Still, practice makes perfect
