Ah yeah, fear! Very nice. (This is not sarcasm btw. Nor is this bit in parentheses).SwobyJ wrote...
Letting it play out would mean letting organics + synthetics to both roflstomp the Reapers, imo.

What if he tells you (he does most of the time) that the device appears largely intact? Also, if I were Starkid, IT or not I would probably tell Shepard that the device may fail soon so get on with it. My interpretation of the time limit has always been related to stress being induced on Shepard through indoctrination. Remember when Shepard was being enthralled by Leviathan? Sort of like that. There is no reason for Starkid to blow up the crucible.Restrider wrote...
As I said, in literal POV it would make sense, if the Crucible was already damaged before docking to the Citadel and showing the Catalyst the new possibilities. If you need too lonk, the Crucible would blow up, because the damage dealt before resulted in a chain reaction and booom.
Anything else would not really make any sense in a literal POV.
And again, in an indoctrination POV the stress resulting from the time constrains would actually benefit the Reapers, since people tend to make wrong choices, if under pressure.
@Dwailing
This is an interesting point. What would you do, when IT comes true?
I think I would look forward to a possible ME4 and open a fresh, cold bottle of beer to celebrate the day.
If IT is revealed, I would definitely play another trilogy run, and probably stop for a while. No more speculating for me

Again, this makes no sense. He brought Shepard up there, why destroy the crucible? It works in other ways too. By giving you 3 "solutions" (Only 1 is an actual solution to him, synthesis) he is saying that those 3 choices are better than what the reapers are doing now.munnellyladt wrote...
just thought of something about the ending choices.
If you go to one then walk back it's says "the crucible has been destroyed"which most of you already know.
But why does this happen?
Since he controls the reapers,he could order them to stay away from the crucible since his solution "won't work anymore"but instead he never tells them t stay away.
It's almost like he's forcing shep to pick a choice betwwen the three.
So, destroying the repears in better than the cycle. But, if Shepard refuses to make a choice, he just keeps reaping? Makes no sense.
By letting Shepard control the reapers, he is saying pretty much the same thing. He even says he would not like it, but gets pissed when Shepard refuses.
The only way that makes any sense whatsoever, is in IT, where it very curiously makes perfect sense.

Very interesting results. I also find any religious person who chose synthesis very hypocritical. Is it because we at this thread tend to be quite logical? There are many atheists here, and we all know destroy is the right choice.paxxton wrote...

On a slightly related note, the mutliplayer banner "Death Guard or "Lone Wolf" should be the IT banner ingame.Rankincountry wrote...

This has been known for a while.
The more you look at things, the more the ending makes sense.
But they want you to UNDERSTAND CONTEXT, which it seems so many gamers loathe to do.
And IMO, the story is even bigger than IT itself, and if Bioware gets its way, we'll see how it goes beyond even the Milky Way galaxy.
(but yes, Shepard's *story* ends with ME3, whether a future game includes him/her as a character or even protagonist you control. But that's the same as saying that Omega's story starts in early ME2 and ends in ME3 DLC, even if somehow in a later game, we get to see a little bit of mention of Omega still)
EDIT: "Fall like a burningg starr!!" ... *looks at Earth pics of ME3, of 'burning stars falling'*
