The Catalyst's form is the Kid...
It should be included in the Kid option...

So I was thinking about Virmire today...we know that wasn't studying rapid indoctrination (since nothing was getting huskified)...but does anything ever suggest how he was implementing the slow indoctrination process? Might go a long way to help explain IT...

Well, in that lab on Virmire with the Krogan in it there are a few husks in those weird pod things that attack you.

But, to answer your question, I don't believe there are any specifics on how Saren was studying indoctrination other than those STG members saying that they performed "experiments" and then subsequently hearing voices.

can i chip in and say edi is also one of the methods of indoctrination? she has the husk eyes. she has certain enhanced body parts. and she leads shep right into the domain of the human reaper so he can be indoctrinated. Maybe the kid is edi? maybe that low humming noise in the normandy was edi indoctrinating shep?

old saying.

This actually sounds like one of these quotes to get cited in the future and falsly referenced to Einstein.

Quod one would be wrong. We do this as fans of the series and engage in speculations six plus months after because we are fans. People that specifically bash IT without reason and go so far as to ostracize ITers? Making us the butt of jokes? That's just petty and highschool bollocks right there. I would say it's mostly born out of their desire to be right so they can shove it in our faces that we're all wrong. But I didn't say that.

"You think the indoctrination only effects prisoners? Sooner or later, Saren will want to dissect my brain too."

"It's that ship. Sovereign. It emits some kind of signal. Undetectable, but it's there. I've seen the effects. Saren uses it to influence his followers. To control them. It's called indoctrination. Direct exposure to the signal turns you into a mindless slave, like the Salarian test subjects. But there's collateral damage, too"

"Sovereign's signal is too strong (weird sound effect here) spend too much time near the ship and you feel it, like a tingle at the back of your skull. It's like a whisper you can't quite hear, but you're compelled to do things but you don't know why. You just obey. Eventually, you just stop thinking for yourself. It happens to everyone at the facility. My first test subject was the man I replaced."

"The signal comes from the ship. It makes us obey Saren, but I don't think he controls it. Not exactly. I think... he's scared it might be affecting him. (weird sound effect here) Indoctrination is subtle, by the time the effects become noticeable, it's usually too late."

"Signal's not exactly the right word. There's some kind of energy field emanating from the ship. It changes thought patterns (weird sound effect here) Over time. Days. Maybe a week, it weakens your will. You become easier to manipulate and control, but it's a degenerative condition. There is a balance between control and usefulness. The less freedom a subject maintains, the less capable it becomes."

You're too quick to dismiss things as "stupid" without thinking about actual reasons that people are doing things. If you made more of an effort, you would understand it more. I like many of the people on this thread, that's why I came. I saw a post I could add to, that's why I posted. However, I guess that's just too stupid by your standards.

I'm just saying it's the first time in the trilogy the subs don't display the name of a character as he claims to be.

I know the reasons and Thisoneispunny is right about them. It is nothing but childish blather lashing out at us since they can't talk directly to Bioware. Again, it's stupid.

Nice one again Bill.

Especially that: "Over time. Days. Maybe a week, it weakens your will."

I think that is the only actual time measurement we have on the Indoctrination process. Now Saren, TIM and Shepard are probably undergoing subtler manipulation than normal, but that is still not alot of exposure it needs to take hold.

Add this bit: "Ultimately, the Reaper gains the ability to use the victim's body to amplify its signals, manifesting as "alien" voices in the mind," and it actually starts to seem quite amazing Shepard held out as long as he did.

Off course in a litteral view Shepard is some superhuman who is unaffected by Indoctrination despite it breaking such figures as Saren (greatest Spectre pre-Shep) and TIM. Still one of the biggest plot holes in a litteral interpretation if you ask me.

Did you really thinki that we'd be facing collectors in Omega? Really? Because that really makes no sense. Did you even think that we'd be seing the collectors again before that MP DLC was released?

I mean really, big whoop. Look, I'd rather be fighting soviet Spetznaz than Cerberus. We've never killed one of those in the series, have we? Neither have we killed any combine soldiers, or dragons!

We've literally no connections between ME3, the collectors, and Omega. However, we've had plenty foreshadowing about us having to fight Cerberus on Omega.

EDIT: Top!
