Also, question for everyone: if the scene with Shepard, Anderson, and TIM is all in Shepard's head, where do you guys think the real TIM is?

Omega?
Certainly his motivations for taking the place need to be made more clear...

Oh man, I know it's not really a possibility, but how fantastic would it have been if Omega was post-ending (like Arrival) and TIM, presumed KIA of course, walked out at some point during Omega?  That'd be quite a teaser, either for ME3 or the future game.

except FFZero - when you've got 3 persons in a scene the 180 dergee does not apply. Instead you get a triangle rule (which is mostly similiar, but there are more to it - you can do more and less at the same time.)

Not necessarily. The 180 degree rule is a fundamental part of every scene in a film, the amount of characters within a scene is irrelevant. Plus, for the most part the conversations in that scene are just between two of the characters, the third is normally always out of shot.

So if I understand it correctly, you keep the camera in roughly, but not necessarily exactly, the same position relative to the speakers. So it behaves as though it was actually our view point, as though we were standing there ourselves, more or less, and not zooming all over the place?

Thanks again for your explanations guys. It's actually surprising the stuff folks on the BSN have taught me about literary theory and such. Who said video games were a waste of time?

Exactly. The camera is essentially us, the viewer. Subtle changes to camera angles and shot types can make the world of difference in how we view and judge scenes. If you've ever watched a film and suddenly thought it visually looks weird even though everything seems normal it's because they're broken the 180 degree rule. You generally don't break the 180 degree rule unless it’s to show some kind of altered state of reality, so if a character dreaming, high, drunk etc.

Imo it's that strong in the TIM/Anderson scene because Shep is a) half dead B) has a huge headache from indoctrination c) is pumped with adrenaline.

Interesting! In this recording of priority earth, that i'm watching.. at 1.03.09 - Illusive man is about to shoot himself - and he raises his gun to his head, wobbling it a bit first - then it cuts to shepard looking at him - and she does the exact same thing with her gun!! 1.03.11   - that is a change brought in with the EC! It was not like that in the original.

My goodness, that's awesome :D

Yes because Shep makes that same motion all the time since forced to point the gun at Anderson goshdammit. It has absolutely nothing to do with TIMs motions.

It's a minor thing. We can just leave it off the list because it's inconclusive.

What? Are you kidding? What's inconclusive about a scene where Shep does the same motion she did for the last idk, 5 minutes? Seriously just because it's nice for IT... that is stuff why other people laughing at us.

You know what?  I agree with you.  This is NOT something important.  Like I said, it's interesting, but that doesn't mean that it means ANYTHING.  Megumi is right, it's the same movement that Shepard has been making since the beginning of that scene.

scratch what I said. At any rate, Dwailing and I agreed with her so whatever. This is the normal way we sift through evidence. We don't just cling to little things .

I'm glad we got that cleared up. I see now that it's not important and Batman's right, when one of us claims something, we need others to test its validity. It's what you guys have done from the start.

Perhaps you guys just don't see it. or don't notice the exact thing im' talking about- at 01.03.11 shep is almost pointing her gun to her own head exactly like the Illusive man does a split second before he shoots himself.

And TIM looks at the gun while it wobbles. That further emphasizes it's importance.
