You know there is only one thing that I thought was weird in Destroy, where are the synthetics being created, and why do we not see they cycle starting all over again.
Because that would be a huge f*cking middle finger to the majority of the fanbase. That's why.
EDIT: Wow, top of the page 3 times in a row. Prepare to be ousted, Banshee!
It wouldn't be the first time. Halo Reach was pretty successful. Then there's God of War: Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta and the promising looking Acension, Deus Ex: HE, Metal Gear Solid 3 and metroid prime are just a few.
A ME prequel about the rachni or contact war seem to be likely possibilities. I would love to play as Anderson during the contact war.
Halo Reach was successful, but the Halo writers have never exactly been too attached to continuity, or explaining things very well.
In Reach, you just accept the fact that despite it taking place before Halo 1, you have better armor and weapons than Master Chief does in Halo 3.
In a Mass Effect game, you wouldnt really accept that.
Of course not. I found that Armor thing weird myself but didn't really care since my interest in Halo declined somewhere in the middle of 3.
But I would love to play as Anderson during the contact war. It'll work great, since he has no biotics or seems to use any super armor. I'd like his three part series to include the contact war, his run in with Saren and being shafted out of the Spectre position and ending with him giving Shepard command of the Normandy.
Three whole games ending with Anderson getting screwed over?

Because the Guardian is full of crap. (Yes I know you know that.)

That'd go over well.
I wouldn't want to play a ME game where I'm not even allowed to choose what gender I wanna play as. Also, that kinda DLC would not have any romance in it.

But doesn't refues/reject a finger to us fans that wanted to have a coventinal victory, and say f*** you to the Catalyst?

That IS an interesting thought now, isn't it? I mean, no matter which ending you choose, it looks like the future is something of a utopia if you played your cards right. Even Destroy has a very idyllic look if you did things a certain way. The only really BAD ending is Rejection, and it's quite possible that it will be improved in time.

Uh, I don't know. Lurkers! If you're out there, please post your opinions on the current discussions. I'd like to see what people other than the main group think about our various discussions.
They are interesting and mindopening as always. As english is not my native language, I do not post regulary, otherwise I would contribute a little more.
As of the new DLC, there will be subtle changes according to the IGN article. I guess these subtle changes will only be noticed by the IT'ers
Edit: Top of the page? Sorry Banshee
I'm interested by the fact we've been told there'll be easter eggs. Naturally it'll be like a race when the DLC releases to see who spots them first

Any chance of a release date for leviathan? I'm pretty sure we'll have plenty to speculate on when that's out.

OK, I couldn't stay away. I was just listening to We Fought As A United Galaxy (The Rejection track, I believe.), and the ending sounded kind of abrupt, much like An End Once And For All. It seemed to build to a climax (No jokes please.), and then just stopped.
Heh.
But seriously, there's a lot to be taken away from the music. Play someone the "Control" ending soundtrack, the "Synthesis" ending soundtrack and the "Destroy" ending soundtrack. Someone who's not played Mass Effect.
Then ask them which one sounds like a victory/happy ending sort of piece

Exactly, you say F*ck you to the catalyst. That's what fans wanted. Refuse itself isn't really a middle finger, and most refusers also don't think it is.
curiously, what's your strongest piece of IT evidence? that one thing that makes you go "yep, that's gotta be it"? try and stick to one thing.
If I had to choose one thing, I'll pick a story detail. Shepard is talking with a representation of the Reaper's collective goal and 2 out of the 3 choices, while argued to be great alternatives to the carnage of Destroy, are nothing more than the same ideal vision described to us by previous indoctrinated agents. The series' main villians, in fact. Destroy is the only option that ends with no Reapers and thus is a viable way forward. Either choosing Destroy wakes Shepard up or activates the Crucible properly but either way, it seems as if Separd is talking with the master controller of indoctrination at the end of the game rather than indoctrinated agents. Hardly a trustworthy source.
Epyon that'd be awful IMO. We'd be replaying a book weve already read with no customisation or choice. Bleurgh no thank you.
According to the ME2 codex, the book we read was just a dramatization of the events that happened. They could just say the writer took liberties with it, and let us still make choices that go against what the book said happened.
I'm confident that Leviathan is actually in hiding because the catalyst will eventually try to take control over it. I'm 100% certain that the reaper we see flying around is in fact Leviathan. We don't see him attacking organics until after Shepard refuses. He gets Leviathan to risk exposing himself and end the reapers once in for all only to not fire the Crucible.
Which gave the Catalyst ample time to take over. He then starts to take out organic ships after you refuse. That's when Shepard's face looks disappointed, because it's there that he realizes that he had wasted his chance and let down all his allies, including a reaper!

"Ahh. This must be your protégé, commander Estebanus!" Anyway I'm gonna go eat then play MP. See ya later!

I don't doubt that at all. Control is not a fun and joyful sound.
