Just to add to the ‘whereabouts in London is the final mission taking place’ discussion from yesterday, last night Megumi and I came up with a rough area of where the beam could be.

Posted Image

As we can see here in this cinematic the beam isn’t too far away from the river Thames and according to the names of the files to do with the London level part of it takes place in and around Oxford Circus, my guess would be the FOB.

As you can see here in this map we start off by Big Ben then we make our way to Oxford Circus/FOB and then to the beam which Megumi and I think could be somewhere within the area circled in red. However since to the best of my knowledge there’s no real way of knowing in game where the Beam run takes place, as there’s no landmarks of any kind to go by, this is all pure 100% speculation. Personally I think it’s where Buckingham Palace is/was, which led to me finding something interesting but most likely coincidental.

Look at the Palace from above, see anything familiar? Two paths branching off from a central focal point…like the decision chamber.

Posted Image

Like I said, probably a coincidence. However, if we’re right about where the beam is I find it interesting that it’s placed pretty much right next to where the UK’s government/military HQ is.

Also just to add, the detail they put into the London cinematics is actually quite incredible, even down to the details on some of the bridges, it’s all right.

Thanks for this guys.  Absolutely fantastic.

Buckingham Palace as a seat of power naturally makes perfect sense as the location for the new 'throne'...

Do you see where I'm going with this...

Wow @ the both of you for locating it (the possible area) + that the fountain area resembles the decision chamber a bit.
BW maybe chose that place for it to be exactly because it looked a bit like that. However, the fact that we only get a way-too-short glimpse on the possible whereabouts of the beam (a split second in the cinematics) this fits to the rest of BW's high level of details for parts that probably remain unnoticed, if not explicitly looked for.

Very interesting indeed!

LOL. Speaking of Cerberus someone mentioned that Miranda should have known where TIM was. I have to say that's pretty compelling. Either Miranda is still working for TIM or she's not. Either Miranda is built like Shepard but with a control chip or she's just 100% built like a human.
It makes sense in ME2 that she's working for TIM but by ME3 she's already done some interesting things:
ME Redemption-Miranda meets with Liara and Feron on Omega after a fight Liara had with Blue Sun mercenaries. Miranda tells Liara that they have the same goal and brings her to meet the Illusive Man
From ME2-Evidently, Miranda has advanced far enough to become one of the few in the organization, much less the galaxy, that meets and answers directly to the Illusive Man, who appreciates her abilities.
From ME3-If Miranda survived those events, she tells Shepard she had the time to place a tracking device on Kai Leng during their short encounter, allowing Shepard and the Alliance to find the Illusive Man's location
So two things 1 Liara also knows where TIM is so why doesnt she tell you? and 2- Why the tracking device when Miranda can just take you to him?

Mass Effect: Retribution
As far as I recall, at the end, TIM orders to move his base of operations (-> Cronos Station). Thus, Miranda/Liara knew the old location not the current one.

Why don't you just ask BioWare where they put it in London? (and possibly why as well...) I am sure they would be happy enough to answer. It's not like it could reveal anything, and it's not about IT for a change.

I did ask Jessica Merizan and Chris Priestly when I was at Gamescom, they gave me two completely different answers…

Yes, Chronos Station is not stationary, and that was posted over and over now >.>

Have you guys read this yet?

"There will be a new Weekend Challenge available every weekend, not every two weeks like our current schedule. On top of the Weekend Challenges, we will be unlocking new kits and other surprises each week to help your squad in that next big push against the Collectors."

Hinting much?? It's supposed to be about MP...meaning all the factions are equal to developers eyes. So why pick out one faction over the others? (other than that Retaliation was released recently)

For clarity, where exactty did you two think the various things happened?  Your link didn't work.

If the FOB is Big Ben, wouldn't we be much closer to the beam than the FOB?  Wouldn't we be able to see it really close?  Or did I miss something - were we actually very close to the beam initially?

The route was anything but a direct route.

The link should work now but in case it does't, the FOB is around Oxford Circus and the Beam is around the area of Buckingham Palace.

Oops guess I missed the part about it being movable. But if Miranda directly meets with TIM would she not still know where it is?

Ok, sorry I guess I didn't explain very well, what I mean is, can we see the beam close when we're at Big Ben?  In the game I mean?    Because Big Ben is much closer to the palace than Oxford Circus.

I’m not sure, it’s been a while since I played through the ending and at that point I was a little too busy trying to keep Shepard alive. :P

Btw is it just me or are the 3 huge structures around the beam 3 Reapers who dug in? If yes it's like "Indoctrination for everyone!" 8D

Possibly.  Gotta love how the characters are just staring at the beam as though in a trance in this picture.

Wow, slow day, isn't it? Anyway, I agree that those "prongs," for lack of a better word, look like embedded Reapers. And that would explain the datapad. :)

So the Indoctrination signal at the so called Conduit Beam could be three times stronger than normal, plus whatever Harbinger can project.

Just because it's awesome:
Davik Kang - step forward.
It is the decision of the thread's board that you be granted all the powers and privileges of the Indoctrination Theorists branch of the BSN.
ITers are not trained, but chosen individuals forged in the fire of service and analysis; those whose actions elevate them above average and naifs.
ITers are an ideal, a symbol. The embodiment of resilience, determination and self-reliance. They are the right hand of the BSN, instruments of BioWare's will.
ITers bare a great burden. They are protectors of galactic lore, both BioWare's first and last line of defense. The consistency of the lore is theirs to uphold.

Edit: Just for you Home Run (link), note Tevos' nod.

Awesome.

The Reaper noises take any credibility from that scene imo.

Hey, you're right. Oh, cool, it's my endgame squad! It's rare to actually see that area without having to run down it. Which reminds me: Why would the reapers just leave that beam there to go to the citadel? I mean, just turn it off until they deal with the fleets overhead! Are they making a reaper in there? I didn't see one. Does it matter? It would take time, and reapers are patient enough to wait a bit before continuing the harvest, especially if it means wiping out virtually all resistance. In addition, it's not like many humans even go up the beam during the battle. Just Shepard and Anderson apparently.

Assuming you're not joking.

Those outer spikes are pretty high.
If those are indeed Reaper capital ships then it's not the Sovereign class ones we've seen. Any Reapers from the end sequence of ME2 that have huuuge ass backs? Either there are Reapers who can extend their back (the Destroyer in London got massive gun on it, so it's possible).

But I think it wouldn't be a too big of a deal for the Reapers to just build that thing. After all, it could have the purpose of luring Shep there. That's a goal that's probably worth such an investment. :D

@ Banshee
Yeah, I got used to Garrus and Liara as my tag team. Don't know why.
Even when I replay the trilogy, I have to force myself to change it up, to get a different experience.
