If EMS is 4000+ then three crew members will exit in the Destroy and Control endings; Joker and two of the player's most-favored crew mates.[/list]Besides, why else would it have by far the most EMS required? Almost double synthesis if Anderson is shot. Also, this is another example of an impossibility. Why would Shepard survive because Anderson didn't get shot? Oh, right. Because he represents the "clean" part of Shepard's mind. The crew getting out is the same thing.
Yep! It all makes sense.

No, he still gets shot BY YOU. TIM may later shoot Anderson AGAIN. That's what you can prevent.

Nah, it means shot again. Shepard always shoots Anderson and doesn't apologize. Which actually makes sense in IT, since it would be pointless to apologize to yourself. In literal however, it is inexcusable.starlitegirlx wrote...

Here's how I see it: Whether intentionally or not, BW has in fact indoctrinated much of the playerbase. The fun thing about that is you can't really argue it, because said portion of the playerbase aligned themselves with the reapers willingly. If BW didn't intend this, they indoctrinated themselves, much like what the reapers may have done. Bravo.

Oh that makes sense. Well, now I just talk Tim into suicide. Thought I also like shooting him. Both are fun for me.

Doesn't that then make the message that as a gamer all our actions have been futile and pointless, that what we're doing doesn't achieve anything because we've been brainwashed? Video games are a pointless pursuit, seems to be an odd message sent by a games company. That smacks far to much of bio trying to be really artsy and clever and not having thought it through.

Though, listening to the trio talking as if both TIM and Anderson are talking to Shepard and Shepard is talking only to one other person instead of two person seems to change the context of the dialogue.
Then again listening to the trio as if they are all the same voice, Shepard's, it changes the context again to make it seem as if Shepard is just arguing with himself (yes I know it's been discussed hundreds of times now lol)

I'm not indoctrinated...
I still want to use the crucible to destroy the Reapers...
I sure as hell don't want to dominate them or forcibly alter people into the pinnacle of evolution...

I'm sure someone said this about Super Mario Bros yet I still get a kick out of running underneath Bowser and hitting the axe/button and getting the "Sorry but the Princess is in another castle" and eventually running under the real Bowser and hitting the axe/button and saving the real Princess. I know it may not advance anything but just my own gratification that I once again saved the Mushroom Kingdom
Fast forward to ME 1,2,3 and the same thing, I get a kick out of saving the galaxy and making choices along the way that I felt was satisfying and reaching the end - figuring out the true ending then just like the ending of Mario, my quest is now over after ME 3 but I'll be presented with a new quest when ME 4 comes out.

I suppose the best thing that can happen for ME 4 is that TIM never really died and he may have had the last Reaper causing a resurgance, retaliation in the next game. Because he was offline perhaps during the TIM/Reaper upload, the crucible/citadel weapon never actually targeted and/or never actually destroyed him. That could create a Reaper threat for ME 4 even if it's a singular Reaper. With most of the galaxy devastated this one reaper could still wreak havok. As for substantiative evidence, that I'd have to go search for

I think it more is a message that going through the motions and actions in life is not enough. You've got to think and look at what is happening and choose your reactions to all things wisely because this whole damn world is working to brainwash you. Everywhere you go, there it is. How you should look. How you should act. What you should believe regarding almost everything in life. And people just take stances without sussing out what is really happening. People take stances for all the wrong reasons. They pick a side and stick with it the way we see some of the control and synthesis players doing. Heck, even we are picking a side, but we're doing it after examining all the information given throughout the game rather than 'I like this outcome best'. We're in this thread because we've looked at all the infomation the game has given me and examined it and drawn conclusions. For me, that youtube documentary got me thinking about IT, but in replays, after seeing this possibility, I examined the genophage and curing it and the geth/quarian war and making peace and started seeing the parallels. Then I dug into the conversations with crew and saw all the information was there as well. First run I chose control. Totally indoctrinated. Didn't want to kill the geth. Felt awful because I couldn't save the quarians and make peace. But now, I choose destroy because it's the only right answer.
Fact is that even if I want my shepard reuninted with LI and crew and even if I'm not loving the game in totality, I still love the messages it drives home and see that it's a much deeper game when you play it beyond the level of just playing it for 'fun' shooting and fights. And that's a great analogy to life and society. Most people go through blindly doing whatever they want or choose, and they don't pay attention and think about things and come to their own conclusions. Most don't have a strong sense of self. Most can't make a fully aware well informed and educated conclusion on their own. They'd rather be spoonfed something and take it as is beause it's easier than looking at things and seeing that the world will make you a lot of promises and very few of them are true, just like that starbrat. You have to know where you stand and what you believe before you even get to that moment where it all comes into the equation and you've got to make a decision. players didn't like being thrust into these unexpected decisions but that's the world we live in everyday. Very savvy to use it in a game that way. So now they have to choose just like in life but if they weren't paying attention they'll pick what looks best, just like in life, and then defend it to the death if they aren't open minded about it. But they should have been paying attention along the way because then those decisions might have been clearer and the right one, rarely the easiest one, would have stood out.
Just my 2 cents. personally, even if they never back IT, the themes and points made in the game are pretty powerful and still put the game up a few notches because it wasn't just a random shoot 'em up but actually inspired thought and curiosity and looking at how actions effect outcomes when you're trying to change or control things you shouldn't.
