Don't you find that odd that all of the sudden, the ship made by a terrorist group, that is considered an enemy of the allience, and is full of unknown tech (which may even be reaper tech since cerberus is known to play around with much of that) - suddenly becomes the flagship for a commander of the whole fleet which is prepping to fight the reaper invasion?

Not really. Its a damned good ship, and the alliance engineers basically tore out everything inside and replaced it to make sure it wasnt bugged by Cerberus. That was the point of the the retrofit.

They weren't really that thorough, judging by the results of their retrofit.  How do you make a ship that has an unshacled AI a flagship in a war agaings reapers? I mean from allience point of veiw? (we know that EDI is nice, cause we spent a game with her. As far as the allince is conserned AIs are to be destroyed on sight.)

Some of the tech in the unfinished or un-panelled sections looks decidedly reaperish though...

Its almost like they want you near the beam. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

If they didn't want you to get to the beam... wouldn't they just turn it off?

OMG! No!
I was traumatized by that stupid ending...
It's so bad because it is not even ambiguous or vague, it's stupidity with 100% certainty.
They ended a series that was started under the banner of "naturalistic science fiction" and did great during the first two seasons (the third was still good, but moved more to mystery; the fourth season had good parts such as the mutiny plot) with an anti-progressive ending that supports a religious-fundamentalistic, pseudo-scientific theory, known as Creationism, while most of the characters act totally against their previous roles.
I think that the nihilistic end of season 4.5 would've been better and it certainly did match the depressive tone of the series.

Since I played ME3 in august and I already heard of the garbage endings, I feared something like BSG would happen. Can you imagine what happened when I saw the child in that chamber? I was like "OMG! Please not some religous ass-pull, not again, I won't survive that...!!!". As the child turned out to be the Reaper's avatar, I was releaved and told the child to shove it... hehehe. That's why I actually liked the ME3, since it was not a BSG finale and has lot's of ambiguity BSG lacked.

I'm not a huge fan of that series, but the religious part was no asspull. They alluded to it from the very first season.

Very true. All that One True God talk started out right away with the blonde cylon. Six?

Except, in the visions what-his-name was having she was an Angel. I dunno, it's hard to make sense of it .

In fairness, you did have to fight through the Reaper ground army to get to the hill.

However it does look like the beam run is their plan, not ours.

I agree with exactly what you said about the Dark Energy plot being ridiculous btw.

Okay, I concede it that Adjutants do not look like Salarians.
The thing is, that I thought the foot of the Adjutant is actually the lower part of a leg with some kind of hoof as foot. But it's clearly some kind of humanoid foot with only one joint. I mentioned the problem with the hands in my first post.
Yet the heads could easily be Salarian-like. Just imagine the two horns to excessively grow until they touch each other and unite.
To the Scion argument:
Well, Collectors do have Abominations and Husks... so that is no counter-argument from Scions not being made off of humans.

Perhaps Scions are that lost race on Ilos where the prothean scientists and vigil were in ME1? They look like them with the tenticle mouths.

You mean the Inusannon?

yes, possibly. i meant Adjutants though. I put scions but i meant adjutants.

edit:
And it's QEC which used to be point ot point to Normandy to Illusive man is suddenly modified to communicate along all the most important personas in the fleet?

But the Alliance doesn't know reaper tech from a rock. They're still denying it exists. So while the cerberus ship is probably loaded with it given that EDI had it so why not stick it all around the ship, especially since Tim loved to stick reaper tech in everything, including himself.

The Normandy was a little wannabe reaper. No doubt there.

Not quite, EDI still needs the IFF to emulate Reaper thought patterns.

How Reapers can have guaranteed victory:

Turn off Beam. Wipe out Hammer. Turn on beam

I can just imagine a game in a few years where you play as either a husk, marauder, or cannibal searching for answers to why they are what they are. A dlc is released called "Harbinger" where you must search for the fabled Harbinger who was strong enough to kill a dreadnought. When you finally reach him, you'll get the dialogue option
"Why didn't you just turn off the beam?" Here's the dialogue.

Cannibal: You didn't turn off the beam despite seeing all those troops running towards it. You knew it would take them to the one control panel that could defeat you. Why!?

Harbinger: You cannot imagine a world that bends to your will. The beam was envisioned as simply another tool.

Seriously, arrogance cannot be the answer for every stupid moves that have happened in the series. That's just terrible writing if it is.

I don't know about that. They tried to take control of it and EDI protected them by flooding their systems with 7 zetabytes of porn. So clearly they still had some access or ability to control it or to try to do so. So much for that retrofit.

The control panel doesn't even make sense. It's all more likely a hallucination of a feeble mind.

The problem here is that the beam in the EC is imo just there to demonstrate the difference (in one ending the beam is active, in another it is not). You wouldn't be able to see a beam of light 1.5 to 2 meters in diameter from that distance. Because of that it is my opinion it wasn't shown before but in the EC to only differentiate it.

Fair point.  I'm not convinced, but of course the burden of proof is on me here, as it should be.  Your point is solid.

Well, you have a tendency these days to see Reapers in everything. We pride ourselves on not being conspiracy theorists but some of the stuff you put forth has conspiracy theory logic, trying to fit a hypothesis to the facts rather than taking the facts to make a hypothesis.

I think you can see dead Cerby troops right after beaming up, the one hanging over the cable specifically. Mostly Alliance though.

Also it's not "The Delusive Man" though it might fit.

Maybe, but in the video the way EDI responds is that she didn't tell shepard because shepard had other concerns. Now here is the thing, It was only the last minutes of the suicide mission that Shepard turns on Tim. So he doesn't need to get the ship back until then. So it has to be during ME3. Nothing else makes sense since Shepard pretty much turns his/herself in shortly after. For some reason I'm thinking it was around Turchunka timeframe. I don't know why that is in my mind. If it's something EDI said. But EDI says shepard had other things to worry about (or something along those lines) and it was under control. I'm sure that's referring to ME3.

I'm saying making normandy a flagsip for all system's allince fleet has some odd logic behind it. Certainly not a military logic. Military logic is paranoid. Making a ship comandeered from an enemy, filled with unkown tech your flagship, and main comm ship is reckless. No sane military would do that.
It's like america capturing Taliban's spec ops cell, and after some qeustioning appointing those people in charge of  pentagon high command.
