Shepard's in rubble in london. Never even made it to the beam because you're wearing your armor then suddenly not? That's way to questionable to ignore. I still don't know how control and synthesis people justify that one or do they just completely ignore it. It's screaming WTF?! Too jarring to ignore. It's like they shove it down your damn throat. Armor. No armor. Please tell me where the armor went? Did it magically get burned off leaving my casual wear completely fine? And my skin? No burns there either? Very very very strange. Like a dream. Yes. Dream strange.

Yeah, we've been arguing this with them for 7 months.

Really? They're that dense? Wow. Best not to have contact with them then. They're already indoctrinated. Might go all husky at any moment. Just steer clear.

Yeah. It's that bad. I would pay to see you debate Ieldra though.

What if Leviathan indoctrinates the Reaper while the Reaper indoctrinates Leviathan and they switch places?

We have no beginning and no end.

They sure don't call it a cycle for no reason.

After I'm hit with the beam. It's gone. It was there but then it's gone. And I'm in causuals I dont' even wear.

That sounds like a bug to me.

It's urban fantasy because it takes place in modern times mixed with magic. The myth is just part of the fantasy part.

I think Shepard is still wearing armor. It's just different armor lol. And space saran wrap protects from burns. They just punch two air holes for his nostrils. Explains the lack of burns and presence of the nose bleed.

I'm sure you're probably joking but starlite means the armor you wore to run down the conduit toward the beam.

That is not casual wear it's Shepard default N7 armour charred, just imagine if they had to make a specific burnt texture for every combination of armour people uses...

...what? You're wearing armor the whole time...

Yes, in battle. AAARRRRMMMOOOORRRR. And then the beam hits and GONE! How am I suddeenly not wearing armor? Because I'm in a dream or whatever harby is doing it me. Point is, it ain't real. Know how I know this? My armor has vanished, and if you want to be extra technical, the casual wear I'm in is not the one I have been wearing. It's the one from the opening scene. But I wear the ones with the white on the sides. So I'm not even wearing the right casual wear. So that's how I know it's a dream. It's harby. Even the first time I played it, without ever hearing about IT, when shep was suddenly not wearing armor I was like WTF?! So that's my proof. It's BIG proof. Because how does your armor get blown off you so perfectly? How? It doesn't. It just doesn't.

You're right. It doesnt. Thats why it Shepard is still wearing charred armor after getting hit by the beam.

You're either remembering wrong or your game glitched, because at no point after getting hit by the beam does Shepard wear casual wear. She wears charred armor.

That doesnt sound like what starlite means at all. Starlite is saying your armor gets blown off and you're wearing the gear from Vancouver.

They're all connected. They go on to the afterlife together. The end bookends the beginning. The beginning Jack opens his eyes, the end Jack closes his eyes. It reveals Jack was always the true hero. Jack becomes the smoke monster, Hurley the new island caretaker until Walt is ready to take it on, and Ben as their helpers. pretty profound ending to me. Special effects are not so important.

If they really didn't want to render a bunch of different armor they should have worked it into the story. Like giving Shepard a fancy new suit (Deflects Harbinger Lasers at 85% effectiveness lol) in London that some group just completed so everyone is wearing the same thing

Your outer armor is melted down to a blackened core, which is what is melted. It's not the n7 armor, because the n7 at the end is Shep's dog tags. But more importantly, shepard survives a blast from harbinger that melts off his/her armor, but Shepard's face, hands, etc do not seem to be burned at all from something that should have melted Shep's face off.

Also, one would wear their soldier uniform beneath the armor.

Shepard doesn't go commando under a piece of armor. Shep would have to wear a uniform underneith. Not the fancy one but the camos.

No. I'm in london and I get hit with the beam and then I have to do that half death march to the beam and my armor is gone. It's normal game stuff. Everyone has it. I'm in casual wear after that, the outfit from the opening scene. There's nothing buggy about it. It's normal game.

Someone help me here. I cannot be the only one that gets up after the beam hits and finds my armor is gone and I'm in normal casual wear holding a pistol dragging my butt to the beam.

Great job! all great points.
I have an idea - that QEC communicators are actually direct link into a reaper - by calling someone on the QEC we use a reaper as a telehpone node - and they can not only listen in - but also influence those who use QEC. Which in ME3 is Shepard, Anderson and Hackett. And the Dalatress.

BTW if i remember correctly - it was the fifth and the third fleets that were used in the battle of the citatedel to take down sovereign, no?
Hackett was there and Michailovich was there.

Thanks.  I found some things about the Systems Alliance and some other stuff which I went over earlier in the thread today.  I do think the QEC is highly suspicious.  It is yet another example of how we use Reaper tech to our advantage.  Under Hackett's guidance we become more and more like Cerberus.  It's also mentioned in Leviathan that this is how the artifacts work too.

About the fleets, I said in that posts that it was indeed their fleets which survived the ME1 battle, and notably, with the fewest casualties too.  They backed each other up.  And the result was they both got promoted.

starlitegirlx wrote...
Oh my. He is indoctrinated. Makes sense and even if you go back to arrival - I bet he knew his friend was indoctrinated. I just wonder when it happened. Maybe he went to find her. Benson? Was that her name? And maybe he got indoctrinated there. And then he sent shepard wanting shepard to get indoctrinated. That would make sense. Then has to lock her up.

Also, I remember the big deal of why hadn't they heard from Hackett in the beginning. That is too notable to forget or dismiss. Quite deliberate.

I have always found a flaw in them saying the light goes up to the citadel. I never thought it made sense that they knew that once I realized the citadel was in space. Also wondered why they bet everything on getting into the beam because they seemed so certain it would lead to a place that would get them to where they could open the arms, but in reality, it was massive. Too massive to know for sure where shepard would end up. In truth, that was my biggest issue with priority earth. Rushing toward the beam sounded like the dumbest thing I'd ever heard. Still does.

It's quite depressing because if all this is right, then basically the end is Casey and Walters deciding that the Reapers win, but presenting it in such a way that the player thinks they can win.  So I hope I'm wrong in many ways.  But there are a lot of coincidences.

I have heard that we never see Hackett at all until Arrival.  It his his arrival as well.

Rushing toward the beam is a big issue.  All the datapads suggest that collecting everybody in one place is a very bad idea.  They all imply that "the word" should be spread that everyone needs to spread out and hide in the dark.  It may be related to Leviathan's plea that the darkness not be breached.

The thing is, are the people leaving the messages indoctrinated, or are Hackett and Anderson?  One especially depressing datapad is the one near Anderson.  That person finds a way to not have to go to the beam, and the answer is to commit suicide.

Just dropping in to say:

1)Your Hackett stuff is amazing. *clap clap*

2)While ME3 may be the 'perfect illusion' of an ending...

That doesn't mean MASS EFFECT itself is lost. For all we know, ME4 may very well be the true end of the Reapers, or even DLC this or next year.
