That is a map of the Presidium Tower in ME1. The top is where the lift is, the ring is where the fountain is, etc. At the bottom is where you meet the council.

It does look like a Reaper, but it has nothing to do with the end of ME3. The Reapers built the Citadel, so it would be their kind of humour to let that room look like a Reaper.

I wonder if they planted the pretty cherry blossom trees too? Maybe sent in the collectors with some gardening sheers.

"All organics must destroy or control synthetic lifeforms."

I know this is only the bravado of a rogue AI on the Citadel, but its interesting none the less. I picked up on this during my last playthrough as well. From its perspective, the downtrodden tool that's seeking escape, that's how it sees organic motives - destroy or control.

And thus, looking down at their inferiors in an inverted manner, the Reapers only really see two ways to deal with organics - destroy or control. If they can't control you, they'll destroy you.

And ultimately, Synthesis is both of them at the same time - destroying organic life, and controlling what results from the merger. Its machine effieciency at its best.

Synthesis would be the Intelligence (cough Harbinger?) still following its programming in a way only an abomination can <3

Isn't it the map of council chamber back in ME1?

That's no Reaper. It's a Corkscrew.

I think what he's trying to say is that it resembles the final sequence, i.e. the walk to the room with Anderson and TIM, then the decision chamber.  Huh, just realized, taken together, that sequence looks like a Reaper. :)

yes, this is what I'm saying. Ignore that it's the council chambers other than the shape is roughly what the end sequence is. Ignore that it's a reaper ( I already knew that, I've been here since april). It resembles the walk to the room with TIM and Anderson and then the decision chamber. The floorplan anyway. The fountain from ME1 council chamber would be where Shepard collapsed and Starbinger brought him up.

I hope you don't think I was snarking. I thought you were referring to the tower side that points up toward the arms. The general shape is right, which makes sense since Shepard meets up with the Catalyst on the underside of the tower.

yeah, the general shape is what's important.

It's strangely cook that the map of the citadel from ME1 looks like the reaper in ME3. I wonder if that was intentional. We only saw sovereign twice in ME1 during liftoff on eden prime and when it was humping the pole or whatever you call it. I have to say that some of the images of these reapers are just comical to me. In ME1 at the end it looks like it's having sex with the pole. In ME3 in the opening scene it looks like it's urinating on everything. The reapers don't scare me at all because of this. They're cartoons to me. The ground forces actually concern me more.

Really. <_<:pinched: The main enemies of the series don't worry you, but mind controlled troops do. All they are is a distraction. That's how the Reapers win. They swarm you with your own troops and distract you from using your full potential on the true enemy.

(Just realized this too) That's what is happening with Priority: London. All they are doing is distracting you from the real threat.

1)Your Hackett stuff is amazing. *clap clap*

Thanks, though I feel compelled to point out that the reason I put all that together in two evenings was because almost everything I looked at involving Hackett pointed to the same conclusion. It's one of the reasons why I think the ME writers are smarter than we're giving them credit for at the moment. And also why I think Omega will involve more reveals, but that they won't be things that aren't already in the game - they'll just be things we haven't noticed yet.

ME1: We work for Council.
ME2: We work for Cerberus, Council proves itself to be unhelpful
ME3: We work for Alliance, Cerberus proves itself to be an enemy, Council returns to have your back
ME4: We work for ????? (ourselves?), ????? (Alliance?) proves itself to be an enemy, Cerberus returns to have our back???

however, it brings him up just short of where the citadel opening area was when Saren was messing with the citadel controls at the end of ME1. However, the citadel controls are there in front of that fountain area, plucked from Shepard's memories.

EDIT: I realize this sounds confusing because I'm talking about one map overlayed over another map.

Its not the armor I wear either, but I'm willing to let it slide, since making a charred version of every bit of armor would have taken far too long.

I thought of something that I think Anderson says. Though I'm going to have to hunt it down. It was something Davik Kang said when he was posting about Hacket and the plan for the beam run. If it wasn't Anderson who said it it'll take a while.

Can't remember who it was that inverted the colors and revealed the Starchild as a "oily ghost kid" using a picture.

I took that a step further and did it to the whole ending sequence with the Starchild.

Currently encoding the video. Should be done in about 6 minutes. Then I'm going to upload it to Youtube. Looks really trippy when you first see it.

The fact that the show exists in-universe is shown in an easter egg, but thats hardly canonizing it.

That was smokingotter.  He always comes up with the most fascinating things.  I don't know if BW intended us to invert the colors, but it certainly seems to fit.

Edit: Top.  Darn, where're estebanus and Banshee when you need them? :)
