Hello everyone, have I missed anything groundbreaking in the past few days?

Anderson and Hackett are indoctrinated and leading us all to our doom.  As such Shepard is the catalyst for humanity's harvest at the hands of the Reapers.  It's also possible she has to shoot herself at the end.

Otherwise not much.

Also is anyone else here going to the MCMExpo this weekend?

Is there anything worth going for?  I had a quick look at the website, not sure.

Well that stuff about Shepard is rather depressing...

As for the MCMExpo, Evil Chris and Jessica are going to be there for the entire thing and are doing a panel on Saturday. What it's about they haven’t said yet but probably DA3, Omega DLC and fan Q&A. Also Jack and Liara’s VA’s are going to be there.

Paxx are you getting paid by MS to promote their products or something? Seriously that seems to be all you’ve been doing lately, on here and Origin all you keep talking about is either windows 8 or their new tablets.:P

I saw that a while ago. I always figured it was a screw up in graphics.

Of course, I'm at the point where once you realize it is IT, there's really not much reason to continue. Sometimes there is more evidence but sometimes it just seems like what does it matter? They killed my shepard and the reapers won. What's the point?

So finally finished Revelation and it's made pretty clear that Saren hasn't really changed since Evolution and that Sovereigns indoctrination signals take only a very short period of time to have lasting effects.
So TIM might really had only humanities best interest in mind in ME2.

I had that done last night, but it was getting late and my brain needed sleep. I'll start uploading it now.

But he still let Saren have some control still until you kill him on the Citadel, where he beings to talk about Synthesis

This could mean that TIM could have been fully indoctrinated, but still given some control. He would have been much more convincing to Shepard if it was his own words. This meant he would have been more likely to keep Shepard from destroying the reaper base.

It's still clear that he's indoctrinated from the first time you meet him in person.

Yep seen it, it's nicely put together as are Prettz Zell's other vids, it was one of the things that got me looking at the whole of Priority Earth and Anderson in the first place, which then led me to Hackett.

His logic is at least always consistent, though his methods become crude and eventually extreme.  It's notable how the Alliance has no qualms using what TIM provided for them.  He does even apply his techniques to his own body (in the 4th Cronos video set) so he does at least believe the things he preaches.

How much is himself and how much is indoctrination is hard to determine.  It's not so different to trying to figure out how much of P:E is real and how much is a dream/hallucination.

It would make sense to TIM's actions in ME2 and to why he went insane in ME3

There are two good examples in the book of how indoctrination can affect it's victims differently. Both had only brief exposure.
One, a human scientific doctor who was a genius, was researching how to create a system to interact with Sovereign. Basically how to unlock it. He was described as getting mad and unstable from outside, even that if he's not working on the interface it looked like he was in real physical pain.
The other one, a rich batarian businessman, had a way subtler control exerted over him. He made it a policy never to work with a human, but from the moment on he traveled to Sovereign for an inspection he started to (the doctor from above) and made choices that are described as wildly out of character, while for himself everything seemed reasonable as "that was
only because they were unaware of the sheer magnitude of what he'd stumbled across."
Page 244/245 and the epilogue are interesting here.

That's why I only talked about TIM in ME2 as I cannot make any statements about TIM in ME3.

Yeah.

It makes you wonder exactly how much his actions would have changed had he been indoctrintaed at point A or B or C...

I disagree. I can't see inverting colors or swapping channels are any solution. Rather remember the old color scheme from ME1. Reapers/Geth blue, Alliance/Citadel red.

More synthesis foreshadowing:

Shepard: You mentioned before your people had problems with AI.
Javik: The Zha'til. They were as the Geth to this cycle.
Shepard: What happened?
Javik: Their creators lived on a dying world. It was beyond their ability to save. So they resorted to implants to enhance their intelligence.
Shepard: I think I know where this is going.
Javik: The AI seized the physical body. It could alter the genetic material at the deepest level. In time, the offspring were molded into a slave race. Few organic traces were left. They were monsters.

Mordin: "Discovery. Based on Prothean-Collector connection, can examine technology, chart Reaper species-modification. Fall of Protheans. Early stages similar to indoctrination. Can guess captured Protheans lost intelligence over several cloned generations. Cybernetic augmentation widespread afterwards. As Protheans failed, Reapers added tech to compensate. Mental capacity almost gone, replaced by overworked sensory input, transfers. Transmitting data to masters. No glands, replaced by tech. No digestive system, replaced by tech. No soul. Replaced by tech. Whatever they were, gone forever. Understand now? No art, no culture, closer to husks than slaves, tools for Reapers. Protheans dead, Collectors just final insult. Must be destroyed."

Mordin: "Disrupts socio-technological balance. All scientific advancement due to intellegence overcoming, compensating, for limitations. Can't carry a load, so invent wheel. Can't catch food, so invent spear. Limitations. No limitations, no advancement. No advancement, culture stagnates. Works other way too. Advancement before culture is ready. Disastrous."
