RM....exactly. Where are the geth too?

For that matter, the Beam run is portrayed as the entire galaxy's last hope. I know I'd want Krogan charging with me bare minimum. Where IS everyone!? Why is sword humans only?

And urgh, people are even saying the Reapers are 'valid forms of life'?

Seriously? As valid as Frankenstein's monster, the being created from the corpses of the dead?

At least Frankenstein's monster realised it was a monster, railed against its creator and only ever protected itself and wanted a mate. It has some degree of humanity, even if it was still an abomination. The Reapers can't make that same claim.

My reply. I think it should crush any rational arguments, leaving only the ranting ramblings of the insane or deluded.

Nice!

The thread is titled: "The Reapers are Innocent"? Really?
Really?
Are you serious? Is this a joke?
*Bangs head against wall*

I wish I could be surprised. After the madness I've seen from BSN before though, I doubt anything would surprise me. I think the worst one was people complaining that they couldn't stop Anders from "murdering that poor tranquil fellow." For those that aren't DA fans, that "poor tranquil fellow" was basically the DA version of a husk and he had one moment of sanity left wherein he literally begged Anders to kill him and end the living horror he had become.

I don't see why not. A woman was able to hold McDonald's responsible for her spilling a cup of coffee on herself in court, blaming an internet forum for a brain tumor is nothing.

It sure would be awesome if people knew what they were talking about before quoting that court case like they do.

Let me guess, Proudmore EU server?

Never ever ever go to Goldshire on that server. Ever.

Or Silvermoon.

Not sure what you're talking about, but I can't imagine it's worse than what Blizzard put in Goldshire themselves. Never even played WoW and I found that creepy as hell.

Where is your squad, you know the ones who charged a Reaper with you on Tuchanka?

Oh right they had a complete five seconds character deconstruction and are not going to charge dwon the hill with Shepard despite the beam beeing the supposedly only hope we have...seriusly I cant believe how out of character everyone is in that scene...especially EDI as her body has nothing to fear.

And Javik.  I can see no possible scenario where Javik would run away from that.  If you chopped off both his legs, he'd try to crawl to the beam.

If indoc theory were valid and this is what Bioware wanted to do, then they're doing a really good job.

I certainly hope that was not their goal. People obviously can't make a difference between good and evil these days......

And if you cut off his arms he'd use his lips to drag himself across the dirt so he could bite Harbinger's toe.

As for WoW, I'd never recommend it to anyone.  Its a great game, but its such a time vampire that I wish I'd never got so involved with it.  And parts of it are creepy as all hell.

Oh I have always found the argument of destroy being genocide as weak. What are the Geth and EDI? MACHINES! Sure, I like EDI and the Geth, but you can build more Geth after... It's not like destroying an organic race.

Haha. I'm from EverQuest. Over on EQ, we make fun of WoW because of how it's too easy and quick to do anything. Seriously.

She's not. I've known her a while before IT. Her biggest merit is also her biggest fault. She wants to save everyone. Everyone. She won't take it upon herself to judge anyone worthy of death, even those that clearly are.

(Thankfully) most of us live lives without wars. So, most evil we encounter these days is from art and entertainment, but since we are such civilized people, rather than hate or fear, if not serious, we tend to want to 'understand' why the evil guy is evil, because that's what I was told from kindergarden on: "Timmy is not a crazy bully, he's misunderstood".

And while that is probably right, we forget that the first action upon encountering violence and evil actions is to analyze ad rationalize it until cured, but to get the hell away from it.

And the worst part is: smart evil will use your sympathy against you, without you realizing it. Wisdom and experience (i.e instincts) is what is likely to be the key. And the Guardian situation is to me the textbook example for evil reaching for your sympathy.

Apparently some players don't want to take that into account. Big whoop...

I can't go back to that thread...what is wrong with people? They don't just like synthesis and control best, most of them HATE destroy and call ita crime against the universe.

The Geth and EDI said they prefer annihilation to comprise with the Reapers....I...can't...why...sigh

I just can't believe she willingly came out and said slavery is better than genocide. You'd think someone sane would say they are both equally morally abominable.

Very true. I realized back on the DA2 forums that people don't seem to "get" war. It was constantly arguing about whether person X on the enemy's side deserved to die. Like war is a long series of trials. No. They say "War is Hell" for a reason. Because war IS HELL. My philosophy is and always has been that war should be the last resort when all other reasonable options and diplomacy have failed. But when it does come to that, then may God have mercy on your soul because you'll find none on Earth.

I know. I Godwin'd it up because your point was stupid. There's many great arguments for destroy. Inability to accept higher thought functions that happen in a man-made device rather than a naturally evolved one as valid ones is NOT one of them.

Fine then.

. That is my major opinion as to why destroy is not genocide. Sure, it's not a good point, but I never intended it to be a serious point.

From that thread

Starchild is like someone robbing you at gunpoint, then you disarm him and take the gun. He then says:

"I know you're thinking of killing me. But there's a better solution. Kill yourself, and I promise I'll never rob anyone again"

Seems a lot of you would be laid out on the floor, bleeding profusely from a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.

So, I went into that thread, saw one of the replies was someone claiming that killing even a single Reaper amounts to genocide, and closed the topic.

I dont hate myself nearly enough for that level of bull****.

Huh. Ashley's body is in the pile of dead corpses found on the Collector Cruiser in ME2. Several of them, infact, the same as the ones in ME3.

Weird. Especially considering in this playthrough she's alive. Why would there be a pile of armoured corpses when everyone taken was a colonist?
