Only other MMO in the works that I'm interested in is Elder Scrolls. And I'm being very tentitive with that - but recent information has given me hope that it won't be a WoW clone or a cheap Skyrim mod-job.

I know the devs and their dedication to the game, and I'm having a blast in the beta for the expansion - so there

Anyway,
I just watched the arrival of Hackett to the Normandy in ME3. Man, the cues there indicate a possibly more sinister tone.

What I wish they would do in the next generation systems is have one game take place in a certain province, then release games that add on provinces and such until they have all of Tamriel on your machine and then they can just add new quests and change history, geogrophy, and borders with updates.

That sounds a lot like Guild Wars 1 to me.

Its pretty much what WoW did too. They release a new continent/planet every expansion except for Cataclysm, where they updated the lore and added new quests and stuff to the original zones.

Bah. I just wish it were closer. I need to find a new MMORPG. EQ is too expensive. Since the population has dropped so low, many of us are running multiple accounts because it's impossible to find groups easily. I'm at $60 a month, and $220 on the once a year that expansions come out. Getting a little stupid.

In the different Guild Wars expansions, like Factions or Nightfall, they don't have a big connection to the original one, prophecies. Sure, they're all connected in a pretty interesting way, one which you only find out much later on, but they're not really depending on each other, which makes the indiidual story lines so much more interesting and different from each other.

I know. It was instanced. I was referring to adding new places of the world with their own stories, quests, etc. with each new addon.

I noticed.  I was looking at EQ a month or so ago since I was interested in how it played (I don't care about the old graphics, gameplay all the way baby), then I saw the sub fee.  Its more then WoW!

And then I noticed you need silver or gold accounts to get the most out of it.  Which costs more.

So yeah, I scrapped that idea.  Shame, if they were more reasonable in the charges I'd totally give it a shot.  Good game or not, I seriously doubt it costs them that much to run the servers at this stage in its life.

Cool! what is the inverted color of the blue explosion and green one?

Synthesis and Control are both red actually. Inverted, they look like oily shadows. Just like our "oily Starchild" friend there.

Another thing I was going to note that with Synthesis, there is a slight yellow tinge to it. Maybe that's what the Rachni said with the "sour yellow note".

That's... Interesting. That coupled with the "sour yellow" colered desicion chamber, makes the inverted sequence seem an awfully like what the Rachni queen was describing as her indoctrination experience. What was it the Rachni queen experienced during her ME3 experience? Her children going crazy because they didn't hear the queens song?

It's not bad... just... stylized.

Just finished watching it.

It's definitively bad, even for "stylized." I've seen good stylized animation, and this didn't even come close. The art is ugly and doesn't remotely look like what they're supposed to, even in a stylized manner, and the slow-mo was just terrible. I also felt some of the voice acting was a bit weak (mainly the Krogan). The story could be great for all I know, but the visuals are bad enough to keep me from finding out.<_<

Agreed. Looked very ugly to me. I'll probably still watch it when the whole thing comes out, because I'm masochistic that way.

I think Bioware overestimated the players' ability to think critically.

Do you mean 'he's wrong. Dead reapers is how we win this!"

That quote is after a conversation you have with Illusive man and it's not far into the game. Might be right after mars or if you choose to have a conference with Hackett at a point after that and choose cerberus as the topic and then at some point the option about controlling the reapers comes up. It's a top left option during the conversation regarding cerberus. So I think it might be a conference you choose to have with hackett when traynor says hackett is available. It's definitely triggered after a Tim discussion. It might be as early as mars but I don't remember if it was that soon.

There is also the speech he gives when he boards the ship which is pretty straight forward and he uses 'no quarter'.

I mean the one right before Cronos station. It is an optional conversation you can have, if you happen to check the comm room before doing Cronos.

Shepard asks Hackett:  "What if the Illusive Man is right? What if the Reapers can be controlled.?"
Hackett answers with something like: "It would be like trying to tame a shark. Someone's going to end up dead."

He says something else as well, IIRC, thing is, I need the exact literal quote. But I can't find a video. Maybe I should just load my latest savegame.

You know, there is such a thing as "challenging the mind". That's nature for ya, just what Darwin said, "the fittest doesn't get eaten by a Reaper"...or something like that.

edit: damn, top. Ah well, good night!
