Ah, I misread.
I just feel wary every time someone says IT needs to find "new stuff" because it reminds me of speculations running wild (like you said) and leading to the fulfillment of the IT'er stereotype that drives people away. I guess it's kinda a knee-jerk reaction.
I think the new material is just to keep the thread going and keep minds thinking. I already have my proof, but I come back here because generally the posts are interesting and insightful. It's hard to find that these days. Most things are geared toward stupid and requiring no thought. I think that is why LOST was such a hit. Had the ending been more innovative, it would be all over TV in reruns.

score one more for DoomsdayDevice! Please tell me that is in the quotes thread because it's pretty strong stuff.
Of course it is!
I use it as my quote library.
Once I feel we've gathered enough stuff, I'll start categorizing it into a more comprehensive list. =)

So they just one day choose to lock it? Is that a rejection of IT thing or just because it's gotten too long? Is there any kind of last post by the person who closes it ?

I agree. I had the same thing, and disappointment with the ending (kinda sorta), with Battlestar Galactica.
I think Bioware was mostly winging it too, for the most part.
I just think that once Mac Walters was on board, the writing took on a level of complexity that it seems went over most players heads, including me to a degree. We're in for a treat. Sorry Bill Casey, but I think Shepard is in for a rebirth.

The indoctrinated Prothean faction was pushing for control.
I also think this is a unique cycle.
Reapers push for 'Synthesis' but fail at it.
Organics push for Destruction (of the Reapers) and succeed at it.
Faction pushes for Control and actually manages a plan to get it working.
It's all topsy turvey. The variables have changed. You are an anomaly.
In fact, humanity is an anomaly, and we'll see this illustrated not just with Shepard.

By now I'm just blown away by the writing, and its sad to think the majority of players just don't notice it.
IKR?
Check out these gems:
EDI: Shepard, I can confirm that this is the real world.
Joker: Oh, okay, well that'll solve that. Man, good thing we have an unshackled AI around to tell us what reality is.
EDI: Perhaps I missed some salient information.
---------------------------------------------------------
James Vega: "It's... not right. It looks pretty, calm and peaceful, but it's not right. It's all just an illusion."
Shepard: "I can hardly believe it, myself. Like everything back on Earth was some kind of nightmare."
---------------------------------------------------------
Garrus: "If they're lucky, they grew up thinking the galaxy is basically a decent place. Some rough spots here and there, but for the most part, life makes sense. Now they find out it was all a lie. They wake up to see these things in the dark that just want to destroy everyone they ever cared about. If they survive, there'll be a lot of angry orphans out there looking for answers."

Yeah, he just closes them at around 2280 pages or so because they're "too long" or "people are trolling too much off topic". Honestly the timing is pretty regular, so he's like the Activia yogurt of the indoc thread more than anything else.

They keep saying no to this. Or do you mean rebirth regarding DLCs. Or course, we all have to realize whatever anyone from BW says at this point is a bit like hearing it from the catalyst.
But I don't think they're going to give anything where shepard is doing more than taking that last breath unless they want to really mindscrew the player base and show them how they were all indoctrinated, which I have to admit, has a certain kind of beauty the way the ending of Sixth Sense did. Maybe 1% of the audience knew he was dead. It crossed my mind but only briefly then I was pulled into the story so much I forgot I'd thought it. Revealing it would probably do a lot more for the game and the MEU in terms of pushing it up to Blade Runner, Terminator type status sci fi wise. It may already be there, but it would enter a realm of its own and set the bar pretty damn high.

I seriously doubt control is possible even if you could make it that far without getting indoctrinated.
Haha... ok, I think its possible, but:
1)You still lose. Sorry TIM.
2)You doom the galaxy because Reapers still be Reapin around and your Control is still likely too limited.
Like all Cerberus feats, they're fools errands until Shepard gets involved and works his magic.
We have a history of taking lessons and resources from failed Cerberus, Salarian, and Quarian attempts at Control. It's fine. We still have, I predict, one more major event from Cerberus to go, and we'll take lessons and resources from that as well.

I mean an outright literal and spiritual/symbolic rebirth. His final rising from rubble (we had it in ME1, ME2, and now ME3).
They need to do the whole DLC cycle first, I'd actually wager.

That's a loading issue that is forum and server related. I know because I ran a forum a while ago. As threads get longer, they mess with the loading time and IIRC the server power. I think it's because even though you are going to page 2000 and it should be pretty direct, it somehow takes way more resources because it perhaps correlates through the 2000 pages in a certain way. So by a certain page number, it just messes things up too much.
I was running my forum on a cheaper server system and I think 100 or so was the cap so we had to lock them and start a new thread for the posters.

Maybe in theory, but in practice? Fat chance of getting it working.
To Illustrate (once again) it took the tech minded Quarians 300 years to come up with a working cyber weapon against the Geth, an AI they had created themselves. A few Reaper upgrades rendered the weapon worthless.
Now imagine having to apply a cyber weapon against the Reapers and how long it would take to make.

I can imagine TIM doing something super awesome with an Omega superweapon, only to be utterly shut down by ... ENTER HARBINGER.
Oh my, did I just spoil the DLC?
(EDIT: It has to fit Cerberus Base til Citadel, so it wouldn't be as crazy epic as I just said. But still.)

Bioware does this all the time.
For all we know, the entire DLC cycle could be them fleshing out story details, dialogue, and experiences via player responses and data.

Hacket poll is out.
Seems at minimum, 1/4-1/3 of players find Hackett at least a *bit* suspicious.
Still very outnumbered by those who don't think that at all.
