I voted no, it doesn't make sense to try to specify everything. You cannot prove what really happens and therefor you cannot support one over another (as long as both are valid, not something like TIM is a Reaper) Also the problem with most theories is they see something and make too many assumptions because of that. I never understood the need for dissipation to push their own theory.
So it's IT or nothing? Sounds like the 'us and them' mentality that drove me nuts a while back.
A few things (sorry to keep popping in and out like this, had no time today)
About Hackett, I wasn't trying to start a 'Hackett is indoctrinated' theory. I just pulled a lot of info from the codex about the Fifth Fleet and the Systems Alliance. There is a huge amount of information in there, realtive to the total information we have on the Alliance and Hackett, that at the very least casts doubt on his character and motives. It doesn't prove anything. I don't expect people to think "omg indoctrination". At the same time I raise an eyebrow when otherwise rational posters here say "hackett indoctrination idea is retarded" and then use a strawman about an old circular argument as their proof.
He could be indoctrinated; it could also be a red herring. In some ways, if you consider his actions dubious, it would be worse if he wasn't indoctrinated, because he would be abusing his position to gain ultimate power. You may not consider his actions dubious. As I said nothing has been proven. Just highlighting some codex and in-game dialogue, that is all.
About the Kid - we accept (all of us?) that any hallucinations or dream elements comprise things the 'dreamer' has seen before. If the Kid is a hallucaintion from the beginning, where might Shepard have seen him before? Might be that he was genuinely on the roof playing with a toy Normandy... maybe not.
Also a couple of random things (these could be serious red herrings):
Vancouver: why are all the numbers prime numbers? Why are four major buildings labelled 2 3 5 7 in that order?
Are the first husks we see really trying to get away from us? They look like they're banging on the window to escape. They don't attack you until you start killing them. You have to kill them to proceed. Any chance they're human but we're seeing them as husk?
London: Why do we see jet fighters fly over us after the turret bit? Have we ever seen this before? What are the jet fighters? Not Normandys right?
Something Hackett says about blood (bleed us slowly etc.) : this is getting really speculative now, but is there any evidence suggesting blood is what the Reapers are after? The soldier in the room with Liara is primarily concerned with stopping blood. No doubt this is of crucial importance when tending a bleeding wound. What about the artwork around London? All seems to be based around splashes of colour - red, orange, blue, green, yellow. I am no art critic so I'm not sure what these pieces might symbolise, if anything. The only thing I could come up with is the mixture of the blood of different races. Is there anything in this? Don't want to waste my time thinking about it if there's nothing there.
