Its not bad for my Turian Sentinel.  Only gun I carry on him, otherwise I just use my powers.

Has a bit too much kick to use it for anything bar close range combat though.  And not enough power to replace overload spamming.  But it can finish off most targets reasonably well.

I find it very reliable for taking down heavy armor bosses and most canon fodder. Maybe I'm just really good with pistols

You can finish the challenge with just a few solos.

I finished mine in 3 silver games using all 4 N7 weapons. They were in power based kits, so I didn't even use them much.

I'll set up a game. Whoever else wants to join is welcome. Posted Image

Yeah, I use the piercing mod.  Warp + Eagle can do decent damage against Praetorians and Scions at least.

Odd, heavily armored bosses are where it's weakest.  High RoF and low damage per shot is meh against them due to the way armor DR works.  The eagle's great if you're awesome at headshots, but then, so is the locust.

while we are discussing MP a bit, I'm deciding which of the N& weapons I should use. I was gonna use the Eagle but then I remembered I only use it as a supplemental damage for my Fury. Problem is all those N7 weapons suck, at least for pure weapons use. I'd only use the hurricame and Eagle with a biotic or tech specialist class for extra damage while powers recharge. The crusader is usually too heavy so maybe a Krogan soldier could use it. maybe I can use the valiant with another Infiltrator or something lol.

I completed the challenge in two games with the crusader on my krogan sentinel.

With the piercing mod and the choke, you can shoot people through their cover from half the map away.

Useless; Smart Choke does nothing on the Crusader. Sorry. It's a slug shotgun, that is it fires one round instead of a standard shotgun spread. Therefore (like the Reegar Carbine, Plasma Shotgun, and Spike Thrower) SC does not help the weapon in the slightest. Use the Extended Barrel instead. Posted Image

If you don't use it, the gun is slightly inaccurate at longer ranges.

Smart choke reduces pellet spread.  The crusader doesn't fire pellets.

I could have sworn the Crusader has a problem with slugs losing height at long ranges without the choke, but I've had no problems since I started using it.

Not saying you are wrong, just that this is the first I have heard of this.

The crusader's hitscan, only projectile weapons do stuff like that.  The kishock is especially bad for losing height at range if it's not fully charged up.  The crusader does fire a bit differently than other guns though.  The devs said guns have a slight delay before firing and the crusader has the shortest.  Basically we start to fire before we're exactly on target and by the time the gun fires, we're on target.  But the crusader fires quicker so we don't have that split second delay we subconsciously count on.  The gun takes some getting used to because of that.  For a while we thought it was firing duds.

It's like going into a gay-bar and then complain about homosexuality.
If you cannot tolerate a thing then try to avoid it instead of looking for confrontation/exposition.

Restrider.... Did you just compare us to a gay bar? Hahaha there are so  many way better comparisons but probably none as visual :P

Well, I am liberal in my views.
I am straight and I am not very much into the gay business and are not eager to see them making out. But as long as it is not forced on me, who am I to complain about it?
If I do not want to expose myself to something, I avoid it. Simple as that. If others acted aswell on that directive, the world would be a nice place. Heck, I'd really like to live on Illium...
And as you pointed out, this example is very visual, but that's why it works. B)

i found the crusader if you have one is really effective. I am still working on some Baterian points so I used a Bactarian Sentinal with the blade armor active and extra damage to weapons and shotguns (equip upgrade). It took me about 4 games to hit 50k points.  The only downside is the crusader is insanely accurate. So I would unload a clip trying to aim at moving targets. Though after a bit of practice I was able to score good one shot kills

Uploading code to upgrade a machine race = forcefully changing every living beeing into some kind of machine/oragnic hybrid...yep totally the same.

Also Synthesis and why it is so despicable has nothing to do with technophobia.

It is the fact that you based only on starchilds words is forcing this change on everything and everyone.

You are doing this in spite of several examples of how horrific Synthesis can end, many of which are active tools used by the Reapers, the supposed leader of which is telling you to do it.

Every single Reaper unit as well as the Reapers themselves are terrifying examples of Synthesis, the only person in the series to argue Synthesis was the Indoctrinated Saren and if you wnat an example of non Reaper Synthesis going horribly wrong, look towards Overlord. It even uses the same theme of green for it.

In short you are forcing something on the entire galaxy which on numerous occasions has resulted in nothing short of a "nightmare factory" (to quote Garrus) and you are doing this solely on the word of a beeing who says it is the leader of the Reapers.

Can you really not see the problem here?

I do hate one thing though in this thread:
You always forget the most important and reliable advocat for Synthesis that is supposedly not indoctrinated. He is also a well-trained expert that had profound impact in his particular field and changed the view we had on some of the bigger concepts of the MEU.
Here is the link.

Hmm. Just found some cut dialogue from ME2, part of which has EDI explaining how the people are uploaded into the Reaper, and Harbinger going on about the rebirth... sounds oddly familiar but I just can't place where I've heard something like that.

Just a reminder of possibly awesome quotes:

"The smarter someone was, the easier it was to make them believe a
complex lie. The simple-minded focused on the holes in the story; they
needed an explanation for every loose end. The intelligent filled in the
holes themselves, using logic, reason, and creative thinking to weave
the threads together into a perfect tapestry of deception." -The Illusive Man, Mass Effect: Retribution

(Context for that is here: "The lie ran so deep that even those who’d helped
bury the truth had convinced themselves the Reapers were nothing but a
myth. They continued on with their mundane existence, too weak and too
stupid to acknowledge the horrific destiny awaiting them. But the
Illusive
Man had devoted his life to facing unpleasant truths.
"
The
complex lie was the Reapers existance, not the 'Indoctrination Theory'.
In fact, the next complex lie may be the 'synthetics vs. organics' BS)

"We did present them with a lot
of unknowns. They're feeling threatened and want immediate solutions,
not theories
." -Shepard, Mass Effect 3

"I have been working on this for fifty years. I have
tracked down every scrap and shred of evidence. Eventually, subtle
patterns start to emerge. Patterns that hint at the truth. It is
difficult to explain to someone else. I can not point to one specific
thing to prove my case. It is more a feeling derived from a half-century
of dedicated research. But I know I'm right. And eventually, I will be
able to prove it.
There were other civilizations before the Protheans.
This cycle has repeated itself many times over." -Liara, Mass Effect 1

Please, please, please, everyone... if you find any awesome quotes that support IT in any kind of way, leave them in the thread we made for that in the IT group. The link is in my signature.

We're collecting quotes, eventually everything will be categorized into destroy-supporting, synthesis foreshadowing, 4th wall breaking, etcetera, etcetera.

I do have a question though; the second quote, the context thing. Is that from Retribution as well? Does TIM say that? Does he say that directly after the first quote?

I don't entirely get it... what's the complex lie? That the Reapers do not exist?

--------------------------------------------------
As for 2 important notifications: (lol)

1. The next time someone mentions the dream foliage, please point out to them that it was debunked long ago. The plant textures were used in the dreams, hence the name.

2. The next time a random synthesizer pops into the thread dropping the term PTSD, be so good to point out to them that Bioware actually put two cases of PTSD in the game: The traumatized Asari in Huerta Memorial and Kelly Chambers. The main symptom of PTSD is reliving the trauma over and over, and trying to avoid situations that will make you relive the trauma. Hence why Kelly doesn't want to be with Shepard on the Normandy, because it will make her relive the trauma of being in the Reaper tubes. The Asari in the hospital is constantly reliving her trauma as well. Shepard doesn't suffer from fear of being confronted with situations that will make him/her relive the trauma.

Right.  Onto the clevernoob thing.  He said in passing, in his video, that someone found the fileneames for the data in the ending slides.  And for the Synthesis ending, the foliage files are titled "dream foliage".  Which really lends to the idea that the Synthesis ending is a dream.

Nah, that's a thing I've mentioned... way, way back.
The foliage also appears in the dreams. Around the trunks of the trees. It is the same foliage, and I guess it's just reused assets.

Have you read the Synthesis supporters threads? The slides show you what you wanna see.

Synthesis supporters didn't choose Destroy because of the Geth and EDI, they get epilogue with EDI.
Controllers didn't wanna sacriface anyone or they wanted an army, that's what they see.
Destroyers wanted Reapers dead and everything like it was before, they get everything rebuilt and no Reapers.

*Thinks of his renegon FemShep that chose control and of the first reaction triggered*

Control Shepard: Eternal. Infinite. Immortal.
Sovereign: We are eternal.
Sovereign: We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite.

Control Shepard: The man I was used these words, but only now do I truly understand them.
Sovereign: My kind transcends your very understanding.

Control Shepard: Through his death I was created. Through my birth, his thoughts are freed.
Harbinger (ME2 cut dialogue): You must die, so that we may live.
Harbinger (ME2 cut dialogue): This vision is your future. You fight your own rebirth.

Control Shepard: The man I was knew that he could only achieve this by becoming something greater.
Harbinger: You have the attention of those infinitely your greater.

Seems legit.

So, remember yesterday when I posted an IGN article about video game box art? Well, it was talking about how much symbolism actually goes into box art. Remember when I mention a few weeks back that BioWare might be trying to send us a message with the ME3 box art? That article lends credence to that idea. Specifically, my idea was that BioWare was trying to give us some kind of signal by placing the Carnifex on the box art instead of, say, the Predator, which would be the more obvious choice given that it's kind of Shepard's signature weapon.

The CE guide has a little section called "The Eyes Have It" with a picture of TIM.  I always chuckle at that and wonder if they're hinting about Shepard's eyes in control/synthesis.
