Not everything in that video is valid though, some of the sounds are indeed Reaper sounds, others are not. This video doesn't make any distinction though.

it didn't have to. It was focused on noise that we all shouldn't have because we, our computer speakers/tv speakers can't play it. So why add extra sound clips for things we'd never hear?  I would like to see if that sound is present during the vigil scene in ME 1 during the vendetta scene during ME 3 and what point in the 3 games does the sound actually begins. Plus it wouldn't hurt to see what sounds are there on the various Prothean beacons. I'm suspecting a few are not what they are

This thinking is exactly the problem resulting of this issue. Some of the sounds are indeed true Reaper sounds that are shifted, but others are plainly compression artifacts. You have to distinguish here or you will run into problems.

I just had a thought. If Project X isn't ME3 DLC, maybe it's some kind of downloadable game that will finally resolve what happened to Shepard. Not a full game, just something to resolve what happens post-breath scene. It wouldn't have to have Shepard as a playable character, really, if IT is true there's no way he COULD be a playable character for many players.

According to FFZero (I believe), Chris specifically referred to a "Secret Project X."

Okay when Chris brought up the secret project X he was talking about the various projects they're working on at BW, so ME3 DLC/ME4, DA3 and this secret project X. After the panel I went to try and get more info but Chris was swamped by people so I asked JM and she says it something completely unrelated to ME. However since she wasn't giving me any details whatsoever about Omega DLC she's hardly going to give me any details of secret project X if it is the same project X CN was talking about.

The panel itself was more a 'touching base with the UK fans' than anything else, they weren't really showing anything new, and apparently the UK ME fans are some of the more...enthusiastic I think was the term Chris used. Also they asked all the people at the panel who played ME3, pretty much everyone raised their hand, who liked the original endings? about 5 -6 people raised their hands, who liked the endings after EC? Maybe 15 people raised their hands. So yeah, pretty clear that for the most part people still don't like the endings, despite Chris and JM saying that the majority of the fan base is okay with the ending now.

Oh they also reiterated though that Shepards story is 100% finished with ME3.

Anyway later on today I'll try and track down Chris and JM again since apparently they're supposed to have some new concept art for Omega DLC to show, I'll see if I can sneak some photos of them. I'll also try and talk to Chris about Project X and see if I get the same answer from him about it being completely separate to ME.

Thanks for the update, wonder when we'll see the Edmonto Expo panel online? Too bad they aren't ready to talk up Omega yet, it would be great to have something new to discuss.

JM said we most likely won't hear anything about Omega DLC until a week - 2 weeks before release.

hey guys. i was doing a new mass effect playthrough and found this on the mars reasearch station. when i first saw it, i guess must of overlooked. the main part of this is are 'they' the reapers or the protheans. it most likely the protheans though it is interesting to see this. perhaps they knew that humanity could play a big part in stopping the reapers at the next cycle? i dont know. what are your opinions

Yes but kind of annoying though. They must have known we ITers would get our hopes up with a name like that, given its history.

it could be, but if so how did it end up with the rest of the prothean data? it could  be that maybe the data in the vault did not only have prothean data, but also leviathan or maybe data on other races from previous cycles. It would be interesting if in a later dlc that you return to Mars to gather more data and you found out what else was there ( we can hope right?)

i also believe we will go to rio (or at least most likely) though maybe another dlc will make a pre-earth mission, like leviathan. it would be a really interesting experience if we could find out more about the previous cycles and the races. There is a little information on them here here but i would love to find out more about the races and how they failed against the reapers.
