I’m more inclined to think the Project X thing is coincidence, they are working on a brand new IP after all. It’s too early for it to have a proper name yet so Project X could easily be it’s early production name like Project Natal was for the Kinect. It is weird though that of all of the things he/BW could call it they chose Project X. With all the threads about Clevernoobs Project X it's impossible for them to not know about it and how the fans would react to an announcement like this.

Also sorry about not grabbing a video of the panel guys, tried to get it on my phone but it’s memory was full.

Couldn't have Project X always been the new IP and clevernoob just got it wrong?

Very possible, but then they should have made that crystal clear.

"This is not what you think it is, it is our new IP."

...not that we would believe it.

You don't think it's because people have looked at your evidence and decided that it doesn't add up to anything?

Once again you failed to recognize the truth.
The Indoctrination Theory isn't just a thread or the people behind it.

IT is an idea...
That idea is not so easily destroyed.

Maybe Restrider. But to keep that name and announce it now, with no details....that's just plain messed up

What is the relevance of the name Project X that seems to have people here a bit unsettled?

In one of Clevernoob's IT documentaries (most people here in the thread don't really like Clevernoob and disagree with a lot of his conclusions, by the way), he mentions knowing someone who knows someone who works at Bioware, who said they were working on a top-secret 'Project X'. He thinks it could be the long awaited IT reveal / post-breath scene DLC that many have been hoping for.

I don't believe in what Clevernoob said, but now that Priestly mentions it (knowing damn well what kind of implications it has for IT), I'm confused.

I'm still not holding out hope. I'm not even convinced we need a reveal. I would like to be vindicated for all the flack the literalists have given us though.

Project x is the rumored IT/Ending DLC. Bioware's community managers have denied it's existence and closed threads about it.

Chris Priestly has personally denied it several times. Months later we hear of him cryptically using the term and well....what are we supposed to think?

Whether you feel the ending needs additional content or not, I think project x not being mass effect related cannot be viewed as anything but a blatant, intentional troll. They fully understand the implications of this word choice. It cannot be accidental. To me, that not a single developer has been willing to even acknowledge the question of ending dlc was tantamount to an admission that they are at least considering the possibility. Project X however is, to me, is not a coincidental choice of names. I take it as a promise from Bioware that ending dlc is forthcoming. If not, all trust in Bioware will be forever lost. You don't release that information knowing the implications it represents by accident. Either something secret mass effect content is coming, or they are trolling hardcore. This isall or nothing for me. Only one of the "big three" immediately coming clean and apologizing for any confusion would make me drop it.

Agreed. I don't care if it's some kind of tradition to name new IPs "project X", Chris knows the importance attached to that specific term.

Teasing the fans to incite interest is one thing, but this is taking the proverbial urea solution.

Read the book by Strugatsky brothers - Habited Island. All you need to know about psychotropic warfare, and besides it is just an awesome book.

I swear if spotless.... I'll try anyway.  ;)

CP was talking about what they are working on.  Paraphrased:  "We're working on Dragon Age 3, the new Mass Effect game and Project X which I can't talk about"

Dem....Actually if I recall it was right after talking about me dlc, but I might be wrong. I don't think he elaborated on it at all. Ffzero then asked Jessica for more details and she's the one who then said it was unrelated to ME. You'll have to ask FFZERO

Edit: lol you won bro!

So let me get this straight, there's nothing actually linking Project X with Mass Effect?

Yeah, I'm not getting hyped.

What about the Omega DLC that everyone knew was happening?

To clarify he mentioned the Project X thing when he was talking about the various projects BW are working on, so new ME game, DA3 and Project X. After the panel I asked JM about it and whether it was related to the Project X clevernoob was talking about and she of course said no and that it was unrelated to ME, but since I couldn't even get any new info about Omega DLC I'd hardly expect her to say anything different.

Not officially, no.

But when Clevernoob started that rumour, the Project X threads were all over the boards. Priestly locked them, and posted in one of them that people could believe in this if they wanted, but that it's not true.

So, he knows the ramifications of using that name.

I'm not getting hyped either, but they could have given us more clarity by explicitly saying it wasn't linked to Mass Effect, or by using another name.

Sounds like it is nothing. Project X is really not that specific of a name - sounds like name place holder for any project that doesn't yet have a tittle announced or assigned. Besides it is used widely in the game industry - for example - the recent project by obsidian was first designated Project X, and then it was announced what it actually was (wheel of time RPG game). THEN obsidian had another project X this time a financed through kickstarter - and then it was revealed to be new IP fantasy RPG or something.

Not a big deal really.
