The trilogy is about Chief and Cortana. I'd be really surprised if she died, but let's avoid spoilers. Also, I don't know if the trailer day is official. But they must have something cool on that day, especially since it's the day after Halo 4's release.

I hope it is a mini-mission pack with the Mako! They will drop some good "stuff".

LOL. Good idea. Actually I thought they'd release the Valkyrie, as it's N7, but that's out now. So I don't know.

Okay, I'll ask a question to get the AC spoilers off the map:

Do you consider Overlord to be a bigger cautionary tale towards control or synthesis?

Virtual-life zombies atleast seem to be aware of their cerebral deficit on an instinctual level and try to counteract that through ingestion of other's brains.
I do not see the lit(t)eralists do something similar.
Edit: This comment is worthy for being on top.

Walking Dead zombies don't need to eat brains, my friend. I see no flaw in the comparison. Zombies are people who only do instinctual things and no longer think on a human, concious level.

okay this sums up everything I was trying to say about Renegade Shepard.

Okay on Thessia Tim says " They are just trying to Control US. Think about it. If they wanted all organic life Destroyed, they could do it..."
then TIM says " I know them Shepard. I know how they think."

Well of course you do your Indoctrinated. That's why you can think like they do.

Then my personal favorite Shepard: " The Reapers have it right. Your Indoctrinated.Your doing just what they want."

Then TIM says: "And I can say the same to you. Wasting your time, on a war that can not be won."

But then Shepard says " At LEAST I am fighting."

dam makes you wonder if Destroy you are still fighting.

But then TIM says " Never question my ability to fight. I've been fighting the Reapers longer than you can imagine."

Oh so he has been fighting the Reapers, but you only can now that if you read the comic book, about how TIM got his eyes, and Cerberus stated.
But then TIM says later " Shepard there are choices coming that you're not equipped to make."

major foreshadowing, and Equipped to make, but what does he mean equipped to make?

But then Shepard says " At least I'll be making them as a human being, your just some Reaper puppet."

okay next is Cronus station okay nothing major here, but Shepard asked TIM, about how many did you kill to get to where you are at, but TIM says " You wouldn't listen to me"

Okay this is the last Conversation we have with TIM, he tells Shepard that He needs Shepard to believe, but for what, and then later Shepard tells TIM that that the power has clouded him, and TIM tells SHEPARD " Are YOU  going to Control the Reapers." That's right. He tells Shepard are you going to Control the Reapers. Then TIM goes rage quite when Shepar d tells Tim you are weak, and selfish, but it's funny because TIM says " I am the Pinnacle of our species

Harbinger "we are the principle of Evolution."

Nit pick! ;)

People walk around like zombies. Or maybe automotons. Automotons is probably better since we're in an ME thread and there's that cool synthetic parallel to automotons which was kind of the core of the whole ME trilogy.

BatmanTurian, I'm with you on this one. And if these automotons speak to you, you have to be very cautious because they try to indoctrinate you. They are so guided by all these beliefs and ideas they have accepted about pretty much anything you can imagine that it spills over into a lot of what they say and do. If you hear it often enough, it could trigger indoctrination by default. You have to remind yourself that it's not true. In some cases it is easy because the beliefs or ideas are outright stupid, but in other cases, they seem almost logical if you aren't paying attention or don't deliberately determine to not take a side until you have more information. I speak from experience. I was indoctrinated to very little when I was young and even as a teenager. Non conformist who saw that people try to pull you to their way of thinking or their beliefs. I was very adamant to not be swayed. I only accepted what I knew for myself to be true via experience. Then I got older and the automotons wore me down. By late teens indoctrination became difficult to fight. I lost for a long long time. Several years ago I broke free again. Just a lesson or maybe a warning. Indoctrination is very real and often it begins with people you love and trust meaning well but since they're indoctrinated, their well meaning actions and words can manipulate you into beliefs and idea and ideologies without you noticing what is happening until you wake up.

This is the scene where Shepard survives the pieces from Sovereign. And look at 7:33 keep watching and look at Shepard's left arm. Look where the hand is.

Now tell me Shepard does cover this same spot when Shepard is holding his/her side, where a gun shot is present.

www.youtube.com/watch

i want you to watch the Renegade ending for ME2 again and pay attention.
www.youtube.com/watch

okay this is the Conversation Shepard, and Saren have at Virmire.

And it has Spanish sub titles, but English dub.

It's very interesting

Now watch this. This is from the final battle in ME1/last Conversation with Saren. Renegade

Now this is the same scene, but with Paragon Shepard. .

From video 2 at the end of ME2 Shepard tells TIM that if " You start
being selfish, dreaming about power, and we will all pay the price."

Correct
me if I am wrong, but didn't TIM crave power, and lead him to believe
that he can Control the Reapers, and we did pay the price because he got
corrupted by the lust of power to Control the Reapers.

Now in
Video 3 Saren is telling Shepard that what he is doing is to save
everyone in the galaxy, by helping the Reapers, which Shepard can do at
the end of ME3 Synthesis. Now when Shepard ask do you expect the Reapers
will let us live,

Saren tells Shepard " .....We Organics are driven by
emotion instead of logic, and we will fight even though we can not win,
but if we work with the Reapers. Make our self useful. Think how many
lives can be spared."

Synthesis, and Control spare everyone's lives.

Then Shepard tells Saren" You are afraid Sovereign is Controlling you. You
are afraid he is Controlling your thoughts."

well isn't that the same boat
we are in at the ending. We are afraid that the Catalyst is Contriving
us to pick his choices he likes, and we begin to question maybe the
Catalyst is right.

Then Saren tells Shepard that " I've studied the
affect of Indoctrination. The more Control Sovereign exerts, The less
capable the subject becomes......Sovereign needs me to find the Conduit.
my mind is still my own for now.The transformation between ally to servant can be unsettling. I will not let that happen to me"

One
the Catalyst needs Shepard to find a NEW Solution, and Shepard's mind
is still our own for now, until you pick Control, and Synthesis. And we
serve the Reapers in Control, and Synthesis because we are not their ally's, but we serve them in the end.

Then Shepard tells Saren "Sovereign is manipulating you, and you don"t even now it"

The Catalyst try's to manipulate both Shepard, and the player, into agreeing with his logic.

then
Saren says " NO Sovereign needs me. If I find the Conduit
I HAVE BEEN PROMISED TO
BE FREE FROM THE INEVITABLE.THIS IS MY ONLY HOPE"

The Catalyst promises that the cycle will end in Synthesis.

Then
after Shepard tells Saren that he is a Specter Saren tells Shepard " My
way is the ONLY WAY any of us will survive. I am forging an alliance
between us and the Reapers between ORGANICS AN MACHINES, and in doing so
I WILL SAVE more LIVES than ever existed.

Now didn't the
Catalyst say that this is the only way we can find peace. Where organics
and machines can live together, and he promises that Shepard will save everyone, by offering his choice.

Also I forgot that Saren say the exact same thing that TIMS says.

Saren" You will undo all that I have accomplished"

TIM:" You will undo all that I have accomplished"

in
Video 4 renegade Shepard tells Saren you could have fought. You could
have resisted.Instead you surrendered. You quit. Somkingotter took the
words right out of my mouth,

"I like how ME1 Renegade Shepard outlines the choices you have at the end of ME3

You could have fought: destroy
You could have resisted: control
Instead you surrendered: synthesis
You quit: refuse"

Your words are very true. I've been in many situations in my life where I have come to that conclusion with many people and instituitions and had to cut myself off. Indoctrination is a real thing. It's not just something in a videogame. It's the end result of inception.

Become one with the forerunners, or
Make the galaxy follow the forerunners/ Synthesis the whole galaxy.

Please, I have been trying to avoid any Halo News in order for the campaign to be more fun. I hope the bolded is speculation.

I would assume that is a comparison for loling purposes, but yeah.

Seriously, what the hell is with communications in ME3?

During the intro you get a badly garbled message from Hackett. This is from his flagship, directly to the Normandy. i.e. Two vessels with secure communications that are designed to operate well in combat.

And yet Anderson achieves perfect quality holographic communications while on the run on Earth, long after the Reapers have secure control over the Sol System.

That just doesn't add up.

Cerberus wanted to control the Geth using a form of synthesis just like Starbrat Harby wants to assume direct control of everything through synthesis.
