LOL. Good idea. Actually I thought they'd release the Valkyrie, as it's N7, but that's out now. So I don't know.401 Kill wrote...

The trilogy is about Chief and Cortana. I'd be really surprised if she died, but let's avoid spoilers. Also, I don't know if the trailer day is official. But they must have something cool on that day, especially since it's the day after Halo 4's release.

Walking Dead zombies don't need to eat brains, my friend. I see no flaw in the comparison. Zombies are people who only do instinctual things and no longer think on a human, concious level.Restrider wrote...

So you never forget the madness that lies outside this thread. So you never forget that outside our little sanctuary, there are real-life zombies who are dead inside because they no longer use their brains.
Virtual-life zombies atleast seem to be aware of their cerebral deficit on an instinctual level and try to counteract that through ingestion of other's brains.
I do not see the lit(t)eralists do something similar.
Edit: This comment is worthy for being on top.

@Restrider What's with the "lit(t)eralist" thing? Sorry, it's probably obvious.

Okay, I'll ask a question to get the AC spoilers off the map:
Do you consider Overlord to be a bigger cautionary tale towards control or synthesis?

Ya but I couldn't post on here. Honest I wish I could. I only created the other account because I got locked out. I don't know why, but I got locked out. I should go delete the other account now.
Yeah. It's hard to say. The strengths of neither, the weaknesses of both.BatmanTurian wrote...

It's both. Seriously. They're intertwined.

Nit pick!
People walk around like zombies. Or maybe automotons. Automotons is probably better since we're in an ME thread and there's that cool synthetic parallel to automotons which was kind of the core of the whole ME trilogy.
BatmanTurian, I'm with you on this one. And if these automotons speak to you, you have to be very cautious because they try to indoctrinate you. They are so guided by all these beliefs and ideas they have accepted about pretty much anything you can imagine that it spills over into a lot of what they say and do. If you hear it often enough, it could trigger indoctrination by default. You have to remind yourself that it's not true. In some cases it is easy because the beliefs or ideas are outright stupid, but in other cases, they seem almost logical if you aren't paying attention or don't deliberately determine to not take a side until you have more information. I speak from experience. I was indoctrinated to very little when I was young and even as a teenager. Non conformist who saw that people try to pull you to their way of thinking or their beliefs. I was very adamant to not be swayed. I only accepted what I knew for myself to be true via experience. Then I got older and the automotons wore me down. By late teens indoctrination became difficult to fight. I lost for a long long time. Several years ago I broke free again. Just a lesson or maybe a warning. Indoctrination is very real and often it begins with people you love and trust meaning well but since they're indoctrinated, their well meaning actions and words can manipulate you into beliefs and idea and ideologies without you noticing what is happening until you wake up.

These people are just beyond ridiculous and without hope. I want to take Casey Hudson and Mac Walters by their hair, push their faces into a computer monitor showing BSN and say " Look at what you have wrought. Look at the civil war in your fanbase that you have encouraged. I hope it was f***ing worth it."

First ME3, now AC3. Do we really have to go into the AC network and tell them about what really is happening.
next Halo will too. Cortana will die, and Chief will meet the fortune and will offer John three choices.
Activate the rings.
Become one with the forerunners, or
Make the galaxy follow the forerunners/ Synthesis the whole galaxy.
No spoilers.

All that, and the law of primacy. Something literalists really need to work on overcoming.BatmanTurian wrote...
Your words are very true. I've been in many situations in my life where I have come to that conclusion with many people and instituitions and had to cut myself off. Indoctrination is a real thing. It's not just something in a videogame. It's the end result of inception.

Seriously, what the hell is with communications in ME3?
During the intro you get a badly garbled message from Hackett. This is from his flagship, directly to the Normandy. i.e. Two vessels with secure communications that are designed to operate well in combat.
And yet Anderson achieves perfect quality holographic communications while on the run on Earth, long after the Reapers have secure control over the Sol System.
That just doesn't add up.
