I liked Revenge of the Sith and I dont hold any paticular dislike towards the prequels, just not as good as the Original for me.

But Disney in charge of ep VII makes me very, very nervous.

Disney being in charge of Episode VII doesn't concern me.  They own Marvel, and the Avengers was fine (Or so I've heard, I still need to see it.).

True enough, but still...ah I just hope they out some competent people on making this.

While we are on this topic...
What do you guys think of the Watchmen graphic novel and the movie?

w-w-wait... Star Wars: Episode VII?! Is this legit?

Yes.

Shocking isn't it?:o

Nooooooooooooooooooooo! Why did it have to be Disney
to do Star Wars:crying:

Hey, they might do something genuinly cool with it..like Tron Legacy (and I don't find the prequel scripts were that much better).

This.  I think what we all need to remember is that Disney also owns Marvel, and The Avengers was awesome (Or so I've heard, I really need to see it.).  I don't think they will ruin it.

Avengers was terrific, though that may be thanks to Joss Whedon.

Actually Disney taking over Star Wars may work out well.

Which was the best of the originals? Empire Strikes Back of course. And which one had someone other than George Lucas directing?

Lucas came up with a great idea for a franchise, but sometimes you need someone with a bit of distance from the project to bring something fresh.

Watch it! That's an order! It's so much better than I expected it to be from the trailers. Made me really love Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. And the humor in this movie is there, but it never comes of as cheesy...don't find that often in comic based movies.

Agreed, it was perfectly judged. I've always liked Whedon's sense of humor, ever since Buffy.

Thanks for the headsup Restrider. I've already watched all of the documentaries I can find on the IT, so I know about all of the weird things going on and if they're plausible or not. I was more seeking an opinion on the matter, like the Q&A. Is that even possible?

Also I saw your top 10 didn't involve the completely new sound Harbinger makes before he strikes Shepard. Is he actually saying something? If I were Harbinger and I was actually trying to kill him/her, I'm pretty sure my last words to Shepard wouldn't be "Serve Us", I don't think an obliterated body has use unless all they wanted was to turn him/her's remains into another Reaper.

Technically, the sound Harbinger makes is classed as a sound effect in the game files (or so I believe) rather than as dialogue. That's why there's no subtitles. Also the Tuchanka Reaper apparently makes the same noise, so a lot of people write it off as reaper-ese babbling

However I can't believe that sound effect was chosen at random. Not for such a crucial moment in the story. It sounds a lot like "serve us" to me. But unfortunately I read other people's opinion on it before hearing it for myself, so I may be hearing what I expected to hear.

I think it's supposed to be an audio representation of the indoctrination signal that Reapers always have on.

As an addendum to that theory, I would like to point out that it is a low, deep noise, and low, deep noises are typically visualized as black by people with synesthesia. Since the Rachni always describe sounds as having color, it makes sense that they might have a kind of species-wide synesthesia.

The Avengers was amazing! I've always loved stories that revolve around a team, one of the reasons I love Mass Effect. Disney also did the Pirates Of The Caribbean series, and others that I didn't expect the Disney label to be on.

TL;DR: Star Wars VII will not be like The Lion King.

This is great news. I'm curious where they'll go with it. Grand Admiral Thrawn, perhaps? Or the Yuuzhan Vong? So many possibilities, I can't wait.Posted Image

WTF is this!?!?!?! I think this is both a good and bad idea. I love the idea they are making an episode VII if it is done right, but the new company makes me nervous. It's like the EA takeover again. I will give disney the benefit of the doubt though. I loved the marvel movies recently.

For the plot...I would love to see the Thrawn trilogy or the Yuuzhan Vong plots. Hopefully the thrawn trilogy though. Possibly the best plot to adapt for the movies.

So what have I missed in the last 3 days guys? Anything big?

In any case, IT does not fall apart if that sound turns out to be coincidence.
Personally, I am not sure if it really is something. On the contrary though, it really sounds creepy.
And to your Q&A question:
Do you mean a Q&A that is answered by the developers or at least someone of the inner circle at BW?
And what questions are you looking for?
In any case, if there is a Q&A, they are usually very vague about it and try to not to undermine one interpretation or the other, so you will not find anything truly revealing there I am afraid.
Although there are a few interesting remarks through twitter and other situations.
Just out of my memory:
1. IT is as valid as literal interpretation.
2. There are parts in ME3 that are not to be taken literal. (I really like that one)
3. If you knew what we planned, you'd hold on your save files for ever.
4. We are working on ME3 DLCs, DA3 and a secret Project X I can't talk about. (There was a rumor that Project X might be an IT-DLC that was promoted by clevernoob in his last documentary)

I agree that it is strange they chose THAT sound out of anything to play at that moment Eryri.

And that is also an example of a question I might ask someone who is at least in the inner circle, someone who actually has the knowledge to answer the questions.
  • Why did you place the 2D bodies on the field after Shepard gets hit with the laser?
  • Why does Harbinger leave if Anderson is apprently up and running too?
  • TIM and his magical control powers that haven't been seen anywhere else in the ME universe.
  • etc...
Even if the answer is vague I'm sure it'd be really great to hear ANYTHING on that matter. "Why did you put all of these crazy 'symbols/props' in after Shepard gets hit?!"

Also I read that they said that they arent going to be releasing anymore ending DLCs. Now the question isn't if they're lying or not, but why would they even speak up to squash the idea anyway? They'd have to know it's going to dissapoint  a huge chunk of their fans, so did they really feel the need to deny it? Were the fans just crying out too loudly after the EC that they legitimitely needed to put it to rest?

Oy, so many questions!

Well, there is a hypothesis that the ending is in fact the "Stargazer scene".
Okay, I'm out for today.

Interesting.  It would make some sort of sense that indoctrination might cause certain neurological conditions.  The fact some people start seeing 'grey shapes' demonstrates this also.

Here's some standard Bioware fan-teasing at work.

Ha! Why do we let them get away with winding us up like this? Because their games are awesome that's why! Well now we know what the pumpkin in MP represented. Shame it's probably just an MP event though rather than DLC.

On a related and appropriate note, nearly at page 1 666 .

Remember how the kid at the beginning teleports?

He does it in the dreams too. I saw him doing the same animation as the first time you see him, playing with a toy spaceship. He disappears behind a tree, and as i run around it to see him again he's now suddenly in the distance cowering next to a tree - the same position he was in when hiding behind the handrail outside the building he runs into.

...yeah.

I never noticed it before.  Its almost like Shepard is subconsciencely aware that the kid's movements weren't adding up right, so it was incorporated into the dream.

I am in a debate class, and one of the topics we were discussing caught my attention. In the interest of keeping on topic, I'll slightly adapt it.

Say if in the ending, instead of shooting a tube, it was a person. Just a random innocent person. Is it morally permissible to kill that one innocent to save the lives of more people from the Reapers?

EDIT - On top...I have no idea if I should be celebrating or be cautious and look out for if something bad is going to happen...  (1666)

EDIT 2 - Fun fact: A lot of fires occured in the year 1666. Including the Great Fire of London...
